MASTAPEECE
Just saying. Snow speeder spam
When they made the Forces of Corruption expansion, it feels like they said,"we made a cool new faction! Let's give them... *all the things* "
Hey vale you should play command and conquer 3
When an entire army invades and you have like 3 infantry squads just hide and build a shit ton of turrets and hope you either win after rebuilding them for 30 min straight or kill like half their army. And if your attacking and have no chance to win just hide and gather all your units together so they can't pick you off and just wait for bombing runs and orbital strikes to replenish and just do that to win.
Oh yeah, I remember when Obi-Wan suicide sprinted into a droideka squad and ghost-faded out when he died. That was such a good scene.
Still better than Admiral Akbar's death
@@scottski02 Yeah oh no they killed a character who was mostly known for a meme in such a horrible way!!! You know most people don't want a film filled with pure fan service.
. if Akbar meant that little to the writers then why even have him in the film at all? Either treat characters with respect or don't have them at all.
I'd rather have a film with fan service than a film with fan hatred, which was what TLJ was.
@scottski02 It's supposed to be a reference to the keen eyed.. Also like Ackbar is mostly known for a fucking meme! The general audience can't exactly take a heroic sacrifice by a fishman seriously. How was it about fan hatred??? The villain's ideals? Umm the movie is about how that's wrong. Luke? Because he wasn't space god? Or because the whiny farm boy prone to quitting grew old after trauma and had more trauma which made him quit? Oh boy! Do i even need to address that further? The Nike campaign? Since the movie itself didn't do any more feminist shit than the origtrig did.. The hyperspace ram? It was established in Legends (for example the shourd's plan in swtor is to fuck up corucant by ramming ships into it from hyperspace) it was also established in Tarkin and that came out in 2014.
PLEASE FUCKING TELL ME HOW IT WAS ABOUT FAN HATRED
@Kaja de Borst You know that one of the bigger critiques of R1 was that the deaths didn't feel like they mattered so yeah.. in universe it's not a surprise that they named a ship after him, that's not a hard concept to understand.
But if it was set up by characters in the universe that means that people have done it before! Like goddammit, also the reasons why they wouldn't use ships for that include: Hyperspace drives cost a lot of money, The Empire has a way bigger fleet than the rebels, you have to be really lucky to pull off that much destruction (the debri is what destroyed the rest of the fleet and the explosion happened cause the raddus had a strong prototype shield) and considering that it destroyed like 1/10th? of snoke's ship if you do the math you would need a way bigger ship to destroy the death star, which is something that the rebels didn't have and even if they did they wouldn't waste their prime asset in a fleet battle by ramming it towards 1 superweapon that can be taken out with small starfighters.
I do agree with the your last point partially cause he was ready to sacrifice the galaxy to save his friends and that usually 180 don't work. But then you seem to forget that Luke almost killed Vader when he mentioned Leia, so why wouldn't he CONSIDER for a split second that killing one loved one could save the rest? Again he just considered it and turned the lightsaber on out of instinct, he immediately regretted it and was never going to do it. (also remember how real visions seem like? tfa shows this so it's not really that big of a stretch that a war veteran would consider doing that after seeing shit like it)
The Ewoks are FULLY OPERATIONAL
The 3rd battle of endor was easier than the kessle run
The best part about the battle(s) for Endor was the fact that you had a bombing run during all of these battles. Run a single ewok into the base to get vision, send bombers, and boom. Should taken 5 minutes xD
How about how he tried to just target the Droidekas, when the factory was right there. Would've been hilarious to see him fighting Droidekas and not notice the factory just pump out another every time one died.
"Lock S-Foils to attack position"
>Sets to the exact opposite
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
the thing about empire at war is that everyone is broken, so it balances out
You just have to make sure that your bullshit broken tactic beats your opponents bullshit broken tactic.
Weeaboo Dude Seeing as there isn't any balancing updates for the game it is very rare that the multiplayer meta really changes, asides from cycling through strats that counter eachother, saying that i don't think anyone could balance this game properly.
@@callan6499 talking about the skirmish. Remove the rebels MC80 and the consortiums mass drivers. And maybe the keldabe battleships ability. and nerf the skipray gunboat.
