  • In this episode of Auto Afflicted we check out the 1993 Audi UR S4 Quattro. This 500hp Sleeper is powered by one of my favorite engines, Audi’s 2.2 liter turbo charged 5 cylinder. Jeff Bender of Acme Overland (see our episode with Acme Overland linked below) has completely gone through this Quattro. Upgrading the engine with forged internals, Borge Warner big turbo, 3 inch exhaust with Borla muffler, Porsche brakes, H&R spring, Bilstein dampers and solid bushings throughout. Jeff details all the mods and then let’s me take it on a canyon run!

    This is an absolutely beautiful car, and amazing build! The attention to detail of the gauges is top notch, and probably my favorite upgrade that you have made. For the money, you can't get a better turbo for the street. They make great power, spool is decent, and can absolutely take a beating. Thank you for posting this, I love seeing more of these cars on here! I wish mine was pearl white!

      Yes! Jeff did an amazing job with this, and you can see how detail oriented he is. The drive was equally impressive and I do love these cars even more now that they’re fewer and farther between.

Haven't driven it much in the last 7 years, but plan to drive it more after watching your video Ali. Thank you for recognising these fine rides!

    Good to see you getting back close to your Audi roots Ali! Very nice example of a 93 S4 in pearl over ecru... our first ever '93 UrS4 in July of '95 was the same color combo. Only 63 examples were sold in that color combo in 1993. Side note, where did you get your hat Ali? My father has the same hat since new in the 1970s and until today I've never seen another one just like it! ;-)

    • @AutoAfflicted
      @AutoAfflicted  Год назад +2

      Yes! Fun to get back into some original five cylinder turbo cars. And the pearl is certainly my favorite. Looking forward to getting behind the wheel of my coop once the current owner gets second gear fixed. Regarding the hat, I found it at a thrift store in the early 90s, in Denver and I just keep pulling it out for the cold weather.

      @Jeffbender5055 do you have any insights for Martyn on the intercooler set up ?

    • @jeffbender5055
      @jeffbender5055 6 месяцев назад +1

      Intercooler is a treadstone tr8. I felt the same about retaining AC since we are in utah and it’s a pretty hot area come summer. The only stock intercooler pipe I retained was the one off the throttle body. All of the other IC piping was custom. It does fit behind the bumper nicely with only a little modification to the lower bumper grill pieces. Let me know if you have anymore questions!

    • @martynsboostedswedes
      @martynsboostedswedes 6 месяцев назад

      @@jeffbender5055 many thanks fkr the info! However, I've now remembered my cooling issue: you are US spec with a deeper front bumper to allow fitment, whereas I am UK spec with a slimmer frint bumper = I can't get an after market uprated (thicker) intercooler in that space :-/
