Great to see this ship again. I spent two years working in it when it was converted at Harland and Wolff in Belfast. It was formerly an Italian Roll-on Roll-off ferry known as the "Contender Bezant". I've plenty of stories to tell about building that ship. :-)))))
@@flagwanker6346, it's not "masquerading" as you say. It is on attachment. It's original purpose was as an Aviation Training Ship complete with a hanger deck and flight deck. It has been temporarily repurposed as a Hospital Ship.
Wow! A Primary Care Receiving Ship that is heavily armed, and a helicopter training ship. Served in the Falklands War and the Gulf War. Since it is not painted white with a red cross, it cannot be classified as a hospital ship even though it has x-ray and CT scanner in its fully functional hospital facilities. Rather impressive.

I have two lads in my family one was on the ark royal and the other was a submarina and I am very proud of them both
