The cat could be a neighborhood cat, like that people take care of, feed, neuter/spay, etc. but who doesn’t have an actual owner. When I lived in Baton Rouge, every street in my neighborhood had its own set of cats who were super friendly and who got food, attention and care from a bunch of houses.
@@Diridonda my cat had a double life for awhile, she would come home smelling like soup and have a bandana on, I couldn't keep her forever so I had to ask around the street trying to find her second owner/caretaker
in response to the cat that keeps coming to your porch… if the cat looks well fed, 9 times out of 10 it’s going to every house in the neighbourhood begging for extra food because it’s greedy 😂
These different rules for renting are fascinating. I am from Germany, and I am bound by contract to paint the walls in the bathroom every three years, in the kitchen every five years and every other room I have to paint every seven years. I can choose whatever color I want as long as it is a light color (which does not matter) when I am leaving. I can drill wholes in the walls as many as I like. I guess this is because we have mostly stone/brick walls which are easily filled with plaster.
@@sydmac As long as I don't endanger the structural integrity of the building, I can do anything, I guess. And as long as I get the apartment back to it's original form when I move out.
Very interesting. I'm from Germany too, but we don't have those painting rules at all. The only rule we have is to do a fresh coat of paint when we move out. That's it. (My building is a new building though, built 2016. So perhaps that's why it differs?)
@@sreliata from Germany too.. and we have the same rules like you! I think this is the most common. never heard of the others rules with the kitchen and bath walls
Regarding the cat you’ve been seeing: they sound to me like someone’s outdoor/indoor cat. Given how friendly they are they’re certainly not feral; do they look well fed and clean? If not then they may be a local stray that used to be a pet but was lost or abandoned, but based on your description they’re probably fine
Depending on where you are, you can get some pretty friendly ferals! I'm in an area with way too many ferals, but on the bright side that means the ones that frequent your yard tend to get pretty comfy! Every now and then one will manage to sneak into the house lol. It's actually pretty nice, aside from being indicative of a massive feral animal problem that the city only deals with through euthanasia instead of preventative programs....
You can ask a couple neighbours about the cat. But if you don't want to, you can attach a note to it by making a collar with some paper that you have written on. Ask if it has a home cause your concerned and put which house you are in or a way to contact you so you get an answer from the owner when it returns home.
I believe if the roof is tall/wide enough a sim can go inside a roof! So you could have done this as the 9th floor too! Not 100% sure but I believe i used to do that to create extra space for my christmas decor box and stuff
I LOVE how accurate all of this is, also when I was younger my parents rented an apartment and we were allowed to do whatever we wanted we could paint the walls, put stuff on the walls, have candles, everything y'know, but when I moved in to my own apartment the only rule my landlord had was no painting the walls. Also, GOOD LUCK ON YOUR NEW HOUSE :)
On the cat thing: outside of asking neighbors, you can also check for a mark, like a tattoo on the inside of the ear. Even if it's not known to be someone's, if the fur is clean and smooth and the eyes clear, it should be fine.
For the cat situation, I don't know if it's different in Canada but in France it's pretty normal to let your cat roam around. My advice is that if the cat seems healthy, clean and fed, it means he probably has owners so just pet it if you want but i recommand not fedding it because you never know if a cat has allergies or not and please don't steal it haha Besides very happy for you new house
i know this was 4 months ago (wow) but in the UK its normal too! My cats roam outside ALL THE TIME because they are outdoor cats ahaha, what i usually do when i see a stray cat is feed it only a little bit.
