- This video is a compilation of some of Rook's coolest moments from Ben 10: Omniverse. Rook is my favourite character and I wish to share his awesome chadness with the fandom.

Rook was a character that had a lot to prove given he was effectively replacing Gwen and Kevin as Bens partner and foil but I'm glad they succeeded in making him not only cool but charming in his own way. I love him so much.
My fav part is, they not make him as replacement of Gwen and Kevin. İnstead they make him his own thing.

I like how Rook takes the "alien doesn't understand human slang" thing another step further by him not understanding human speech mannerisms. He copies Ben when he's speaking slowly, thinking that it is now Speak Slowly Time, he doesn't understand the concept of the comma. I love it all
Rook is practically exact opposite of Ben in terms of personality. I love it.

The way I see it:
Rook is like a big brother to Ben, especially when the Omnitrix user gets hurt or out of commission
(He still made an appearance in Kuro's 5 Years Later, assisting Ben in his heroics
Ben isn't used to transforming at will despite having the Master Control, you'll see a panel of him using the Omnitrix manually)
He'd lay his life down on the line for Ben, no matter how high or steep the price would be
One of the best characters that Omniverse had to offer
As far as I know 5YL is not cannon. Anyway I agree, they have such a great relationship

I'd say because the artstyle downgrade, some redesigns and Ben's personality being completely different from one season to another.
I liked it but I understand. Also omniverse forces a lot of commedy in.
@@nothere3982 How exactly is this artstyle a "downgrade"? It's just different, and that doesn't have to be a bad thing. It looks very cool and unique, people like you just can't handle change.
@@justsomeguyontheinternet562 yep it's a downgrade in my book. Anatomy is out the window in this I've seen the reference sheets, some redesigns are a lot worse than the original ones and there really seem to be several last moment fixes.
It's better than the reboot for example (animation flow, design) in this aspect and the colours are way way better than in ua/af. But compared to the original series or the au/af they have gotten worse.
There's nothing about change on this. Change is cool, the animation is way better than the other series, and I'm glad, but the art style is not great.

He’s one of the best parts of Omniverse, kinda wish he was introduced in Ultimate Alien before Omniverse, maybe in Basic Training, it’d make the first interaction between Ben and Rook in Omniverse more interesting.

I’m not sure if it’s real or not, but I heard rumors that Tak (the alien from Basic Training with the Mohawk) was a candidate for the sort of role Rook took one. But again, I’m not sure how credible this is so take it with some salt

I love the big blue kitty man! He was definitely a great addition.
I personally felt during UAF that Ben should have gotten an alien partner or assigned a Plumber team instead of staying around Gwen and Kevin all the time. In AF it was fine since in OS Gwen and Max were his partners and Kevin was an antagonist, so when Kevin became *good* to replace Max, felt like Ben was growing up.
Even Max's fake death scene and him encouraging Ben to find other Plumber kids, was a great way to ween the audience off of Gwen and Max's constant presence. Yeah Gwen stuck around throughout AF, but if they wanted to write her out or reduce her direct involvement, they had many opportunities before the finally and the finally itself of AF.
Say if the *Hero's United* episode happened right between the end of AF and the start of UAF, Rex could have been brought in as Ben's new partner (if Generator Rex had ended with Rex choosing to leave his universe after curing every thing or something to avoid creating more EVOs). Gwen's involvement could have been reduced as she goes after Kevin or decided to focus on practicing magic, but joined them on occasion if having a *female protagonist* was important and it didn't make sense for Julie, Eunice, or even Kai to show up.
Then there is always the possibility of introducing Rook in UAF if he was planned at all, or even mentioning that the Plumbers Academy had a few star students looking to be assigned as Ben's permanent new partner/handler, so Gwen could focus on school/her future plans. Kevin also could have mentioned he found being a mercenary for hire is more fun/easier to be than being an official Plumber.
(However Ben is also considered a mercenary/neutral party by the Plumbers as his duty as the Weilder of the Omnitrix is to be an ambassador to all species, according to OV/Max. Which makes him legal *game* as humans are considered *animals* similar to live stock or wild game unless they work for a recognized organization then they are similar to police dogs, justifying why Kyber isn't arrested for harassing/poaching Ben for sport hunting.).
Anyway Rook, in my opinion, was a great addition and much needed to not wear out Gwen and Kevin's narrative contributions to the series. He allowed them to have lives outside of Ben and at the same time introduced more stories to be told and discovered through his past/personality completely removed from Ben's history.
Rook Blonko is easily my favourite Ben 10 character.
Honestly, Rook reminds me a lot of Kakashi, I even made him his own universe where he has the Omnitrix seriously it's the best thing they've ever created in the entire ben 10 saga

This probably one of the best Ben 10 series because of Rook and his friendship with Ben as Intergalactic cops but I always wondered what Rook would look like in they made this series a live action 🎬 one

In all honesty, I loved his dynamic with Ben, as it felt he could better deal with Ben’s ego than his previous partners with his wit and dry humor.
Additionally, it felt their dynamic had the right amount of contrast/complement between the two. Ben was more play-it-by-the-ear, while Rook was by-the-book. Ben was more experienced while Rook was a rookie, in both fighting villains and earth culture. Ben was the Wise Guy while Rook was the Straight Man.
Overall, I loved seeing him going from a bit-of-naive rookie to a true partner with Ben.
However, a common criticism I have seen others have of Rook is that his dynamic with Ben partly relies on Ben being a bit immature, which some people see as a downgrade from his personality in UAF. This usually leads to further criticism of Ben’s character since Alien Force, with many viewers feeling Ben had a detrimental decrease in maturity since Season 1 of Alien Force. Personally, I don’t share this criticism, as I kind of liked that inner conflict with Ben, that he could be a bit immature and has some ego, but he always knew when “It’s Hero Time!” Really, I just enjoy confidence in my favorite characters.
season 1 af i think made a big mistake of ben going mature early on. it was a major development at the time consider it was a big change for audiences from bratty kid ben we all know... but when making ben mature there's not really much going for with the characters have so they slowly downgrade him from time to time to the point of being annoying. we always love ben being a kid but we wish him mature and all would be the end goal not during the first season.

What do you want to do? If you want a ***true*** continuation of the CC I recommend following Omniverse (you can use Celestialsapians in your fic later on to retcon the events you didn’t like). I feel like a time skip might be necessary for obvious reasons. Maybe take some notes from Kuro’s 5YL and give your Ben master control. Maybe develop Ben more as character (write off Rook so you can focus more on Ben).
I just wish rook met alien force s2 ben, then he would truly see that the man lived up to the legends
