Thank you for this video. I'm happy that it's most of the mindset I am going in with. I start teaching this fall and am moving from another industry. I've prepped that it won't be easy, starting learning the language, understanding the cultural norms, and what it like at a public vs hagwon. I had been getting a little nervous about the negative videos and discouragement from some friends.

Keep your clothes clean, your face shaved, and wear deodorant. If you have tattoos, cover them. Blend in. Don't cause trouble. If you are with minors or young women be sure other adults are present.

I taught in Europe for 3 yrs. I'm used to being broke so no big deal. It was better than being in Somalia or Chicago.

True. I wouldn't want to be in Somalia or Chicago, either.

teaching English in Korea, unless you teach in a public school, it’s a business. if you bring more students, you will be treated well. thats the bottom line. it doesnt matter what your qualification is, if you can’t bring more students, you are not a good asset to the company.

      That's true. Popularity is everything.

You're making alot of assumptions from the general information about that woman and basing your rebuttal off those assumptions.

      You're probably right.