Our house came with a cat, too 😅 It belongs to a neighbor down the street and is basically like the cat you described. Super sweet and cuddly, and the whole neighborhood loves him 😊
Something I remember when i was living in an apartment was when i couldn't use the dryer in the apartment because it was own by the landlord. They were living upstairs and using it. So i could wash my clothes but not dry it. 😂
I always smile when I see a new video from you on my homepage. I was just binge watching older videos yesterday since I missed you! 😂 I would love to see a space station build with a CAS video of sims from all the planets in the solar system. You could even do a reality house dating competition where the earth sim has to find their intergalactic lover ❤
About the cat situation: First, I would definitely get into contact with a few of your neighbors, ask them if they know anything (and just to meet them) if no one knows anything I'd say start to gain the cats trust enough to the point where you could take it the vet, they can give it a check up to make sure its healthy and doing alright and can likely also scan for a micro-chip to see if it has an owner. If it does have an owner but you dont know how to contact them, I'd tell local shelters you have the cat if anyone comes looking for it, and may put up found cat posters or ads on local social media pages. hope this helps
Ive never seen your channel before this video and let me say you are so talented at interiors! I personally think that’s where a lot of builders go wrong; even if the house is beautiful on the outside, but your interiors are so well done! You use just the right amount of clutter to make it look lived in but still cartoonish, if that makes sense, and create cohesive spaces and themes without it looking like a furniture pack! Plus this video specifically proves you have lots of range! Very inspiring! ❤
Great job on the exterior i was shocked when i heard you couldn’t mount things to the walls. In the uk in general you can hang stuff as long as you fill the holes before you leave
it can be a friendly outdoor neighborhood cat who just loves to perch on different porches. if you're unsure, you can bring it to the vet or local animal shelter for chip scan and if it doesn't have one, well, good old method asking around the neighborhood might do
it's always crazy hearing about rules in other countries, the last house 2 houses I've lived in were rentals and like the obvious rules are, "don't destroy the house", but if you ask the owner you can basically do anything, we have painted and drilled holes in the walls, and I know of people that have done entire renovations
- i think my headcanon for the 3rd floor tenants is that they're best friends who've known each other since they were kids and have a mutual dream of being a music duo. this is their first apartment ever and because they're so close they didn't have a problem with sharing a bedroom until they can save up for a bigger apartment. they're also both a lil goth and one of them streams games on twitch to a growing audience. - 4th floor tenant has been around the block when it comes to apartment hunting, she had to lie about not having the cat because she's been on a pretty tight deadline when it comes to finding a new place. i imagine she's probably a teacher, early to mid 30s and an absolutely doting mother to her cat who's gotten a little chunky over the years. (not alarmingly overweight but he's a lil heavier and she's trying to get him back down to a healthier size.) she's had the cat for a few years and he was originally a stray that lived around the school she works at, her students love him just as much as she does. :) - 2nd floor tenant is a college student getting her degree in game design, she's currently working on an indie game passion project. definitely one of the sweetest tenants in the building, she also knows about the 4th floor tenant's cat but keeps hush-hush about it. she is also trans because that's just how i picture her in my head. (that's all i've got, i'd love to know other people's headcanons for the other tenants tho)
syd! my sister adopted a cat (his name is frank) who is the most calm and apathetic cat i have ever seen, he is completely unfazed no matter what, loves people loves the outdoors loves our dogs even! we genuinely thought he had to have been someone's pet that got lost but he's really just that chill! so it's entirely possible that the cat distribution system has chosen you 🥳 no one can escape
It would be cool to have these little apartments all from a different game pack! Like a western, a journey to batu one, a traveler one! Something like that lol
Omg this house is AMAZING! This is also totally my aesthetic. I just imagine an adventurous crafty witch living here. Running around each land and finding all the crystals and charging them with different properties. This space emulates that. Great job! ❤❤❤
TECHICALLY, I think you can even make it a false 10-floor building if you raise the platforms up to a height that matches the height of your rooms. I'd have to double check, but I feel like you can get it to be similar to at least the small wall height. You can add windows to give it the illusion of being the first lower level of a townhouse with a raised entrace.
omg! seeing life makeover is so surprising! i never expected them to reach out for sponsors and to see one of my favourite sims youtuber talk about it made me very happy! life makeover has got to be one of my favourite mobile games and ive played since release so its really nice to see the game grow!
I just want to say thank you for the content you do. I can’t stop watching your videos, your voice is so calming and you surprise me every time with your creativity and uniqueness.
Me and my mom lived in our fair share of apartments, and heavy duty mounting tape is a must. We hanged paintings, potted plants and even shelves with that.
I feel you with the house coming in at the time you really needed it because my husband and I just bought our house in July and moved in August and we definitely found it at the right time and it was like a bright light for better things to come in the future. 💖
I've never really had inside the apartment rules besides noise and no painting the wall different colors. It was always if you hang anything you have to repair the spot so like fill sand and paint the spot a hole would have been.