Depends on Situation though. While the Rebels have a pretty much all-powerful Ground-Unit (Garm Bel Iblis and his Tank), the Consortium has literally superior stuff in all "Normal"-Units both on Ground and in Space (not to mention this completly overpowered Corruption-System of theirs), while the Empire is, on the latest Tech-Levels, ridiculously broken in Space. Seriously, the Hero-Units and Death-Star II alone can win every single fight, not to mention that the letter makes Ground-fighting obsolete since it can just blow the whole Planet up, negating the one true advantage the Rebels have in this entire Game.
It's still a ton of fun to play though.^^
yeah the empire dominates late game which makes sense and the consortium dominate md game because theyre the first to get an economy sorted out and rebels dominate the early game and can use that early advantage to quickly get a significant advantage for later on
The Rebellion was substained with the blood of ewoks
The Galaxy ain't free
"Many Bothans died" is now "Many Ewoks died"
At least now they're useful for something.
>Has 18 hours in the game but barely uses orbital bombardments and airstrikes.
>Uses X-wing close s-foils ability which increases speed, calls it 'Attack Position'
>Has 400+hours in the game yet has only played as the Empire
Using orbital bombardments and airstrikes are my primarily means of attack when assaulting the enemy base in a land invasion.
Even more, doesn't even know that you and the enemy both can make additional troops on the planet, doesn't know units and has no micro skill at all, and never seen turrets in act before.
@@NameName2.0 you didn't have to call me out like that
I laughed so hard when valefisk realised that, in fact, Piett was not in a transport shuttle
"I don't have the resources to fight this!" Said every Rebel-Commander in the history of Star Wars.
It makes sense, because the rebels were basically space terrorists
Every insurrection ever. Unless it's funded by an outside power.
"I'd love to give the AI the chance to abuse ME this time" You've lost in all the previous videos except when you played as the humans in halo wars
All of those were because the map was bad, nothing to do with him. No, he's a pro gamer.
Who remembers the sound of defilers somehow sabotaging 18 buildings at once?
*sniff* painfull memories... *sniff*
Yes I do remember.....
And I remember wishing death upon the developers immediately afterwards.
I didn't stop playing though.
@@scottski02 Same, my dude. I genuinely want to know how an entire team of people looked at Zann Consortium as a faction and said "Yes, this seems fair".
+Bear Van Helsing Probably the same way they looked at the broken Rebellion artillery and said "This is fine."
@@scottski02 I can deal with the rebellion having like 2 maybe 3 overpowered units since in general I would say their faction is the weakest. My problem mainly comes with zann and all the broken bullshit they can pull, like preventing fighters from spawning, one shot thing hard points, getting got tier capital ships, etc. etc.
now this is podracing
Empire at war:
- every thing is well balanced :D
Empire at war - forces of corruption :

*CANDEROUS ASSAULT TANK !!!*
But they solve every problem we have!
Two words
*Land speeders*
No Kidding. I played GC as Empire, medium difficulty. The Rebel AI spams Torpedo ships, making space combat insanely frustrating. ALL the Consortium AI does is spam Canderous Tanks And missle launchers. Spams them to max unit capacity on EVERY PLANET IN THE GALAXY!! Argh
You spelled *Cancerous* wrong lol
garlicxlr Thanks for the correction😂
my favourite balanced unit was the starviper and their buzz droids that literally melted fighters and bombers away
or boba fett in space who could vaporize 10 fighter squadrons in the blink of an eye with the seismic charge
Bruh, just fighters? Get 5 or 6 starvipers and they can shred FRIGATES
Bruh, Canderous tanks and Pulse guns to roflstomp AT-ATs was priceless.
Oh, and Defilers mass-raping worlds for cheap.
my fave #totallybalanced tactic in space is to mass vengeance frigates and keep vossk and a couple units defending the station
after that take a starviper squadron far behind the enemy, call inall the vengeances and cloak them, get them right under the enemy station and then attack it
the base just melts away
+Systemhalodark Those fucking Canderous tanks . . . in a game where pretty much every unit is unbalanced, those tanks find a way to be the worst. When playing as the Consortium, I'd like to know if there's any reason to not just spam those tanks in every land battle?
Starvipers aka basalisk war droids
Valefisk is my favorite RTS youtuber
my name jeff
So does anyone else's nutsauce reek of fish?
whats rts
Ali Hamarat Real time strategy
Also I’m sure you mean ZannyVids right? Because this Valefisk guy is totally ripping him off.
