  • First check out www.daniellech... just super stuff! Danielle if you do not know is an artist and my good friend of over 30 plus years. We both been busy so not so much time for fishing lately but we got out today and away from the city onto Rockaway beach. Danielle pulled out a big old sting ray on the beach and we later went into the back on Danielle's call and we caught a nice keeper striped bass. More important then the fishing we had time to reflect on the past and catch up on the future. That is what friends do. I never told Danielle this but she also helped make me the better man I am today. Thank you. Always there!

    She's baaaa-aaaack! My daughter is ALWAYS asking where she is lol I saw one swimming up the inlet last year that looked like a damn stealth bomber under water. Incredible size. I've never tried it, just the skates that make delicious Sashimi. I read the hog nose rays are almost a red meat and taste kinda like veal. I'd think the typical rays are white and mild. I think anyone who uses the term "trash fish" really has no clue how to use anything in the kitchen.... Have you made bouillabaisse yet with any striped bass this year? Always looking forward to the cooking videos! I've enjoyed everything from bluefish burgers to dogfish cakes this year already. I really wanna hit a mixed bag Sashimi this weekend. Fluke, skate, and sea Robin. The Korean market by me has gorgeous live abalone that i always like to toss in there too!

      It was nice to see Danielle been a few months so I had a chance to catch up. I never tried the rays skates yes they are great! Have not kept many fish yet but I see a caty trip hopefully soon! Sea robins are just great really the ideal fish was looking at some fat ones today thinking about keeping a few another day though!

    Hi Jerry, Great to see Danielle back on the beach. You need to get her a new beach chair. She likes to be relaxing while she's fishing. Looks like you both had a very nice day on the water. We've been having a strong east wind lately and it makes for tough fishing. Take care and say "Hi" to Danielle.

    Jerry, Rockaway Beach was an area that I got to know after college...I was living in West Hempstead and always had fishing gear in my trunk...working for Minuteman Printers on Hempstead Turnpike three days a week ...I had to deliver business cards down to Rockaway Beach all the time...if I caught all the lights and finished my stops early I would hit the deli for a regular coffee and buttered roll then head over to the beach to fish...I also worked for E.J. Korvettes out in Levittown too...Cheers from Maine.

      You can do this! Just fish a good size bait on the bottom. I think they're partial to clam but they're scavengers so they'll eat most anything. You can probably catch at least one a year. Good luck!

    Great video as always…quick question when baiting the circle hook it seems as tho the bunker is hooked barely through the skin is that for filming or do you cast it that way. It seems one good tug and it would be pulled right off especially from a striper. Thanks as always. Anthony

    • @FishYourWay
      @FishYourWay  2 года назад +2

      Good question Anthony, YES. Good bunker has a very firm tight belly and with the circle thats where you get the maximum clearance and it will stay on. Old bunker will tear up you have to go through the back.

      Striper and big blues, shark as well. As Erwin says your bigger striper and giant blues will take em, they will take whole bunker as well. i just tend to lean into the body more so until I run low save them for last thats when I use em, had your fish and now your looking for that big one