Hi syd, re the cat, normally a cat that has a home will have a collar and should be also microchipped - which a vet can check for you. Alternatively you could put what is known as a paper collar, its basically a note you attach to the cat, it would hopefully go home and you'd get an answer. If you don't, next step I'd take would be to check for a microchip. I dunno the rules where you are but in the U.K. Over the last few years dogs and cats have to be microchipped as without them its nearly impossible to get your pet back if its lost. From what I've seen online, it seems that inside+outside cats (which we have a lot here in the uk as cats have the right to roam) are rarer in the USA, for various reasons but mostly predators. Im technically allergic to pet hair, however ive taken a daily antihistamine which fixed most of it. I had my cat Jazzy for 16 years, she went over the rainbow bridge 🌈 last November. She was an indoor cat, first by choice when I lived in a house with a garden in a quiet cul de sac but then by necessity as i live in an apartment.
I am from MD in the us,live in PA now. literally everywhere I ever rented but ONE was white everything. the only one that wasnt was a really old building, cut into 2 apartments, its walls were all dark colors which I loved. common landlord rules were no painting,no pets that you didn't pay a pet deposit for, clean up after your pets, keep the noise down, keep your apartment clean(they did checks).
Would you be interested in doing another « every item from » video/mini series maybe? I loved it when you did it with all base game items! I even tried it myself with city living it was so much fun! I would love to see what you would with all the items from a random pack ❤ Btw amazing video as always 🥰
For the cat question, most people will put a collar on their outdoor cats, but if it escaped I'd say look online if anyone posted anything, look if there's posters anywhere, and ask a neighbor.
Just started the video and wanted to say that i actually already have life makeover! And despite it needing a lot of space it is high quality and so far absolutely amazing!! The story line is good too ^^
it would be so fun if you did a little series with the new pack being the occupier on the 9th floor trying to survive hiding from the landlords and making money with their little guitar to move to an actual home lol ❤
In New Zealand, it’s pretty standard that, if you have a good track record, your landlord would let you paint the walls and hung stuff up as long as you paint it all back and fill any holes made. Or else the landlord would keep your deposit. As paint is very expensive (like you mentioned) I’ve developed a love for gallery walls, coloured lighting and funky curtains. I also have a collection of rugs as most rentals come with plain off white carpet (that was probably white one day) or wood floorings. Pro-tip: to avoid leaving holes from hanging things on walls, I use a crap tonne of adhesive wall mounted hooks
Adhesive or double sides tape for posters and pictures. You can still decorate without making holes in the walls. That is my living situation right now. 🙄 This was so freaking cute and a lovely video!
You should 100% make this apartment and sim cast into another one of your reality tv shows that would be so interesting!! Love all the apartments Syd! Love your videos!!! ❤
Hi Syd, about the cat, I'm not sure if it's mandatory around there, but in Spain if a cat/dog has an owner they usually ad a chip to them - in my town there's controlled colonies of wild cats that even have chips too for population control - so if they get lost or anything, vets can read the chip and locate the owners. Oh, and most cats are not usually very fond of drinking water, so don't take that as a sign that it has a home. There's exceptions, mine loves her water fountain but I hear that's because it's in movement so they trust its safe for drinking... The build is awesome as usual!
