Being a good parent actually requires a willingness to learn about your kids, know who they are as individuals and work on how to communicate with them in a way that best allows you to impart all your knowledge, wisdom, understanding etc. in a manner that helps them become the best version of themselves, without trying to overwrite their personality, hopes, dreams, and desires with your own. ☹️I honestly don't know if we're ever going to get that Lu/Jana face off in court.

I have to say that I kinda favor episode 2 because it shows, even when briefly, Valentina on the other side of the coin where she is going through a harder time bc of her past unresolved trauma and Lu is there with her giving her that same support Val gave her when she was going through her tough times. 1. Beginning scene: I just have one comment - CATARINA IS DELULU. But then, episode 3 kinda made it make sense or whatever 🙄🙄🙄 2. VaLu Living room scene: YES 💯 Lu always gives Val this reassurance that she can express herself and she doesn’t have to carry her burden by herself. It is a beautiful thing when in a relationship you can feel like you can be heard and this is something Valentina never had, well not with Jana, so she always closes up and Lu is that partner who makes her feel safe to share what she is thinking. I LOVE IT. 3. Igor/Duda convo: Igor 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️IIIGGGOORR MY MAN COME ON! 6:24 I had the same reaction too… I mean I get it that he is right in saying that it’s true Val and Jana relationship has not been easy but THIS IS NOT THE MOMENT. But then 😂😂😂 What follows when he said “I’m sorry” I was like OKAY FINE! I like you again. 4. VaLu: My baby Val suffered this episode and of course I wanted to hug her 😩🥰😩 that whole scene from the bed where Val can’t sleep and tossing and turning to Val crying in this bathroom 😩😩😩 THE ACTING!!! And so many other things, now this explains why Catarina has always disliked Luiza even when she says otherwise and has been on Valentina because basically Jana feels like Valentina is the typical kid with rich parents who just threw her life in the garbage…. First of all I’m glad Dad finally said someshit with his chest cause he was being too nice. I was with you too confused cause in the book LU being a high powered attorney was so import to her character. The way Val spoke life and Confidence back into LU by telling her she trust her was too adorable 🥹
Episode 3 and 4 explains more about Caterina's actions and VaLu's life. It was about time Marcos stood up to his wife and Igor stopped sticking up for his mum. As for VaLu, they were amazing as always.

igor is the typical case of "mom's little boy". The blind faith he has on Catarina is something to admire although is so freaking annoying when someone confront him and he just say "the relantionship between them was never easy" How tf Duda is married to this type of guy lol
They had such perfect arc in season 1, very slices of life in season 2, the specials helped to fulfill the story better; but this third season is so lost. I think they have a great plot here with the lawsuit but they would have to have more time, the whole season to do properly. I lived that with my son and husband, and I was very active lawyer in the case but we had another lawyer to represent us, cause you can't do a good job alone with such emotional case. We won the case with my persistence with our defense and no agreement that was not favorable to our side, which was fair and full of evidence; not just the pressure to finish. We tried a lot to reach an agreement before with them; we paid therapists and lawyers for this, and my husband's family was brutal with us. So, after a point, an agreement no longer made sense, especially if it didn't benefit us. There was a lot of pressure from the judge and the prosecutor, including threats, but I asked for a trial because they didn't bring any evidence and at each hearing they changed their arguments. It was a relief when we won in advance due to the lack of legal basis as we had requested. This arc would be perfect in the season that Ponto built. I don't know why they make other decisions, because of what I lived with a narcissistic mother-in-law and a family that didn't put limits on her, what follows Valu's story isn't believable for me in such a short time, Valentina's mother is a bad person, blind in her ego, there's no miracle. ....
I get Lu's decisions, I practiced for good years in extreme situations where I gained a really good financial return that helped me resolve many issues in my family, which that time was just me and my younger brother (after going through a lot of pain in losing our parents very earl). But the traumatic situations I went through, the ones me and my brother went through made me want to work in something with less stress, especially because the area I loved working as a lawyer was not close to where I had to follow the inventory processes of my mother and maternal grandparents. It was a lot, and I am very grateful to be a lawyer when I experienced that suitcase and other legal challenges in my life and my loved ones. I adore teaching too and interacting with students and teaching them makes me happy where Law was no longer good for me. So I understand Lu's plot, I just think they should have made it clearer in the script. She experienced severe postpartum depression, a car accident, an abortion... She had every reason to slow down and take a break from Law, go to another area that didn't cause her so much stress and deadlines.
I agree with you completely. You can see them struggling more and more with the plot as time goes on. I also think the lawsuit plotline could have been very good but probably they didn't have enough time to develop it fully. Oh wow, your story is so striking. In real life it might be months or years of animosity and a severe shock before she comes to see the truth.