The Empire is only op in space (especially after the Death Star is complete). The Consortium is op in general.
Who needs land battles when you can just blow up the planet? *que Darth Vader theme*
Lockret yeah and if you play galactic assault you can just setup fleets above all the planets and get however big of an army as you want
This was my intro to RTS games, and I still play it. *And I'm still bad.*
Android_ELITE been there done that, still cant win the first rebel mission.
Wait, the multyplayer of this game is still alive?!? For real? O_o
About the balance: To be fair, the problem with the Rebels is that as a faction it works better in space and in speedy hit and run attacks. Guerrilla, litteraly. ( which is why most of their early game units are speedy and/or outright don't care about terrain). So when you get in to a firefight where you cant' win... it gets iffy. In the campaing map is harder too.
At the same time most of the planets natives are on your side.. which means FREE UNENDYING TROOPS. Sure, they die like ants pitted against a tank, but at some point they either tend to win or they grind the enemy forces so much that you are already set up against them to win XD
The funny thing is that 40k imperial guard tactics can actually work for the rebels. Just treat the natives as guardsmen, they can either tie up the enemy allowing your good units to get stuff done, and they can also eventually grind down the opposition while taking massive casualties.
Yeah it is! People still play it because there hasn't been a game like it. Well except for universe at war, but even that's pretty different.
Mod support is pretty impressive too, and that community is still alive as well. EAW remake came out just last year, and it greatly improves the graphics and adds some new units and tweaks w/o breaking the original's philosophy.
The consortium have weaknesses as well if we're talking balance. They really can't play from behind, and their ships are all glass cannons. Aggressors might have that really good cannon, but it's ONE hardpoint you have to destroy to make the ship absolutely useless. Ditto w/ mass drivers. They're still a massive pain in multiplayer though because corruption is a really powerful mechanic that's hard to deal with if a player is committed to abusing it.
Rebelions actualy the strongest in space. Just build the MC80 frigates it has multiple rapid fire proton torpedo launchers... which ignore shields... and its very fast. And it destroys fighters too.
Also ya. Steam eventually took over for the servers after game spy closed.
It's genuine when someone says this game has the best mods ever. The community lives on because 3rd party development has only ever gotten better.
Hello Valefisk hope you're reading this. As the Rebellion you can use R2-D2/CP30 to steal tech from the Empire or the contortion also if you hover over your unit, you can see what they're weak against and what they're strong against.
He found out how to do bombing runs an hour into the game and lost a space battle with 4 heroes, 6 X-wing Squadrons, 2 Y-wing Squadrons and an artillery barge oh and a Nebulon-B, I don't think he'll be coming back to EAW any time soon
"I don't think he'll be coming back to EAW any time soon" but this is literally part 1 of 2?
@@songbird5842 oh rip me
@@JakeySnakey55 I've beaten 2 calamari cruisers with escort with only 2 acclamator classes and a level 3 space station. I've only lost one acclamator.
@@Renvira i once beat a Star Destroyer using only a Corvette. The AI is dumb and i exploited it. I hid the Corvette in an asteroid field and the idiot sent the Star Destroyer in the asteroid field to get destroyed. It was a very memey cat and mouse game I have ever done the fighters and bombers were nothing too
When my friends and I played this back in the day, the Empire always had to have 69 tie fighters. *Always.*
Why not 70?
And the rebellion has like 30 of those capital ship destoryers and like 30 marauder cruisers
@@flabbywall1780 *"You wouldn't understand" *
I played this game almost as much as I did Battlefront II.
It still looks beautiful for all those years.
I played this game when I was like 7, amazing game. This, the Battlefronts, and Lego Star Wars were my childhood.
"lock s-foils in attack position"
*tells them to unlock s-foils*
Locking them increases speed but reduces how much they can shoot.
Bo plays empire at war with braun sometimes. Maybe you could make a series with you and bo versus eachother?
Could they do a three-way with Forces of Corruption installed?
Grayscale Plaid I dont think the game supports 3 player galactic conquest, not 100% though.
@@axelblack1799 Makes sense. Unless it's only auto resolve I don't see it working. What would the 3rd player do while the other 2 fight each other?
