Speaking of Derek, theres an outtake "Deleted Scene & Outtakes | Derek Series 2 | Kev Tests Out Caravan" which I think you would lose it to, its similar to what Jay was doing right at the start of the episode, where Kev is demonstrating to Derek just how he does it in the caravan. Ricky can't even get through it XD. Also, the guy who plays Mark Donovan (the bully) speaks completely differently in real life. He speaks very eloquently.
The black guy who is playing the drug dealer is a brilliant stand up comedian called Doc Brown and you might've seen him on Taskmaster with Greig Davies.

When simon says to his dad, oh i forgot you were a comedian. the guy who plays him (martin trenaman) is a comedy writer. he co-wrote 15 storeys high, with sean lock. which is brilliant

Exactly the same here. Ate it in a club. Thought I turned into a jellyfish, legs were useless tentacles. Spent all night slumped in a chair not able to walk and then got carried home at the end of the night 😂

Really enjoy your reactions guys, you two seem cool. I didn't think either of the Inbetweeners movies were as funny as the series but still worth watching nevertheless. You should definitely check out Friday Night Dinner next though (has the guy who plays Will in it and it's hilarious).
Nah Friday night dinner is more later era comedy, it's not that great and more lowkey. It's not a patch on original comedies like peep show, shameless, only fools and horses, royle family and ones like that
@@HouseOfMitchell A lot of the more subtle comedy in The Royle Family is pretty similar to Friday Night Dinner actually. Obviously it's not your cup of tea, but I think the writing in Friday Night Dinner is fantastic. The comedy is a wonderful mixture of avant-garde stuff and realism, but can only be fully appreciated once you understand the characters. It's highly original too -- I can't think of any other sitcom where you get to witness two elderly women (who are written as proper, multi-dimensional characters!) have a physical fight! I died at that scene 😂
Yep most dad's are more like this in the UK than all kind, polite and reserved stereotype. Most British dads are very savage, everyone I knews dad was anyway. My dad was always filthy, funny, brutal and so was all my friends dads. The mums weren't much better, they were savages too it's great. Anyway trip to Warwick (ep 4) is my favourite this series
Hannah Tointon who plays Tara and Joe Thomas, who plays Simon are in a relationship away from the show. They met in in 2012, after they met working on the show and in October 2022 they announced the birth of their first child.
This was a hilarious series as it was so realistic. All American films, sitcoms, etc that I've seen have teenage characters that are played by older actors, and are perfectly good-looking and beautiful. They always have perfect hair and skin and then men are all toned and the women are slim. They're always sophisticated and charming and drive massive, brand-new, expensive cars. If they don't. it's because their character is portrayed as "weird" or "ugly" (when they're not). Whereas this (and most British sitcoms and dramas) the teenagers are played by teenage actors, and they're not always perfectly good-looking, they have crap cars (if they even have one), and have the sophistication, charm and wit of a dish-cloth. They're all gross, stupid, idiotic lads.

After you've finished the series there's a couple of brilliant videos comparing the difference between the UK version and the US version of the show. I can't quite recall who it's by, somebody else might be able to clue you in. But it'd be interesting to see what you think of that!
The drug dealer Doc Brown was a co star in Ricky Gervais David Brent on the Road. David Schaal who plays Jays dad was in the original Office with Ricky Gervais. Emily Head who plays Carli is the daughter of Patrick Head who played Rupert Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And here’s one for the Queen Boomer, Joe Thomas (Simon) fell in love with Hannah Tointon (Tara) on the show and they married, and are expecting their first baby!
Fun fact, the girl who plays Tara started dating the guy who plays Simon. They just had a child few weeks ago.
