Howdy Folks! I hope you enjoy the video! I have a question I wanted to ask you. What is your're opinion on the length of my videos? Do you think they are to long? It would be no problem to cut them down in the future if you think so. I have noticed I myself enjoy fishing videos by other channels in the 10-15 minute range rather than 20+. I was interested In knowing your're opinions. Thank you so much and God Bless!
Longer would be better I wait for your videos... by the way what happened to the bluegill bait for crappie ? I didn't get a chance to watch it and says it was deleted..
Richard, I don't think the length of your videos make any difference, especially when the content is so interesting and you make it so enjoyable to watch. I especially like it when you take the time to explain the method and means of what you are going to be using in the episode you are filming. Thanks again for all you do for those of us who look forward to the next video.
I enjoy the length of them. I do have only one request and it may be just me but I find myself sometimes wishing you would show more of what you're doing up until you hook the fish. How you're working your jig and what you're looking for in an area. It seems like a majority of the time, you show just as the hook sets and I can't learn what you were doing prior to find or entice the fish to bite. That's just me and I enjoy all the vids all the same. The most informative crappie fishing videos on youtube.
Mr. Gene. My brother and I were fishing on lake Sinclair this past weekend. fishing was kind of slim, because the gar were running. That night, around 11pm we started using the slab sauce. Oh man! That's some good stuff! It made the crappie commit to the bite, where before we started using it, they were just killing minnows. Thanks for introducing us to slab sauce. IT WORKS!!
Mr.Richard !! You mentioned in this video as well as many others when you're fishing that it is such a beautiful day.....well sir I can honestly say I understand now why you say that ! I can't tell you how much I look forward to spring crappie fishing 2021 and I'll be doing it from my first boat !! I can't wait to use your teachings and knowledge of fishing I look forward to many more wonderful videos of you making sense of fishing ( in my opinion.....lol) Thank You Sir for all you do ......may God and the Good Lord smile down upon you and yours ......have a glessed day sir !!
Hey gene, i just found your channel as i explore the world of crappie fishin. Ive catfished since i was a kid, pretty much all ive done. Your videos are full of good information and i find the length to be appropriate. My request is for you to do a beginners guide, how to get started, basic budget friendly gear to start, tips for choosing the right rod/reel combo. Maybe even make it a series. Anywho, keep up the good work and fish on!
Great video gene! I’ve been using “pro-cure crappie and panfish” attractant lately. It’s made from real, processed bait fish and amino acids, with a natural bite attractant added. It definitely helps! Keep the great content coming! I’m learning so much from ya!
Hey Richard! Thanks for the info on attractants. I’ve been using the Crappie power-bait scent for awhile now because I believed it to be the best. Thanks for informing us to something better. 👍🏽
In my opinion the length is good. I would like more explanation about depth, presentation, type of cover and what you think is important to do for the situation you are in at the time. Also the reason you think the crappie are where they are at the time you are fishing. I assume the date of the video is the time of year you went. If it isn't, the time of year would be good. I really enjoy your videos. I always look for your video as soon as I get on the Tube. Thanks for what you do!!!
Still learning from you.I went fishing and got some big crappie for the first time.Living in NC Clinton, Sampson County. I am also a Carpenter for 44 Years in my own Company. We have a lot in common. Keep have in fun enjoy Life. Love your family Richard. George M Burr
I like to watch these videos as I am drinking my coffee and preparing for work. I would like to see videos lasting 25 mins plus. Also, I need updated new videos daily.......:) I enjoy watching this Bama boy fishing. He needs an Ole Miss Rebel hat on though....
While flippin’ for bass in cattails after a bit the plastic worm would stick to the cattail instead of sliding into the water. I used a plastic sandwich bag and sprayed attractant into it and rub the worm in it and flip some more. Hope this helps and enjoying your videos, thanks
Your videos provide tremendous amount of information and I really enjoy them. The length doesn't matter as long as they are interesting and informative. Keep fishing and keep up the good work!
All your videos are Awesomesauce but this one is above the rest to me. Big crappie, lots of head shakes and most of all having fun! That trip across the lake tho...wooooo!!
I have no idea how much it helps, but I'm sure it helps a bit. Every time I go crappie fishing I use crappie nibbles with the lure I use. They have some scent to them.
i always keep nibbles in my bag for if i run out of worms or whatever im using. add them to a small jig. iv used em less now that i started using the scent.