Even Lu is saying she doesn't know where her passion for law/ confidence went but it's not that; it's more that probably at some point of their marriage, maybe after she became pregnant with Leo, it made sense to slow down a bit and Luisa transitioned to the dance studio for a less hectic career that still gave her joy. As you've also noted, she suffered a lot of trauma's which may have also played their part in her taking a step back from law👍🏽👍🏽

And the idea that Luiza could represent them its ludicrous because family law is not the same as civil law, and like you said... she hasnt practice in year or even remember doing it! I get your frustration more than you can imagine. And belive me, I had my flamethrower at the ready till ep. 3 happend... No further comments for now.🤐 2. Both scenes in the livingroom and in the bedroom (btw Reis realy fell asleep in that bed. Method actress to the core🤣🤣🤣) are all, hands down, Bubu's acting skills show. She really can nail these quiet, intimate scenes. It's very enjoyable watching how both Pris are so different in their approach with portraying these characters, and which acting techniques they put in it. The contrast betwixt them is so beautifully crafted. While Reis' Lu is all fire, vibrant, straight forward and direct with her goals and clear views, Buiar's Valen is very nuanced, subtle and even withdrawn sometimes. Most of her solo/emotional scenes are enacted on the udertones and face expressions.🤌👏👏👏 I'm also in awe of how different from Valentina Buiar is. From body language (from 4:20 all that monologue with body movements, the very masculine sitting pose!), through clothing style, to voice tonality and timbre. Exquisite perfromance! Reis even admitted that she had a lot in common with Lu. Bubu and Valen not so much 😅 3. Duda/Igor scene 🤣🤣🤣 I can't with you in 6:26 clutching them pearls.😂 Same girl, same 😂 Even his weak af apologies didn't do it for me. "I'm sorry... booo. I know mommy bad...booo. But I have to admit that Igor's character is a very realistic portrait of an average man in a patriarchal/conservative society. I witnessed and still witness it in mine and other families. When woman enters her husband's family, she's very often treated as an outsider/stranger/threat, even years into the marriage. Boys/men are taught from early on, to be respectful to the matriarchs in the family, but they are often spoiled and don't acquire that critical thinking in regard to their mothers/grandmothers. They will put their mothers/grandmothers on pedestal, ignoring their wives' complaints... it's sickening. There are a lot of animosities betwin dils and mils and it's infuriating, beacuse it's normalised. Mama's boy is always perfect and obedient... So, as much as I want to punch Igor in the face, I can see what they did with his character. It’s one of those things that you just kind of know but it’s hard to describe until someone lays it out for you and then it’s like yeeeeeesss, that! Lool, yeah, I can also appreciate the story they’re trying to tell with Igor and the lessons that can be learnt from him. In the dil/mil dynamic, it’s almost as if the men of the family take it that, these are women, women will fight and be catty so the animosity is to be expected and they just kind of shrug their shoulders and look the other way. I get how it might be hard to have spent some 25-30 years raising someone and only to feel replaced as the “most important woman in his life” but (in my opinion) a lot of mothers in law just need to chill and take two steps back. They’re constantly overstepping their boundaries trying to treat their sons like children and dictate what needs to happen in their families. Part of the issue is that their sons let them and dils often don’t feel it’s their place to make that correction, so when they do, it’s taken as them being rude or uppity. So glad you said that about parents. It's like my yearly rant. It's so bizarre how many parents feel like all they have to do to be a good parent is to provide food, shelter and no abuse. I have to say that I kinda favor episode 2 because it shows, even when briefly, Valentina on the other side of the coin where she is going through a harder time bc of her past unresolved trauma and Lu is there with her giving her that same support Val gave her when she was going through her tough times.
1. Beginning scene: I just have one comment - CATARINA IS DELULU. But then, episode 3 kinda made it make sense or whatever 🙄🙄🙄
2. VaLu Living room scene: YES 💯 Lu always gives Val this reassurance that she can express herself and she doesn’t have to carry her burden by herself. It is a beautiful thing when in a relationship you can feel like you can be heard and this is something Valentina never had, well not with Jana, so she always closes up and Lu is that partner who makes her feel safe to share what she is thinking. I LOVE IT.
3. Igor/Duda convo: Igor 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️IIIGGGOORR MY MAN COME ON! 6:24 I had the same reaction too… I mean I get it that he is right in saying that it’s true Val and Jana relationship has not been easy but THIS IS NOT THE MOMENT. And so many other things, now this explains why Catarina has always disliked Luiza even when she says otherwise and has been on Valentina because basically Jana feels like Valentina is the typical kid with rich parents who just threw her life in the garbage…. 10. I completely get what you mean. If you’ve practiced extensively for a while, things kind of come back to you I think, like riding a bike. The law doesn’t usually prevent you from representing yourself in a case where you have a significant interest but it’s definitely not advised.
I think, if they had just taken the time to let the conflict with Catarina unfold properly and be resolved properly, including those scenes of Valentina being depressed/ angry and Lu taking care of her, convincing her to go for therapy etc. season 3 would have been much better and much more powerful.

