19"45 the half round on the SI tech "pizza cutter" are or the inside of your dry suit to engage the round pucks of your drysuit inflator or exhaust valve. Its an essential tool for tightening and removing SitTech valves.
12:30 if your shore diving on really cold says get your self a large IGLOO or GOTT blow molded water cooler with snap top lid. Before leaving for the day fill it with hot bathtub water. While on site before the dive you can soak your hood and any wet gloves in the hot water. Replace the lid to keep the water insulated and between dives warm up your gear and fingers. Works a charm! Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter
Great videos and awesome channel! I’m hoping to buy my first drysuit this year so would love to know pretty much all there is about drysuit and drysuit maintenance. Everything from a novice point of view....what do you wear under your undersuit....difference between neoprene and silicone seals etc.
Hi Mark, just bought the Santi BZ400 how much extra lead in kg`s would you recommend. I usually use 13 kg with a Waterproof body 2X plus base layer. Love the channel and often return to your older videos as my kit changes for info. Hope this is not too late for an answer. Sea diving in Denmark.
Those gloves aren't glorified marigolds, they are marigolds. The Kubi originals are in fact ''Marigold Industrial AlphaTec 87-118 Industrial Protective Gloves', as used for washing up. You can get them from supermarkets or online for about a quarter of the price compared to a scuba supplier. I'm with you on the front-entry suits too; especially useful now we are social distancing on dive sites!
I tend to take fresh water with me to rinse the zip and my head when salt water diving. Not every boat has a shower system. Maybe warm or tepid water would be good for sold water diving.
Hi Mark, great video, Im looking to buy the Argonaut 2.0 suit with silicone wrist seals and would like to know Is it an easy swap to the Waterproof dry glove system like the one you have? keep up the good work 👍🏻
Hi Mark, Great video! Love the tip about 2 hoods. I couldn't agree more nothing worst about diving than putting on wet, cold equipment after having a break. Like the idea about the tube for the gloves as well. stay safe and hopefully, we will be all diving soon.
Knew a guy that used to bring a portable space-heater and leave it running in the back of his van during the surface interval to warm and dry out his gear between dives...
Any tips on picking an under suit beyond just trying them out? Such as do any of them have a general water temp rating - ranges? Been looking at Waterproof and everything is vague in that area beyond listed what its made of, lol
Hi Mark, great to see your informative videos again. I dive in a trilaminate suit and two piece fourth element arctics which are warm in temps as low as 5 degrees but still find these buoyant as they trap air well, having to compensate with lead. Any recommendations on undersuits that keep the warmth but with reduced Weights? Regards Darren
I've heard divers describe the Arctic as bulky before. You have a couple of options depending on your budget and how experimental you are. The first reccomendation I have is to look at baselayers first. If you don't use a baselayer then definatley look at one. While thin, they make a big difference. As you've seen in this video I like the Santi BZ400x, but if you want to try something different a buddy of mine swears by the new Waterproof Meshtec undersuit which is a clever new, low bulk insulating layer. I've never tried it in the water but I did warm up quick wearing it out of the water. And there's always heated undersuits which can be much thinner, just do your research first because they can affect your deco.
Great video, Mark! I'm looking to buy my first dry suit so this gives me some great input about what features to consider getting in a dry suit. Buy once, cry once, right? :)
What undersuit did you find the most comfortable for the Waterproof D10 drysuit when you had it, and what temp range would you envisage the BZ400 being comfortable?
A bit of both, most of my gear is packed away in bags so I know where everything is and it's ready to go, but anything delicate or battery powered usually gets stored somewhere safe.
Yeah, I like to stick to it as much as possible so my buoyancy doesn't change. I've never been hot on a dive wearing it. Though, during the summer I tend to strip off fairly quickly once out of the water...
This is just the regular BZ400X, it doesn't have the heating coils. It's a great question though and something divers need to be aware of because if you're nice and warm during the descent and bottom phase of the dive you're on-gassing at a faster rate, but should the battery or heating stop, you decompress much slower and risk DCI.
Great presentation, thank you. What didn't I like? How about despised? The endless droning repetitive dirge that someone must think is an appealing backdrop to your intelligent commentary. It isn't. If you must include a soundtrack please spare us the continuous sounds I would expect to hear in a North Korean re-education prison cell. This kind of crap is most often heard on 'Tactical Gun Channels' for its supposed macho character which is just pathetic in my view (nothing against gun channels per se, just the posers and their theatrics). I am not suggesting Vivaldi here, but for God sake, give us a break! Diving is spectacular enough without mind-numbing gladiator arena soundtracks, okay mate?

16:36 if you have an under garnet with a thumb loop elastic just pull that thought for gas equalization between the dry glove and drysuit.

A guide to changing the seals would be appreciated

Excellent as usual 👌, even if I'd never dive in cold water I injoyed it

Beginners question - do you shave your moustache before your diving or just deal with water in the mask and clear it out repeatedly?

@@SafeDiving do you know where i can buy those tubes i do not see them on the site and i hope you guys are back doing simply scuba when this is over
Great video, for the record, what water temperature would you call “cold”?
Thanks for this video. What do you wear under your Santi undergarment?

try the weazel extreme
Hi Mark, do you keep your gear stored in bags in between dives? Or do you store it all hung up etc and then pack it when you’re heading for a dive?

I like you and your chanel!
Good videos and good rewiev.

Hi Mark, do you use the Santi all year round or just over the winter?
Yeah, I like to stick to it as much as possible so my buoyancy doesn't change. I've never been hot on a dive wearing it. Though, during the summer I tend to strip off fairly quickly once out of the water...
Nice one, thinking of buying one, I'm diving in Ireland so not the warmest haha
@@robbiesweeney9972 I've heard two things about diving in Ireland;:
1. It's beautiful.
2. It's cold.
How does the heated suit battery going low on that suit screw up your deco?