You convinced me into buying some slab sauce and it is some of the best stuff I have caught crappie that wasn't biting I sprayed just a drop or two they started biting instantly.
Absolutely incredible video as always!!! I love it brother....I definitely agree with you on smell 👍 as far as length of ur videos being too long...pfttt not long enough if anything lol😆ask Elmo he will agree with me!!! If videos ate too long tell em to watch rest later 👍😁 We love you brother keep Fishing!!!!!
Richard, you are my favorite youtuber to watch. I noticed in one video you said you would “try to be normal.” I hope you are never normal! The goofier you are the more I love it.
I have never used any attractant but after watching this and some of your other videos will be picking up some for my trip next week for sure. Gonna have to get down to your neck of the woods one day and test out those waters some time.
RGTFM I’m so glad I found your channel a while back. You’re a good man and I have much respect for you and your fishing knowledge. Wooo. Further, Woodrow, next door in the trailer park, came over to watch you fish with me, and he said Elmo uses Brylcreem for attractant and he still cant catch a gal.
Richard could you do a short segment someday and explain the pros and cons of different size jig heads and hooks? I think one of the things I may be doing wrong is I use the biggest jig heads I can get so it's easier to keep it in the water on this Lake I'm at which is very windy but I'm starting to think it's better to have the light jig head and let it float around down there.
No don't change a thing love watching your clips the highlights of my day is watching fishing with ya and elmo great tip on different baits as well as atractens thanks for sharing
Richard Gene you the man. Love your videos. We live in oak Ridge Tn and are taking a trip to Wiess lake at the end of the week I hope we have some luck. I really enjoy your way of fishing I’d rather jig fish any day then trolling. Your videos are great. Wooooooo!!!!!! Let’s lettem Go kills me every time
Mr. Gene ,you always seem to have interesting topics and things to say so no problem with length in your vids. Some folks aren't as enjoyable to watch and learn from as yourself. You could probably drop 2-3 minutes just by not putting up with Elmo. But I think Elmo appreciates it and so do I. Carry on with your bad self, cuz its guuuuud fer ye!
I went to Domino's Pizza and bought some Garlic Butter Dipping Sauce. just to try at the local pond. I dipped my power bait into the garlic butter dipping sauce and "Works Like A Champ".
Nice video. I haven't compared many scents but have done really well with that Berkley Powerbait Crappie scent. For that reason, I haven't tried others much.
Hey gene. You make your videos as long as u want sir we will keep watching. But if I had to pick a time frame I'd say about 10-15 but it's no problem here. Love your videos.
In the late 70s Dad and I were catching crappy very well on old tube jigs. When they'd get eaten up beyond use we'd have to get a new one. That person wouldn't catch until the new wore off that jig. When I had to have a new jig I pulled a fish from the live well and slimed that new jig. That thing started catching immediately so if you're keeping fish rub your new jigs on em. I usually keep 4 or 5 for my wife and I and release the others. Don't rub the slime off a fish you plan to release. It's simple, affective, and free.
Hey Richard! You machine you, i don’t think the length of the videos matter. I watch when I can for how long I can, cuz it’s good fer me, but if I don’t get to finish the video I just come back to it later. Your doin am awesome job on your videos bud, id just go with the flow !
I’ve got to have me a mess of that slab sauce. I too have been using the power bait attractant but I’ve never seen the slab sauce until now. Thanks for another informative video. The length of the videos are ok by me. When you’re using videos as instructional tools the longer the better in my opinion.
I totally agree with you here. I can remember about 31 years ago when I was 14 my step dad and I were fishing up here in Michigan in the very early open water part of the season and we couldn't buy a bite. Now the weather conditions could've played a hand in it but he looked in his tackle box and pulled out some Baitmate in either the crappie or gamefish formula and when we tried it we started to catch fish. We quickly figured out when we needed to apply more scent because on those casts we wouldn't get any bites. We ended up taking home a nice early season batch of bluegills and yellow perch. I've been a believer in fish attractants every since that day and always use them.