I have an amazing idea for a building challenge! (Although I'm not sure that this has never happened anywhere else, I just haven't seen it yet) I think you can call it an aquarium challenge. You must build a fountain or pool at least three tiles wide from the walls of the main living space. Not at the basement level, but raised as part of the first floor. And the ceiling, that is, the floor above the upper floor of the building should also be a pool or fountain. The shape on the outside is strictly a square or an equilateral polyhedron, not a rectangle! You can make any shape inside. To build a small fairy-tale house with a small space around, hidden behind a transparent water dome (just our aquarium). Either a fully open apartment, that is, with a minimum of walls inside and with large windows that fully open the interior space to the aquarium. You can create a fake pool, that is, build walls, open them with large windows and pretend that it is part of an aquarium. (This way you can create more than one floor) The entrance will be a small corridor on the ground floor, no more than three tiles wide and necessarily with a door or at least an arch, or better with a double passage, as if the space inside should be completely sterile relative to the world outside. So, the main idea is a fully open swimming pool that surrounds the entire building, creating the effect of an aquarium. (As an example, you can take Sandy's house from SpongeBob) I hope I have described the idea clearly. She came by accident and I really wanted to see what you could do with it. Maybe even two calls. One with a full-fledged building and a courtyard inside the aquarium. And another with an open apartment inside the same aquarium. (I used Google translator because I'm not very good at English. I'm sorry if some turns of speech will look strange)
Almost every home I've had, there's been a neighborhood cat that goes to everyones house for pets and food. A lot of time I've found they are indoor outdoor cats owned by a neighbor. A lot of times, outdoor or even indoor-outdoor cats will refuse to be fully indoor, so even if he was stray, there's a good chance he'd prefer to be outside visiting everyone - hope this helps!! :))
Loved this video idea. I never lived in an apartment, but my best friend did. Some apartment buildings here don't allow pets, but some do the ones that do. You pay 100 dollars more for the deposit. My grandma lived in an old folk's apartment building, and she could have pictures on the wall. I guess it depends on the landlord.
With the cat if you see it out late at night it could possibly need a home since I have an outdoor cat and she is not allowed to go out at night since coyotes, foxes, bears, etc. I mean if you live in an area where there's not a lot of wild animals then it could be someone's but then again if you live by a highway, it could be someone's.
I love how you decorate! ❤ It inspires me to be more creative with clutter 😅 I think I need more stuff packs or something because I love some of these items. With the cat, you can ask your neighbours. I assume it has no tag. Another option is to take to the vet to check for a microchip. If you can’t find the owner, you can buy outdoor cat house and feed the cat giving a place to live outside. 😅
Omg this build is so good! It would be really cool if you did a 'lets play' when the new pack comes out. The characterization you come up with for these builds are amazing!
I LOOOOVEEE the planty apartment and the dark one as well! We need a CAS challenge where you do townies opposite esthetics or something like that! Like.. Dark Nancy or Hippie Eliza? The rental situation in Poland is kinda chill (I think xD) it really depends on your landlord... Basically, when you're moving in you're paying a caution (usually it's like + one month of rent), when you're moving out the landlord is charging from that money for the damage you caused while living there and giving you back the rest of it (for me it usually was just the cost of the fresh coat of paint). Right now I think I could do anything and my landlord wouldn't care. I haven't seen him in person in almost 2years lol 😂😂😂
I’m in the GTA and the current rental building I’m in is very lenient! More than living with parents for sure. During our suite tour before we moved in we asked what we’re allowed to do re:decorating and the management literally said as long as you fix it before you leave they don’t care! We don’t have any crazy paint or anything like that on our walls, just a bunch of shelves and cabinets and art but they’ve come in and haven’t said anything about it
I tend to half watch/half listen to your vids like a podcast and I love the Syd Lore drops + Life Updates. Super excited that you're part of the EA Creator Community now, and look forward to your growth in both your channel and your personal life (though leaving old comforts can be hard)😊
a big teller about whether or not a cat is a stray is if it looks well fed. if its well fed, that means it either has an owner, or someone else in the neighborhood is feeding it. if its super skinny, especially if you can see ribs, that probably means its a stray, or the owner is abusive(which probably isnt likely if the cat is super friendly). you could also ask around the neighborhood, maybe take a photo of the cat and ask your neighbors if the cat belongs to them
my current landlord is insane! he refuses to let us mount my wheelchair ramp to the outside of the house even though we could go after him for that, we can’t nail or drill anything to the walls or ceilings, can’t paint any walls, can’t use command hooks, no pets. he never sealed the hardwood floors so cold air comes up from in between the boards and they are extremely prone to scratching just from moving a dining chair. the windows are so old that cold air comes through and the heater and ac is also barely holding on from the 60s. we legit had snow come through my bedroom window last year during a blizzard. there are cracks in the walls, an old exposed brick chimney that has let more animals into our house than we can count, and we can’t have any open flames or fridges with attached water dispensers. We have been living in this house for 3 years because right when we moved in was when COVID hit and the housing market went haywire. it was supposed to be temporary but this place is practically falling apart.