I think they have a great plot here with the lawsuit but they would have to have more time, the whole season to do properly. I lived that with my son and husband, and I was very active lawyer in the case but we had another lawyer to represent us, cause you can't do a good job alone with such emotional case. We won the case with my persistence with our defense and no agreement that was not favorable to our side, which was fair and full of evidence; not just the pressure to finish. We tried a lot to reach an agreement before with them; we paid therapists and lawyers for this, and my husband's family was brutal with us. So, after a point, an agreement no longer made sense, especially if it didn't benefit us. There was a lot of pressure from the judge and the prosecutor, including threats, but I asked for a trial because they didn't bring any evidence and at each hearing they changed their arguments. It was a relief when we won in advance due to the lack of legal basis as we had requested. This arc would be perfect in the season that Ponto built. I don't know why they make other decisions, because of what I lived with a narcissistic mother-in-law and a family that didn't put limits on her, what follows Valu's story isn't believable for me in such a short time, Valentina's mother is a bad person, blind in her ego, there's no miracle.

I get Lu's decisions, I practiced for good years in extreme situations where I gained a really good financial return that helped me resolve many issues in my family, which that time was just me and my younger brother (after going through a lot of pain in losing our parents very earl). But the traumatic situations I went through, the ones me and my brother went through made me want to work in something with less stress, especially because the area I loved working as a lawyer was not close to where I had to follow the inventory processes of my mother and maternal grandparents. It was a lot, and I am very grateful to be a lawyer when I experienced that suitcase and other legal challenges in my life and my loved ones. I adore teaching too and interacting with students and teaching them makes me happy where Law was no longer good for me. So I understand Lu's plot, I just think they should have made it clearer in the script. She experienced severe postpartum depression, a car accident, an abortion... She had every reason to slow down and take a break from Law, go to another area that didn't cause her so much stress and deadlines.
I agree with you completely. You can see them struggling more and more with the plot as time goes on. I also think the lawsuit plotline could have been very good but probably they didn't have enough time to develop it fully.

I also think they should have made her journey a bit clearer. Even Lu is saying she doesn't know where her passion for law/ confidence went but it's not that; it's more that probably at some point of their marriage, maybe after she became pregnant with Leo, it made sense to slow down a bit and Luisa transitioned to the dance studio for a less hectic career that still gave her joy.
As you've also noted, she suffered a lot of trauma's which may have also played their part in her taking a step back from law👍🏽👍🏽

1. So that first scene with Catarina, eh... I get your frustration more than you can imagine. And belive me, I had my flamethrower at the ready till ep. 3 happend... No further comments for now.🤐
2. Both scenes in the livingroom and in the bedroom (btw Reis realy fell asleep in that bed. Method actress to the core🤣🤣🤣) are all, hands down, Bubu's acting skills show. She really can nail these quiet, intimate scenes. It's very enjoyable watching how both Pris are so different in their approach with portraying these characters, and which acting techniques they put in it. The contrast betwixt them is so beautifully crafted. While Reis' Lu is all fire, vibrant, straight forward and direct with her goals and clear views, Buiar's Valen is very nuanced, subtle and even withdrawn sometimes. Most of her solo/emotional scenes are enacted on the udertones and face expressions.🤌👏👏👏
I'm also in awe of how different from Valentina Buiar is. From body language (from 4:20 all that monologue with body movements, the very masculine sitting pose!), through clothing style, to voice tonality and timbre. Exquisite perfromance!
Reis even admitted that she had a lot in common with Lu. Bubu and Valen not so much 😅
3. Duda/Igor scene 🤣🤣🤣 I can't with you in 6:26 clutching them pearls.😂 Same girl, same 😂 Even his weak af apologies didn't do it for me. "I'm sorry... booo. I know mommy bad...booo. You were right that mommy bad...booo whoooo."😒😒😒 Nah man. As you said, too little, too late. But I have to admit that Igor's character is a very realistic portrait of an average man in a patriarchal/conservative society. I witnessed and still witness it in mine and other families. When woman enters her husband's family, she's very often treated as an outsider/stranger/threat, even years into the marriage. Boys/men are taught from early on, to be respectful to the matriarchs in the family, but they are often spoiled and don't acquire that critical thinking in regard to their mothers/grandmothers. They will put their mothers/grandmothers on pedestal, ignoring their wives' complaints... it's sickening. There are a lot of animosities betwin dils and mils and it's infuriating, beacuse it's normalised. Mama's boy is always perfect and obedient... So, as much as I want to punch Igor in the face, I can see what they did with his character. It also shows how toxic Catarina's narcissism is for all of the members of the family.

Although, I would love to see really jelly Lu facing Val. And the thing you said in 19:42 abt other women throwing themselves on Val, hitting on her and flirting with her while Luiza is wintnessing all of that. That’s the sad thing though. This is really how men be out here acting. It’s one of those things that you just kind of know but it’s hard to describe until someone lays it out for you and then it’s like yeeeeeesss, that!

In the dil/mil dynamic, it’s almost as if the men of the family take it that, these are women, women will fight and be catty so the animosity is to be expected and they just kind of shrug their shoulders and look the other way. I get how it might be hard to have spent some 25-30 years raising someone and only to feel replaced as the “most important woman in his life” but (in my opinion) a lot of mothers in law just need to chill and take two steps back. They’re constantly overstepping their boundaries trying to treat their sons like children and dictate what needs to happen in their families. Part of the issue is that their sons let them and dils often don’t feel it’s their place to make that correction, so when they do, it’s taken as them being rude or uppity. It’s a mess but proves that all you need to have an absolute crapfest is really for a few good men to do nothing🙄
