Keep it going bro! I’m just starting myself… trying to figure out how to sublimate on dark colors… so far it looks like siser paper is the way to go. Takes time and patience, but Lords will 🙏🏽 I’ll figure it all out.

TEAR THE EDGES OF THE PAPER TO TAKE AWAY THOSE LINES
Use heat tape & the image won’t shift. Tear along the sides of the image & you won’t see those harsh lines or use pro base spray. And always use high pressure when subbing

One solution to reduce / eliminate press marks is to print the image on larger paper if you have that option, then tear the excess paper away carefully . This prevents a sharp edge.

To eliminate the edge effect after press to print, tear the edges so its jagged. Careful not tear the print offcourse.

It looks poppin' on white!
Your press is set too high. I can see the scorching of the shirt. You also don't need to insert a sheet inside of the shirt, the ink won't pass through the first side into another layer. To eliminate the paper showing around the design, once you uncover the shirt, place a piece of parchment over the area, turn up the pressure slightly and press for an additional 10 seconds, to remove the memory. Other colors that work really well are silver, safety orange, safety yellow, and safety green.

Use a pillow when sublimating to keep from getting that paper outline

Also after the shirt is on the plate getting ready to be pressed do the pillow go on top of the shirt? And it can be any type of pillow right long as it’s cotton I take it?
You can press the shirt again to take out the lines

tear around your image that will usually take away the harsh edges
Tear your edges around your image and that usually stops the marks around on the shirt
Subli is really good for white shirt.
I just wish 100% polyester shirts weren't see through
How about a light pink 100% polyester
You gotta get the clear sublimation vinyl for it to work.
Clear HTV does work. However, I have another video where I sublimate on more colors. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Nice! On the white shirt, what kind of paper is that? I'm pretty new to sublimation, but I want to put a large image on a shirt but I don't know where to get the paper. Also, do you think that if you use pastel colors (like an aqua or lavender) that the image would come out brighter?
This paper is called Printers Jack. The best sublimation papers to use are Crafting Besties, Blanks Galore, and Garment Creations. The colors coming out bright depend on your print settings
How about black polyester shirts/ gowns etc
Unfortunately, sublimation ink doesn't show up well on black 100% polyester material.

I have a video on my channel where I sublimate on white glitter. It really pops when you have a vibrant image.
What brand of sublimation paper did you use? I noticed you didn’t need any heat tape to keep the image in place. Cool!
Here are the sublimation papers I used. The paper tends to get stuck to the top heat platen and move when I open it up due to static in the room.

Diluted hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle helps get rid of the lines
So the best shirts are polyester when doing sublimation
Yes. 100% polyester give the best results.
Sublimation will work on very light colors but the design will still look a little diluted. You have to pick a design that will pop

Got them from Google images. I typed "Spider-man Comic Book" in the search
You also need to know the accuracy of your heat press. I have a RUclips video that will show how to determine your fudge factor. It could be that what you think is 400 degrees, may very well be a whole lot hotter. All presses are different and only the really expensive ones like those Stahls sell, are truly accurate.

have you tried a black and white image on the colored shirts? Do you think that would make any difference?
I have part two of this video on my channel.
Now try painting splashless bleach directly behind the images and see if it enhances the image. You can do that instead of a splatter look if you prefer a cleaner edge. I'm not sure but you could try (about bleach on 100% poly).

Hi there Margaret! Do you mind further detailing how to do the bleaching process please? And can I do the bleach process when putting vinyl on a regular cotton shirt as well?
I attempted to bleach a 100% polyester shirt and it did bleach some. Then I subbed on it. Will post a video and pictures. I’m new to sublimation and I’m trial and error everything.
@@tashabrown8301 I bleached a 100% cotton shirt and ruined the shirt. The bleach are through the fibers and left holes in the shirt during the washing process.

The white looks great... What type of heat press and printer do you recommend for beginners in sublimation printing?
The best advice is get what you can afford for sure. As far as model and brand of heat press, I'd say get you a 15x15 or 16x20 from Amazon to start of with. Printer wise, get you an Epson ET-8550 eco-tank with Cosmos Sublimation Ink. Recommend an Epson that can printer 13x19 images.

It's was Printer's Jack 11x17 paper from Amazon. I have an Epson WF-7720 printer that can print up to 13x19 size paper

Two suggestions. #1, you can tear the edges of your sublimation paper to help smooth out the edges. #2, after you sublimate, you can do a 3-5 second press. Just make sure to put a cover sheet on top, like parchment paper because the ink will bleed on your platen.

Unfortunately you can't sublimate on black polyester. The image will be black and had to see. Also, there is no white sublimation ink.

Great video! You mentioned the heat causes discoloration. That happened to me too but it was permanent. Maybe my pressure was too high? 375 for 60 sec. 100% polyester Jerzees tee shirt in teal. Sub Black lettering. thanks 😊

Thanks for watching. Yes, it helps get with of the press marks from the paper. You can also so a second 10-15 press to get rid of the paper lines as well.
I have dark blue 100% polyester t shirt. What colors will print brightly on it?
Unfortunately, you can't sublimate bright color images directly on dark blue or black shirts, even if they're 100% polyester. The image will be really dark.

so basically for colors it doesnt work ,,..but for an all black sublimation print it will work kinda like a comic style