outdoor cats will typically look fed, used to people, and wont really go inside if you offer (since they know who their owners are) from my experience (my parents cats were indoor/outdoor). strays who were abandoned will also be cuddly at times, but will typically be HUNGRY hungry. I think its worth to see if he's chipped
In Sweden we are allowed to change colors, some even together with a landlord (paint and/or wallpaper) if it needs to change either way. BUT if we change anything, it HAS to be restored the way you left it when you move out - if you haven't changed anything with the landlords permission :-). But this mostly goes for those who rent in first and owns the contract with the landlord. Also we are allowed to hang shelf etc - but we have to cover and fix it when we move out. All apartments has basic brackets for basic curtains to hang, and some (usually older) has built in shades between the windows or on the inside :) So we have it pretty good. The basic and normal colors for many renting apartments here is white.
My last landlord was very easy. She let us make changes to the unit as long as she approved them first. We did paint, wallpaper, shelves, got rid of the old gross blinds and put up curtains, replaced cabinet hardware, faucets and showerheads. I think that is more common in major city centers where each unit is owned by someone different and are rented out by the owner. We finally bought a place this year and I am living my IRL sims build mode dreams.
You can also put doors on the sides of roofs and sims can walk into it like normal! Or even have a ladder going up into an attic. You have to build with walls down and it can be challenging but its so cute if you get it right!
Syd it sounds like that kitty likes you. Im not sure what the rules are regarding pets over where you are but here in Australia its mandatory at least in my state to microchip your pets. So if you do end up taking the kitty in maybe bring it to the vet first, if no microchip or any ID leading to an owner maybe put up a few posters around your neighborhood that say "Is this your cat?" It is also entirely likely that previous owners have left the poor thing :/
Omg with the secret apartment it would be so cool for gameplay if you added a dumpster and they just furnished with whatever they found whilst dumpster diving
Usually you can tell by the weight and general look of the cat, if it’s a really scrawny one with scruffy fur it probably doesn’t have a home, but there are exceptions
In my exoerience in germany we dont get a kitchen, unless the previous tenant sells/gives it to you (if you want it in the first place). I personally am allowed to paint and put wallpaper as much as I want on the walls, the only condition I have is that I need to remove all wallpaper when I move out and paint the walls white again (it doesn't have to be a good paint job tho as long as its white). I can also put things on my walls as much as I want, I just have to patch the holes up when I move out too. I did keep the blinds from my previous tenant because the windows in my apartment have super weird an unique sizes that you wouldn't really be able to reuse them too.
In Australia it's typically off-white. Though I did once rent a place where every room was painted a bright colour (Pink, Green, Yellow, Blue), not pastel, bright. I would've preferred grey/off-white to that monstrosity any day. The rent was super cheap and they allowed pets though.
Re the cat that comes by, the only visual to look out for is to see if one of its ears has been tagged/cut. TNR (trap, neuter, release) groups do this so that they know if a trapped cat has already been spayed or neutered and has been observed to see if the cat would do well as an indoor cat to to be homed. If the cat has a tagged ear, he neutered and prefers to be outside. However, since he does seem okay with people and is tagged, it's possible that the TNR group was not one that focused on sheltering/fostering and strictly did TNR. He could be a community cat who has learned to be okay with people by having experience with those who put food and water out for him and have given him attention. He sounds like an outdoor cat who has learned to be good with people and could do well being homed.
31:50 if the cat is super friendly and comfortable around humans, it’s someone’s cat. Nothing wrong with taking care of them (especially if they look rlly thin) but I beg anyone who sees this comment to not try to keep the cat unless you are CONFIDENT they don’t have a home. One of my cats (born in my closet so born and raised in my house) is the lazy cuddly type and I can tell someone is taking care of her because she is gaining some serious weight and it’s starting to be a little concerning. Not only that, but it’s pretty clear someone is keeping her at night because she used to always come home at night and now we barely see her which makes me think someone is trying to keep her. Nothing wrong with taking care of a cat, especially if it looks like they need the food or shelter. But if you find a cat who looks well off, well-fed, clean, and maybe even spayed/neutered (which she is), try not to overfeed them and keep them in your house over night, they most likely already have a home and are coming to you for extra food. Just speaking as a cat owner who’s having this happen to them.
Renting in the Netherlands here; while we do have a garden we aren't allowed to bbq. We can paint our walls as long as we paint them white if we move out.