Axel Black i think there is a mod for that
@@Tonypikmin I Think a three-way multiplayer campaign could be pretty interesting- the way i saw it was that time would just pass really slowly when the other 2 were fighting each other, or the 3rd player could spectate the battle (how this would work, would be a bit more complicated). This would also make for some pretty interesting Campaigns- you could have the rebels and the empire teaming up to take out the shitty consortium, or the rebels and the cons teaming up when the emp builds vader and the DS and takes out IG88 with boba- could make for some pretty interesting space battles
And in thrawns revenge- well...
I keep coming back for these type of "cheese it" or "bite the pillow its gonna hurt" videos, you sir have earned a sub.
"I can't believe we pulled this off with nothing but turrets" welcome to the whole game
Now you've witnesed the firepower of these fully operational droidekas
That star wars dancing game has given us so many memes, thank you devs.
Will be Episode II Coruscant?
Yep.
I am not sure that you will survive long enough.
I just watched this one video of you and I already love you
It is so wild seeing Awakening of the Rebellion, Thrawn's Revenge, or Fall of the Republic, and then coming back to vanilla, like, sure there wasn't an official Empire at War 2 and likely never could be again... but the fans made it. Several, in fact. And they're awesome.
The EAW galactic conquest is actually surprisingly hard. Enemies always have a pretty good force at the beginning of the game so its hard to even start your army
I used to play the hell out of Star Wars: Empire at War, but I never knew this game had an expansion. But I did love the base game
Dr.Strangelove or how I learned to stop caring and love endor
You put me in the mood to play this game
As a decent empire at war player I was yelling at you while watching you enabled the fast boi mode on the x wings
I like how when you were saying “these things are surprisingly ineffective” a little info window popped up saying that the droidekas are good against that particular unit
Its about time ive been waiting for this ever since you posted halo wars
It makes me sad that games like this and the og Battlefronts will never exist again.
Valefisk:this is what day 8 and the empire has not shown up yet where are they
*Empire:* **Shows up**
Valefisk: Well I guess I spoke to soon
18 Hours Valefisk?
How about...
347?
Seriously I've played that much with cool mods
Crayz How about 751 also with some cool mods
"This is fine" says increasingly concerned man for the 18th time this video.
Oml that intro is so nostalgic. I know it's in Rogue Squadron lll Rebel Strike but maybe it's in other games and media
You were almost on to something in the 2nd Endor battle, then you failed to figure it out. Yes, those buildings were making more destroyer droids
I remember when i was a child and got it as a Christmas present. Back in those days it was a new and awesome game.
Reminds me of the time when i conquered the entire galaxy with just Obi-Wan and Yoda
The game is unblanced but damn it it's fun, especially with mods
I love the mods, like Old Republic at War, Stargate, Mass Effect, Halo, Remake, etc. So awesome.
Empire: *builds death star*
Zann: *blows up with common unit*
Rebel artillery is so overpowered but so nessisary to stand a chance as rebels
Liked, subscribed , and will be waiting for a series of this.
I really should have seen this game coming. Can’t wait for part 2!
Damn son, loving this new series
Who has the better voice lines, Tyber Zahn, or the Emperor.
Make Tyber Zahn cannon again
Chewbacca
Soldier “let me see some identification”
TZ waves hand like Jedi “u don’t need to see my identification”
Soldier “look at this guy waving his hand around like he’s some kind of Jedi. Ok I’ll play along, why don’t I need to see ur identification?”
TZ “because ur dead”.
And now you will witness the firepower of this fully operational droideka factory
Finally a good Valefisk video.
this and BF 2 2006 were my childhood games. i wish id know the amount of hours i sinked to this game.
That was before any mods were out even
I wish you had a pre battle planning stage to choose how your fleet forms up and which ships come in if youre over the unit cap
i have very fond memories of this game from when i was a kid... let's see how much of that holds up
Enjoying the crap out of this nostalgia trip, thanks Valefisk!
Person my favourite scene from Star Wars Wars was when Rouge Squadron did there suicide run on the pirate base
I've played a lot of the base EAW and in my opinion it's the Rebellion that's broken. Between 1) remote bombing with MPTL spotters, 2) raiding with Airspeeders to take out ground-to-space weapons, and 3) those fucking Ion Cannons disabling anything larger than a Tartan, the Empire is essentially screwed until they manage to build the Death Star, and even then it's a grind to the end if you're playing as the Imperials.
