I heard stories from Desert Storm when they sent in the battleships. I believe Missouri was the one they were talking about. If the US sent a destroyer or a frigate or basically anything else into the area, there would be insurgents on shore shooting at them. When the battleship rolled in, nobody fired a shot. You can tell what that is just by looking, even if you never heard of a battleship before.

We have 11 of those puppies and each strike group has about 10 ships in it included the subs you don't see
That is one supercarrier! Incredible size ! 🇬🇧🇺🇸
What a big defenceless sitting duck for modern Russia´s hypersonic missilles like Kinzal and Zircon ! (There is No defence at all against those missilles travelling 3 to 5 times faster than any rifle bullet...) USA should keep it in USA and stop using aircraft carriers for terrorizing third world countries....

Gives be goosebumps knowning I built that carrier...I remember her when she was only on keel blocks...lots of good memories and lots of hard work
You guys did an incredible job 👏
I’m glad they are our allies, and long be it so. Thank you AMERICA
That ship is impressive! I remember how excited I was when we pulled into port. After seeing nothing but water on the horizon for a month, I was so happy to step on dry land. LHA-3, USS Belleau Wood.
Amazing !!! I appreciate every single sailor for protecting my freedom 🙏 ❤😊
God Bless All !!!❤😊
Humongous!
Thanks for posting with no music, just ambient sounds 👍
no probs! 😀😀😀
That's the GDP of a small country right there. Glad they are on our side.
Wow, what a difference our fleets look like after only 250 years! Glad we are friends again.
We're not, thanks bot comment
@@jbloun911 nato would say otherwise.
@@AXELVISSERS NATO is the US and it's lil minions
If this ship isn't a deterrent to everyone else, nothing will be
I heard stories from Desert Storm when they sent in the battleships.
Magnificent is the only word for it ! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Having been a guest onboard USS Nimitz in Hong Kong many years ago I thought that was a massive ship but this beast makes it look like a rowing boat! What an incredible and beautiful ship this flat top is. Wish we had some of these in our Navy, what a game changer it would be! I hope the sailors enjoy there shore leave in Pompey.
uh no. it's only very slightly larger.
The FORD and NIMITZ class carriers are the same size. There are some differences but length and width between the two classes are nearly identical.
I would have love to have seen this! Amazing 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Now that is an Aircraft carrier!
Awesome. And too big to get into our dockyard.
And fully laden with various Aircraft.
That part where the ferry is passing in the foreground, I'm like "that ship is like a Star Destroyer", it just goes on and on and on.
Welcome Mr Ford thanks for stopping by 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
Our shared love of freedom will never waver. God bless the UK, and God bless America. 😊
That's an impressive aircraft carrier...be great to see this and the HMS QE sailing together fully loaded with fighter jets 👍🇬🇧🇺🇲

I got to see this and all the other war ships sailing with her when they were here in Halifax N.S. a few weeks back . The HMS Queen Elizabeth was here a few years ago , both very impressive ships .
Nice to see a carrier that actually has a full complement of aircraft, unlike some I could mention!
That carrier looks like it has more fighters than my country (Canada)
And that’s just what you see on deck. There are probably about 2 or 3x more below decks on multiple levels. Amazing. Almost looks like CGI.
@@gordonhenderson1965 maybe that's because the U.S is just below you.
They're old F18s though.
@@agt155 And want else are they suppose to have? Other than F35's, f18's are basically the newest jets we have that are carrier capable. F22s can't be launch from carrier
That is one massive ship! Must look amazing in person.
I'm from Portsmouth great coverage
thanks!
@@Lexhunter1 are you British!?
I SAW THIS SHIP WHEN I WAS DELIVERING A SAIL BOATT IN SAN DIEGO, CA. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY THE BIGGEST SHIP I HAD EVER SEEN AND SO BEAUTIFUL WITH THE SUN SHINNING DOWN ON IT AS IT PASSED OUT OF PORT. AMERICA CAN BE PROUDD OF THIS SHIP.
Wow that’s something to be proud of..beautiful sight. Looks almost too big for that close to land.
This brings back memories. My least favorite part of entering port was manning the rails, I nearly lost my cover twice because of windy conditions 😅 😅

🇪🇺🇺🇲🇬🇧🇪🇺🇺🇲🇬🇧🇪🇺🇺🇲🗽🗽🗽Much love appreciation and respect to our great allies over the pond thank u guys for everything u all do. Once voes now we have prolly the closet partnership between countries and our other awesome nato allies
Portsmouth will always be a strategic ship launching point for the UK 👌
Would love to see the Queen Elizabeth carrier next to her for a comparison, the Gerald R Ford is enormous, what a presence she has, WOW. 👌👌
Now imagine seeing that in the distance knowing they came for a fight? Now imagine that x10. The US is the hulk of nato.
Look @ all those two-seaters. Spectacular.
The Ford Class CVN is absolutely enormous. I look forward to seeing CVN-81 USS Doris Miller making her first call to port a decade from now. 🇺🇸🇬🇧
1,106 Feet (337 meters) in length, 256 Feet (78 Meters) in width & weigh's slightly over 100,000 Tons - SHE'S A VERY BIG GIRL.
@@skunklover5725 I can just see you bursting out the doors of the launch party with a cigar in your mouth and announcing IT'S A GIRL!!
Doris Miller was a true American hero. "Doris" means "gift from the sea". If seems appropriate for both the man and the ship.
USS Enterprise is on the slip being built right now.
Enterprise and Kennedy will be 2nd and 3rd.
À magnificent behemoth, good to see our brothers across the pond popping in for tea
They got very good value for their ticket, the passengers who were lucky enough to be on that ferry.
This naval flex is awe-inspiring and sobering.
Proud American here: thanks to our military for defending freedom !
May we know world peace in our lifetime.

HMS Queen Elizabeth II isn't much shorter and equally capable 🏴⚓
@@DaveSCameron QE is a fine ship, but let's not get carried away my friend... 😁
I remember when the Dwight D Eisenhower visited Portsmouth in the 80's.
Was in the RN then and got an invite onboard. Loved it. Couldn't get into the dock so had to sit out in the Solent.
This is even bigger by far! lol
i bet it is an amazing experience to visit one of these
I went to bay house school which is almost on the front at stokes bay when that beast visited and saw it. It almost blocked out the I.o.w!!

@@anglosaxon5874 just curious, I’m American and my family (twin Daughters and girlfriend are British)
That’s not a war ship it’s a town made of steel with a lot of scary aircraft on it massive ship truly amazing machine 👍
"My God, sir. With all due respect, I have not been in the bottle at all, I swear; but that island off the lee bow seems to be moving..."
Just think , this is one of ten or eleven such US carriers, all of which are around the 100,000 ton mark. Amazing. My Dad was in the Fleet Air Arm during WW2 so, at sixteen I decided to join the Royal Navy. However. They decided they didn’t want me. I got over it.
Welcome to our American friends! 🇬🇧🇺🇲
Breathtaking! Thank you for posting.
Oh man !! What an awesome piece of kit .Was in Thailand many years ago and the enterprise was docked .This beast looks much larger