From what I heard basement apartments do get away with a lot more than upper floors, mostly cus the ones who live in them are the only ones willing to live on the lowest floors, which also dont get checked/seen by as many people. As the old addage goes, out of sight out of mind.
Yeah it definitely sounds like the cat has an owner based on how friendly it is. The most disturbing option is that it was the previous home owner/tenant's cat and they've left it behind - I really hope that's not the case. But more likely, (and definitely the more preferred option!) the previous owner just had a really good relationship with the cat and it belongs to someone else in your neighbourhood. Cats have a tendency to adopt other households in their area...they want as many humans tending to their needs as possible XD. I would definitely ask some neighbours and failing that, you could take it to a vet to see if it's been microchipped, that would have all the owners contact details on it
Put a high roof and make an attic room stairs will go all the way up. I also like putting gardens and play grounds on top. You can still puta swimming pool on the lowest basment floor.
About the cat: Check your local ordinances. I know where I live animals aren't allowed to be running at large. I've also lived areas though that if you take in an animal and it has a microchip (and you didn't get it checked immediately) then you could get hit with charges. It doesn't hurt to call local shelters/authorities/animal control and ask what the procedure is. There's some environmental and safety concerns for the cat too but definitely check local laws and such.
Actually cats usually dont drink much on their own, their most water intake is through their food (which is why only feeding them dry kibble isnt great for their kidneys long term). Idk where you live but where i live we have tasso and findefix where people can register their pets microchips and put in their information (like adress and phone number) so if the pet gets lost and is found by someone they can find you and return your pet easier. The chip can be read at any vet or shelter, unfortunately microchipping a pet is not a must in general (except for horses i think) and not every Mikrochip is registered somewhere. But if thats a thing where you live you could go that route to find out if the cat has an owner (also a vet might recognize it as a customer maybe). Otherwise asking the neighbors about it is not a bad idea.
I'd like to think that the sim on the rooftop, the rebel sim at the very bottom apartment, and the cat sim could all be friends and keep each others' secrets. Also it would be really sweet if the rebel or cat sims invites the rooftop sim over from time to time. And when someone questions who the rooftop sim is, they explains that they're just a friend coming over to hangout, but in reality they both live in the same apartment lol It would make a pretty fun gameplay where the goal would be for them to not get caught by the landlord as much as possible. And I'd imagine they can't lock their doors from the landlord since they would most likely have a spare key, so they would have to distract the landlord from getting into their apartment. Meanwhile the rooftop sim has to make sure they don't get seen by anyone else, with the exception being the rebel and cat sims since they're friends. Also the rooftop sim could also be some sort of rags to riches challenge too, until they finally make enough money to rent an actual apartment space.

As far as the cat, you could take it to the vet to see if it has a microchip...
i literally just downloaded Life Makeover App and I’m obsessed 😍😇 my fave type of game. What’s your username?!!!!!!
The “rebel” apartment actually just got really clever with peel-and-stick wallpaper and command strips 😂
the smartest of them all😂
Yesss exactly lol I thought same thing haha
Plot twist: That's where the building owner lives
Omg hi syd
Also black paint is still a neutral color so that's within the rules too 😂
The cat could be a neighborhood cat, like that people take care of, feed, neuter/spay, etc. but who doesn’t have an actual owner. When I lived in Baton Rouge, every street in my neighborhood had its own set of cats who were super friendly and who got food, attention and care from a bunch of houses.
Or it can have multiple families that don’t know about each others. Very catty thing to do.
SMART
That’s true same happened to me
@@Diridonda my cat had a double life for awhile, she would come home smelling like soup and have a bandana on, I couldn't keep her forever so I had to ask around the street trying to find her second owner/caretaker
We have some of these in my neighborhood too, we have a little cat called Jujuba who lives in the building's parking lot 😅
in response to the cat that keeps coming to your porch… if the cat looks well fed, 9 times out of 10 it’s going to every house in the neighbourhood begging for extra food because it’s greedy 😂
Hey Syd, you should do a CAS video for each of the apartment styles you built in this video. That would be very interesting.
omg was just about to comment this - I would love a characterisation of each of these apartments!!
That’s such a good idea!