Also some advice for novice players: focus more on grand strategy than battle tactics. *Not all planets are equally valuable.* Knowing which planets to base your conquest strategy around is key to being good at this game. I recommend doing a playthrough on Easy and, just before you defeat the AI, go back and fill every planet with Mining Facilities. That should give you a good idea about what to aim for.
When I'm done half of their base will still exist
You can capture planets with just heroes, and bombing runs or bombard. The Millenium Falcon can take out space stations...Solo. :p Well solo if you do not count turret platforms.
In space engagements wait on them to come to you, hold your ships behind stations. Let the station soak damage, focus missiles on their missiles, everything else on generators then anti-fighters.
Plex Soldiers are pretty OP, and so is Chewbacca (he can hijack vehicles).
The stargate mod for Empire at War is amazing. Lanthian Drone weapons are completely broken against anything but Wraith. Probably a lot of other things as well, but I really enjoyed it a lot.
Do Empire at War Mods, they’re better than the base game.
This is my childhood right I've played this way too damn much
Oh... Oh *NO* , Valefisk.
The moment I saw him lock the X-Foils, I knew we were in for some shit.
"This doesn't seem too hard" oh what fateful words vale
hell yeah, youve played all my favourite games so far :)))))))
I bought a copy of EaW Gold Edition for like 5 bucks at Office Depot when they had a small pc game rack. Best decision of my life. Every install I gotta use that special code
I want a 40k mod of this game.
Imperial >> Imperial Guard and Imperial Navy
Rebels >> Eldar
Consortium>> Chaos Space Marines
Imagine star wars rebellion+ empire at war combined with their best features combined
Locking the S foils on the x wings makes hem go faster but do less damage, have it off if you want your x wings to do well, also the buildings provide reinforcements to both your side (barracks will give an endless amount of troops and factory’s will give endless amounts of tanks until destroyed) so having buildings on every planet helps with defenses
They actually start off with S Foils locked, which is why when you hit the button they say "Full throttle" because you're unlocking S Foils
My brain shows: *Memes*
>Not keeping your distance from the space station and letting the Marauder destroy it without a fight.
SHAMFUR DISPREY!!!
Activate the map information near the minimap. You will see how developed all known planets are, and their income, which is super handy. ;)
If you want more focus on space battles, go play Battlefleet Gothic Armada.
Only the finest in space-heresy crushing right there.
BFGA2 soon with now 12 time the heresy :D
Protip: Don't bother with space stations or any space units above your planets except for your base planet (coruscant for imperials, endor for rebels), or planets that can build capital ships (kuat, fondor). Also most planets you take should be filled with nothing but mining facilities, then the last 3 spots for infantry bunker, light factory then turbolasers (if the planet is small with only 3 spots then just do those three)
I don't know if I should say this, but... Axis & Allies?
Haha so true Axis are so weak^^
This was painful to watch as a hardcore player of SWEAW FOC since EAW
I have a problem right now.
I have too much pickle juice left over at home.
So what I've been doing is putting the extra pickle juice on my sandwiches to make them taste better.
That doesn't sound like a problem to me.
You need to work on your delivery
Delivery needs to be better but I see what your doing
HAHAHAHA
Ah i see your a man of culture aswell
Subbed because i love this game and the fact obiwan lead an army of ewoks.
loving the intro
Literally all you need is a Y-Wing squad to bombard planets when you land.
I'm starting to get the impression that you haven't played this game all that much...
Thrawns revenge is this game on steroids gotta collect all the grand admirals I’m at 4 at the moment
OMG my favourite RTS
Love playing as the Empire.
Somebody still remember this game. Surprising. Most surprising.
I played the shit out of this when I was a kid. This was really funny to watch, I’m sitting here watching all your decisions and reactions like 😬
Great as always!
I like that with all the mods make this $15 game worth it
dude, i have never seen anyone played this game! it was my first game on steam
That laugh at 1:38
cracked me up.
3:58 as soon as he said oh shit my bed straight up fucking broke not even kidding the boards supporting the bed fell out
The midget tanks are actually suicide tanks
I'd love to see your take on Sins Of A Solar Empire in this format.
