I strongly agree that everybody needs a physical, cerebral, and creative hobby, but not for the sake of attraction. You will always be less motivated to do a hobby that is extrinsically motivated rather than one you enjoy without the perceptions of others

I can't find a girlfriend, I don't look good enough for dating apps, sometimes I get matches but then I get ghosted. Every girl I write on Instagram instantly ignores me bevause she doesn't know me in reallife. I study something with 95% of boys and I don't have a social circle, I don't really need a social circle since I'm fine doing productive things at home or the gym.
But that never will bring me a girlfriend... Any other ideas than just working on my goals?

I personally believe that you should do all of the things you do in your own life for yourself. Im not saying to be selfish but at the end of the day you will only have yourself. Having your hobbies tailored in terms of how attractive you feel they are to other people or social standards is extremely ugly on an existential level. You don’t need to rationalize why or what you love in terms of categories or disciplines. That’s the beauty of hobbies, they don’t need to be beholden to any pressures, they are what you love. Im all for people exploring what they love to do creatively, spiritually, and self-improvement wise as a whole but there’s no reason for things to have to be status indicators of attractiveness or high performance . I don’t know why so many young men think like this.

I think it's almost like a hook. I tried playing guitar because I liked how it looked and felt. I also heard Gary Clark Jr and King Crimson and many more. Would you say that is, as you wrote, "how attractive you feel they are to other people or social standards"? I didn't know a single thing about guitars before it, just that it looked cool. Every hobby, at some point, needs it's own hook. If it gets people to try something, why is it any problem? I understand you are looking at this from an "intrinsic love" perspective, but I don't think people should be shamed for, let's say going to the gym so that they look better in clothes or something. You need that hook to fall in love in the first place, it's like how people start the gym to get girls but then they stay in their even after that because they just fell in love. But I do agree that people need to try out other things aswell. One love breda.

gym/crossfit (it's not a bunch of stupid kipping pullups, the workouts are super good where I train),
Latino dance (this can be approached creatively but it's mostly cerebral for guys),
guitar (once again kind of cerebral, music theory and the like, but I guess I'm just not at the level where I can express myself).
I have zero free time but I love it.

Great video collin, everything you said was spot on. Hobbies are basically your personality and so its essential that you build upon them. I am only 18 years old and I lift weights, box, play sports, read books, play chess, and like to shoot and edit photos and videos. But the one thing I struggle with is I want to learn an instrument like the guitar or the piano, but when I see people like you who have been practicing an instrument for such a long time, I get kind of discouraged from starting, believing that I'll never be as good as you.
I think its meaningless to think like this, because the past is gone, the future will never come, so the only thing I have is the present and I should make the best use of it. The time is goning to pass anyway, so I might as well be a 20-year-old who knows to play an instrument.

Collin, my chad do you think you could make a video about study techniques that are effective and specifically for cs majors. I have seen quite a bunch of these types of videos but for med students and very little for engineers.

It's a bad idea to pursue a passion based on whether it would look attractive to someone else. Such amounts to living one's life based on what others think. Forget about how attractive it looks. Such would beba phony version of yourselves. And you definitely don't want to cave in to women in this way. Instead of putting up a front for someone else, how about doing what you love?? In this way, you'll be authentic and guess what: Women love authentic men. Being authentic is a form of strength and is a leadership quality! And in being authentic, the RIGHT woman will see the REAL you, and if not, she either doesn't want YOU in the first place or she's probably no good for you anyway!!

Physical hobbies: Skateboarding and the gym (if the gym even counts)
    Creative hobby: Electric guitar
Cerebral hobbies: video games and anime if that even counts at all🤣🤣
I’m an information systems student but I would not call my career a hobby by any means.

Be you. Stop chasing hobbies that the majority are doing or if you think it is nice to say that you are doing so and so hobby. You will never be satisfied with the time you spend on that hobby, but it is necessary to take care of yourself so make going to the gym your hobby and so on. Please don't follow the crowd, You are unique your own way.