Oh yes! I was going to comment the same
I was thinking that too! Maybe when the new pack comes out so she can try it out
Yeeeesss!

The details in the exterior!!! That's always my favorite part of your builds ❤
Thank you so much!!
You can ask a couple neighbours about the cat. But if you don't want to, you can attach a note to it by making a collar with some paper that you have written on. Ask if it has a home cause your concerned and put which house you are in or a way to contact you so you get an answer from the owner when it returns home.
Hey Syd!! I hope we will get some gameplay from you with the new pack!! I think it’ll be hilarious
oh we definitely will!!!
@@sydmac I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!!!
I believe if the roof is tall/wide enough a sim can go inside a roof! So you could have done this as the 9th floor too! Not 100% sure but I believe i used to do that to create extra space for my christmas decor box and stuff
Since you're in the EA creator network, I hope you'll get to build for a pack ! You're so good !
Also you can feel around under the skin of the neck for a Tony little bump that is the microchip ( but that can be hard to find )
For the cat situation, I don't know if it's different in Canada but in France it's pretty normal to let your cat roam around. My advice is that if the cat seems healthy, clean and fed, it means he probably has owners so just pet it if you want but i recommand not fedding it because you never know if a cat has allergies or not and please don't steal it haha
Besides very happy for you new house
i know this was 4 months ago (wow) but in the UK its normal too! My cats roam outside ALL THE TIME because they are outdoor cats ahaha, what i usually do when i see a stray cat is feed it only a little bit.
Our house came with a cat, too 😅 It belongs to a neighbor down the street and is basically like the cat you described. Super sweet and cuddly, and the whole neighborhood loves him 😊
Amazing as always Syd ☺️. Congratulations on getting into the EA creator network!! You deserve it 🤍
Thank you so much!!
Something I remember when i was living in an apartment was when i couldn't use the dryer in the apartment because it was own by the landlord. They were living upstairs and using it. So i could wash my clothes but not dry it. 😂
With the new pack it would be cute to have a Friends inspired build too!
Manifesting that you get to build an official lot on a pack in the future, seriously love your vids and builds so much! Its always so fun to watch ❤
I always smile when I see a new video from you on my homepage. I was just binge watching older videos yesterday since I missed you! 😂
I would love to see a space station build with a CAS video of sims from all the planets in the solar system. You could even do a reality house dating competition where the earth sim has to find their intergalactic lover ❤
About the cat situation:
First, I would definitely get into contact with a few of your neighbors, ask them if they know anything (and just to meet them) if no one knows anything I'd say start to gain the cats trust enough to the point where you could take it the vet, they can give it a check up to make sure its healthy and doing alright and can likely also scan for a micro-chip to see if it has an owner.
- 2nd floor tenant is a college student getting her degree in game design, she's currently working on an indie game passion project. definitely one of the sweetest tenants in the building, she also knows about the 4th floor tenant's cat but keeps hush-hush about it. she is also trans because that's just how i picture her in my head.
(that's all i've got, i'd love to know other people's headcanons for the other tenants tho)
All these apartments are so cute. I thought the Island Living one was my fave, but you kept making cute rooms still.
please do another rags to reno. maybe even in an apartment building if possible…? i love you vids!
syd! my sister adopted a cat (his name is frank) who is the most calm and apathetic cat i have ever seen, he is completely unfazed no matter what, loves people loves the outdoors loves our dogs even! we genuinely thought he had to have been someone's pet that got lost but he's really just that chill! so it's entirely possible that the cat distribution system has chosen you 🥳 no one can escape
I just can’t wait to see more apartment builds from you! Also I love the detail that is put into your builds ❤️
It would be cool to have these little apartments all from a different game pack! Like a western, a journey to batu one, a traveler one! Something like that lol
Syd: I personally wasn’t aloud to have candles
Also syd: 12:43 16:01
I would love to see what you would with all the items from a random pack ❤
Btw amazing video as always 🥰
Pro-tip: to avoid leaving holes from hanging things on walls, I use a crap tonne of adhesive wall mounted hooks
i love your builds! they look so lived-in and full of personality ❤❤ also, super realistic with the floor-plan, the rules and everything!
(Although I'm not sure that this has never happened anywhere else, I just haven't seen it yet)
I think you can call it an aquarium challenge.
