@@HillPhantom I put the opal into repeater mode and tested all the network cables. All cables had full speed similar to connecting directly the Starlink router. Only 2 connections left are the POE injector and the dishy to Network cable adaptor.
I've been looking for precisely this sort of gadget to directly power dishy from my 48V battery system. Got both devices and it worked pretty much right from the get-go. I was able to remove the DC-AC-DC conversion and remove the wifi router entirely in favor of my own. A+. I have two comments. First, the black ethernet cable that was included with the adapter actually had some contact issues and my LAN only negotiated 10BaseT half-duplex, but replacing it with any old GigE ethernet cable solved that issue. So check the link speed. My second comment is that people should be sure when connecting up the 48VDC to put a glass automotive fuse inline with the positive, rated for 3A or 3.15A or so. This is a passive injector which means that it does not have the normal power safeties that active injectors have. Use an inline slo-blo glass fuse because we're talking about 48V here and normal automotive blade fuses are only rated to 32V. I'm a very happy camper. Dishy is consuming a lot less power now. Generally between 25W and 40W now. Before it was eating 60W plus additional inefficiencies from the DC-AC-DC conversions. -Matt
During the worst conditions: (1) snow-melt is on at low air temperatures, (2) both download and upload traffic is active, your Dishy V2 can consume up to twice more.
Something weird happened to mine. Yaosheng also. around 4-5 months ago, i tested it, and stumble into the same problem as your pinned comment so i abandoned this idea. But at least the power consumption were indeed small, at around 40watts draw from battery. Fast forward to last week, i retested it, and now the power draw is even more than with AC power, at 80watts standby. Although the speeds has become equal with the original setup.
So, I have not tested it yet, but I do know other dishes require more AMPS to power it. That would just mean you need a bigger convertor to get the right amps to Starlink. I recall Gen 3 uses more amps for example than my gen 2. I would check the amps on the dish, also check with YAOSHENG before you purchase as they may have new versions and perhaps "made for x type of starlink". I need to revisit this a bit myself, as I am looking at trying to get the newest little dishy! Thank you by the way or the watch and comment! Cheers.
Maybe you should think of putting an in-line (12 Amp) fuse from the 12 V battery to your 48V/5V inverter, in the event you have short, it will prevent a fire!

@@traviswolf The only error is I put the wrong diagram of a cross over cable. No other errors the system you see that I built works fine. I just accidentally put wrong diagram of a crossover cable which is not needed if you buy the adapters I am using.
Did you use any kind of connector for the power cables into the POE injector? What gauge wire? I'm trying to put 10AWG cables into mine and so far it seems like not enough room, not sure if I need a fork connector or something.
Hi! Yes its has the ability to many things but certainly set SSID's usernames passwords DNS and the like. Might even do VPN and VLANS I can't recall. But certainly the owner can change and set the user password. I actually enjoy the back end of the router.
Hi I wonder if anyone can assist me. I have almost identical setup to this with the exception of using the Meanwell 48V transformer. I can get it all setup, Starlink boots up and does its thing and finds satellites. When it gets to the last stage of determining its orientation, it disconnects. I then have to restart it again and then the process starts all over again. I have managed to get it to connect only once so far. When I revert back to the original router there is no problem.
Hi many thanks for your response. I actually managed to get this to finally work yesterday. It seems to be that the issue was the Starlink was set on residential rather than roam or mobile. It seems even though I was still at my home address it thought I was trying to use it from another location when I connected it to the 12V system rather than through the original Starlink router.@@HillPhantom

I bought this whole kit only to find out that it doesn’t work with Starlink generation 3. So don’t follow this exactly if you have Gen 3. If you do want to follow this method I bought the whole kit and will sell it to you for a discount as it’s outside return window. Just reply to this comment and we will connect somehow. I spent $233 for two converters, router, and two yaosheng adapters. Will sell it for $150 or best offer.

I've done the same however speeds have dropped to under 1Mbps. Back to Starlink router and speeds back up. New network cables as well. Any ideas?

No need for POE injector that YAOSHENG handles all that! I used I think 12 gauge wire and it fit well. I know this is late but how did you end up?
