I have an 05 with 250000 miles on it. I now have a 16 too and a 98 before that.
No one is impressed with seeing one until they realize that it'll last forever if you take care of it

Every youtuber that reviews cars should take notes from this guy!!! Short, but loaded with info. Terrific video...the amount of work put into this is noted!

this car won't impress anyone... but who cares! cuz it don't fucking break down. what's the point in impressing people when you're broke cuz of high car payments and constant repair costs. save your money and stop caring what people think. it's honestly worth it. you gain NOTHING from people turning their head as you drive by. absolutely nothing

Yeah? But you will be impressed by my beautiful Chevy Cruse as you drive by in your Toyota Corolla while I am waiting for the tow truck. So there! (Told him, didn't I people!)

Great review and lots of good points. This car is about being simple and saving money, not a ton of features that you may not even use.

Good value unlike the new civic that has become ridiculously overpriced

+DoubleD 613 Its true, if you want the good trim on the civic such as the Ex...its 3k more than it used to be. In Canada, it all comes out to 31-35K for the upper trim civics, at that price...I should just go for the Audi A3 or BMW 3 series.

Toyota and Honda both have crazy long engine lifespan. I’ve always driven a Honda, but am now in the market for a new car and I’m looking at a 2016 Toyota Corolla (not sure which model with the confines of Corolla).
This is very informative, and gives some good insight inside the car.
    Thanks for this analysis.

I work at a toyota dealership and was gonna buy this because of employee incentives, but I had to test drive new civic turbo before deciding and I just fell in love and bought it, I really think the corolla is far behind tech and refinement.

Some times people don't want the latest tech or refinement....strange, but some folks are like that. And some folks will buy anything because it's a Toyota.

Been driving my dad's 2016 LE for the past 3 years, it is a good A to B car. Unfortunately that 1.8L, 132hp engine is too weak for me. While this car did serve its purpose, I will be moving on to Mazda now.

    • @robertasmedu

Never buy mazda. No reliability. It is more fun to drive than toyota but the toyota will give you problem free ownership

Why does the 2016 Toyota Corolla NOT have a rear bumper absorber?

  • @BTC909

The upright seating would explain the crappy headroom. I'm just about 5' 10" but mostly torso. Leases on these are dirt cheap.

Every single time I come across one of those recent Corolla with LED headlights, I get blinded by them. They're pretty poorly aligned from the factory.
I had a 2003 Corolla, which I bought brand new back then, until recently because the manual transmission broke (input shaft bearing fell apart, which I have never ever seen in any other manual transmission before !) with the car having only 140 000KM on it (roughly 87 000 miles). Toyota legendary reliability my ass. It's a noisy as hell, cheaply made car, with an antiquated powertrain that sounds like a farm tractor. And talk about a rough ride.
I've hated that car for all the 13 years that I've had it. But I couldn't afford to change it, until recently.
I love my new 2016 Hyundai Elantra. Much more comfortable, much more quiet, roomier, much better equipped, and as affordable, and probably as reliable as a Corolla. No more Toyota for me.

AlainHubert Lol I have one 2005 the wheel noise is terrible. Definitely I need other car.
I thinking about Honda now!!! And corolla for driving in the snow is not really safe.

Your loss. I own two 2016 Toyota Corolla S premiums and love them! One has 231,000+ miles (NO ISSUES) and the other one has over 104,000 miles, again no issues. Educate yourself on how to take care of your next Toyota before giving up on it. If you don’t take care of it, it won’t take care of you.

There are problems with those CVTs. If you get a 2014 to 2018 Corolla, go for the "L" model and get the 4 speed automatic.

+bikephil So I guess over 40 million people gave up on life? If you get on a commercial airliner instead of a private luxury jet, do I say you gave up on life? People buy what they like because choices are subjective. To suggest that someone does not agree with your likes, I guess it's just a douchebag thought.

Terrible car. Our uber driver had this car and it was the loudest car I'd been in in a while. Wind noise from the rear doors, so much so I thought the window was cracked, the entire car rattled when the driver hit bumps, tires roaring, just felt very cheaply made.