(As an example, you can take Sandy's house from SpongeBob)
I hope I have described the idea clearly.
Just came across your video by chance. I love all the apts and their themes. The arches used as headboards..excellent idea! Great video!
i was watching your old videos and then i refresh and you posted a new one 🤣💗
this one already looks incredible from the thumbnail 😍
Loved this video idea. I never lived in an apartment, but my best friend did. Some apartment buildings here don't allow pets, but some do the ones that do. You pay 100 dollars more for the deposit. My grandma lived in an old folk's apartment building, and she could have pictures on the wall. I guess it depends on the landlord.
With the cat if you see it out late at night it could possibly need a home since I have an outdoor cat and she is not allowed to go out at night since coyotes, foxes, bears, etc. I mean if you live in an area where there's not a lot of wild animals then it could be someone's but then again if you live by a highway, it could be someone's.
the bed on the top floor has the absolute cutest sheets, I want them for myself!
Amazing work and details per usual . This is why I watch build videos so I can get reminded of items and packs I forgot about or didn’t know existed.
Without even having watched this yet, I'm super duper excited to see how she made 9 FLOORS!
a big teller about whether or not a cat is a stray is if it looks well fed. if its well fed, that means it either has an owner, or someone else in the neighborhood is feeding it. if its super skinny, especially if you can see ribs, that probably means its a stray, or the owner is abusive(which probably isnt likely if the cat is super friendly). you could also ask around the neighborhood, maybe take a photo of the cat and ask your neighbors if the cat belongs to them
The island living and the modern luxe blue and black ones were my fave!
my current landlord is insane! he refuses to let us mount my wheelchair ramp to the outside of the house even though we could go after him for that, we can’t nail or drill anything to the walls or ceilings, can’t paint any walls, can’t use command hooks, no pets. he never sealed the hardwood floors so cold air comes up from in between the boards and they are extremely prone to scratching just from moving a dining chair. the windows are so old that cold air comes through and the heater and ac is also barely holding on from the 60s. we legit had snow come through my bedroom window last year during a blizzard. there are cracks in the walls, an old exposed brick chimney that has let more animals into our house than we can count, and we can’t have any open flames or fridges with attached water dispensers.
All apartments has basic brackets for basic curtains to hang, and some (usually older) has built in shades between the windows or on the inside :)
So we have it pretty good.
Her creative decorations skills are amazing 🤩
Omg with the secret apartment it would be so cool for gameplay if you added a dumpster and they just furnished with whatever they found whilst dumpster diving
i can see the fanfics of the landlord x the rule breaker(s) writing themselves
I love this idea. Please do a CAS version making the tenants, landlord, and outdoor tenant. Also I think the cat has an owner
Please build/decorate a house based on feng shui!! I think it would be a fun challenge
Usually you can tell by the weight and general look of the cat, if it’s a really scrawny one with scruffy fur it probably doesn’t have a home, but there are exceptions
My favourite Sims 4 builder by faaar (and in my opinion the best) 🤩
Why are your apartment builds the only ones that I can digest right now.❤❤❤
I love the purple gamer apartment, that's my fav colour of all time. Also, poor kitty doesn't have a litter tray. :(
for the cat: try and look for a collar, if not try and capture(with love) and take to the vet. some cats will have chips in them if they have an owner
Your bathroom game in the last couple of videos have been crazy. Love to see it
31:50 if the cat is super friendly and comfortable around humans, it’s someone’s cat.
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜Would love a EVERY FLOOR IS A DIFFERENT COLOUR a rainbow build would be so fun ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Renting in the Netherlands here; while we do have a garden we aren't allowed to bbq. We can paint our walls as long as we paint them white if we move out.
You should try to recreate howls moving castle in the sims 😍
the people are lucky the lighting all matches, almost all the apartments i've been in, had both color lol
About the cat:
Check your local ordinances.
The first on and The pastel one are my favorites! 🧡🪞🌌💜
And when someone questions who the rooftop sim is, they explains that they're just a friend coming over to hangout, but in reality they both live in the same apartment lol
It would make a pretty fun gameplay where the goal would be for them to not get caught by the landlord as much as possible.
You should do a strawberry shortcake house, live every room is inspired by a different character! Either that or every room is a different carebear