Richard, I enjoy your videos tremendously. Have learned a lot about Crappie fishing. The length is fine for me. One thing I would ask is that when you are fishing in a location to name the place where you are fishing. Thank you for the help and the videos
I generally watch your videos all the way through, whether they 15 min or 25 min. If you feel like you have 25 minutes of info on the topic your discussing don’t hold nothing back! I’ll take all the education on catching crappie your willin to share. Thanks a bunch
Richard it depends on the content of the video and the mood of the one watching at the time. I find 10 to 15 minutes is popular with myself, but if the content is interesting and I have no pressure on me to be doing something else, I'll spend up to 30 minutes on one video. Your videos are both interesting and entertaining in my opinion, but like you have said many times, it's just my opinion. Thanks for sharing.
Great video Richard Gene I use the Berkley power bait and it works very well. As for the length of your videos they are just long enough. I have a few that I started posting for ice fishing and they are 10 to 20 minutes long they are uncut. Keep them coming.
I used to be against scents as well but then I tried them and I wont go back. I like to use mo’glo slab jam minnow scent. It sticks well to every fly I use and to my soft plastics as well.
Richard I make my own with cod liver oil and oil of anise. 3 part cod liver oil to 1 part or less of anise. Walmart has anise oil in the spice isle. Cod liver at the drug isle.
Right on another good vid brother"!! Length is ok is what the ol lady says!! dip my cropiola rigs in power bait waxie juice right cheaaa, . Take care and keep them heads shakin eh!
Come down highway 77 to southside an ohatchee I fish on both sides of the road all the time there's one side that boats can't get too I catch a lot there on red worms an have caught a few good bass on cranks
Love the video Richard keep up the good work you're going to have to get it on my way out there with you I believe in the smell of the bait stuff that does make a difference if not I use it anyways love it keep up the good work have a great day
Where can I get slab sauce around Guntersville and also I haven't heard you say but do you use it on live bait also. Just wondering. Love your videos. I watch them all the time. Thanks Chris Nunnelley.
Also what ever repelles something like bug spray or sun block will cause the fish to not bite. You should use rubber gloves to put that stuff on your skin or use clean gloves to put on your bait.
Richard o think your videos are just about the right length. Anything over 20 or 25 minutes is to long, I think. Keep doing what your doing. I love the videos. What I always say when someone ask me if the fish are biting. Don't know till you go..
Howdy Folks! I hope you enjoy the video! I have a question I wanted to ask you. What is your're opinion on the length of my videos? Do you think they are to long? Richard Gene The Fishing Machine they could longer in my opinion, especially considering all the good information you provide.
Nope love watching every second of your videos I my self love crappie fishing man keep catching them up
I enjoy your longer videos to be honest. It really depends on the topic.
Richard Gene The Fishing Machine what you are doing is PERFECT! I wouldn't change a thing unless you just want to! Thank you for what you do! 😀
Longer would be better I wait for your videos... by the way what happened to the bluegill bait for crappie ? I didn't get a chance to watch it and says it was deleted..
Your fishiing videos are saving my life through this COVID pandemic!! Thank you sir.
Gene, I'm here to learn from you. But I enjoy your lessons a lot. I'm happy with 15-20 minutes. I feel a little happier every time I watch.
Richard, I don't think the length of your videos make any difference, especially when the content is so interesting and you make it so enjoyable to watch. I especially like it when you take the time to explain the method and means of what you are going to be using in the episode you are filming. I'm with you on the use of scents, I also use scents like crappie nibbles and other types of scents or home made scents.

Thanks Gene.
Excellent points about the various scents we put off to the fish of what they are attracted or not attracted to. Big thumbs up!
Don’t care if your videos are one minute or 30 as I will watch everyone. Don’t fret-just fish, video, and share!
Thanks Mr. Richard. After having knee surgery Thursday it's been a blessing just to watch your video's. Keep ripping them lips son.

Where can I get slab sauce around Guntersville and also I haven't heard you say but do you use it on live bait also. Just wondering. Love your videos. I watch them all the time. Thanks Chris Nunnelley.
Keep doing what your doing
Your videos are awesome
Also what ever repelles something like bug spray or sun block will cause the fish to not bite. You should use rubber gloves to put that stuff on your skin or use clean gloves to put on your bait.
Does using 6 or 8 lbs test make it harder to jig? Does the line keep the jig from falling properly?
I think your videos are great don’t change anything
Richard o think your videos are just about the right length. Anything over 20 or 25 minutes is to long, I think. Keep doing what your doing. I love the videos. What I always say when someone ask me if the fish are biting. Don't know till you go..
Head shake, head shake, wooo wooo wooo.
