Did you aak him about his program with Ron Simmons in 91 when he was WCW champion? They did a moxk press conference where he had to say he would hire Ron as a chauffer. He looked really uncomfortable doing it Mr. Hughes leaned in right before he said the line. I always wondered about it
@@johnfalcetta5431 agree Lex seemed very uncomfortable in that spot. it would be great if people asked him about that
I am so very happy that Lex is happy and content with who he is and is in a great place mentally.
Nobody can blame him for his ego and position in the business.
They saw him as money and pushed him to the top, he went with it.
He didn’t know any better, he didn’t do the grunt work, Indy shows, territory’s and 10000 mile road trips living on potatoes and tuna cans…..
He landed on his feet so good for him.
Sting will always be my favorite wrestler, but as a kid growing up Lex Luger was right up there with Sting. As an adult I see where he lacked as a wrestler. His promos and in ring abilities definitely were lacking, but despite that Lex still had that it factor. Most of it was because of his physique, but he also just had that star appeal. I think the best part about Lex Luger is how he was able to overcome the obstacles in his personal life. He had flaws with his personality/character (as we all do) as far as being conceded or arrogant or self absorbed, but you look at him today and he seems very humble and happy. He seems like a cool down to earth guy. It's hard to change who we are. Especially when it comes to our negative traits, but I think Lex pulled it off extremely well. I'll always be a Lex Luger fan and I even named my Jeep after him....The Total Package.
Awesome job chiming in on the end Hannibal. Life is a journey and happy to hear Lex is a happy and positive these days.
Sid Vicious on Lex Luger "He was a little robotic, and didn't like the fans." Pure gold and so true. Butch Reed was a straight shooter, like what he said about Lex Luger. Al Perez summed him all up.
Buff Bagwell sounds like the tiger king 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Sid also sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger :)
Buff is tongue tied?
@@davideckert2889 sad
Sounds like meth mouth
Sounds like he's on pills sadly.
I was so impressed by Lex’s seemingly full turnaround personality wise (by his own admission) that I got his book on Audible and it was a great listen imo.
I've always liked Luger. He's a great example of a guy with little wrestling ability but incredible charisma and decent mike skills, making him a cut above other "body" type wrestlers.
He was intense
he did not have charisma or great mic skill. he had great presence much like goldberg .
@@HhhHhhh-nu4lm Yea was really young towards the end but seemed more of a presence than the swag and mic skills Steiner had the charisma mic skills someone like that just to name one
Pitbull Pittman was an awesome talent. He also was an awesome man to the fans. I talked with him and even shared a beer after a Nitro in Norfolk VA some years ago. No ego and was like talking to an old friend. Truly a great guy...
Luger vs NWO hogan in 97 is one of the funniest matches I've ever seen, luger over selling, yelling and screaming the whole match lol
I wanted to be like him when I was a kid, he was my favorite.
You’ll get there bro, keep believing
@@senecaknowledge2274 My metabolism is what's holding me back. But when I turn 40 or older,, maybe I will have a chance.
@@BrianLG100 Keep working on it. Don't matter if you can't do 1 push up or bench 50 ponds. Just keep working. I'm fixing to turn 40 and in the best shape of my life. I was a fat kid growing up and never liked exercise. I do now.
@@dusjin Thanks for the encouragement.
Thanks for the video. I always hated that the Lex Express didn't go further that it did and as a kid following it in 1993, all of these pod casts have answered why it didn't go the way it did. There are some life lessons to be learned from these stories; potential isn't everything and JJ answered it best. There has to be effort on the talents part and I think that's part of the problem with todays wrestlers. Just not much effort put it. Again, thanks for posting this as it was a good trip down memory lane seeing these guys all over again.
Sid vicious looks surprised a lot
Big fan of these comp videos. My favorite Lex gimmick was The Narcissist. I know he started to gear up for an appearance on the WBF stage at the time and I'm sorry we never were able to see that happen due to his unfortunate motorcycle accident. Glad to see Lex is doing well despite many hardships. 👍
Luger was one of my favorite kids growing up but for a wrestler that used a powerslam as much as he did it didn't improve one bit over the years
Liv Morgan looks good in leather she should be women’s champion and the face of WWE
I'm cool with it
Liv Morgan will never be the face of the women division. Not saying g that Becky Lench is better.
Problem is none of the other women wrestlers are as good as Charlotte. Anyone who says otherwise is lying to themself.
One Canadian to another. I really appreciate you posting all this content Hannibal. I’ve had fukking panic attacks all day from all this fear media porn cranked to
The max on RUclips! I can’t escape it!! Goddamn global news!!! Keeps popping up. Regardless wrestling is always my healthy escape!
11:15 Ol' Buff must have drank away his memory of Superstar Billy Graham.
Misfits Glenn Danzig
Canton Civic Center, he was the United States Champion. Won his match and was headed back to the locker room but took a few moments to say Hi to all of us in the last section. Class Act, Professional!
I met Sid Vicious at the gym one day . He started talking to me while we walked in the treadmill very engaging guy conversation. He is one of those big nice guys ! Wish I would have become a wrestler just to go against him in his prime !
He would've dusted your ass.
When I was in high school, I met Sting, Lex and Nikita backstage at after a show in Savannah, GA. Lex wanted nothing to do with me and my friend. Sting and Nikita were awesome though. However, I am glad Lex is no longer like that.
@s. holland III no I am not.
Nikita as a baby face worst move ever!
I think you are both liars. Get it of here, liars!!1233325
@@wolflover789 "Get it of here..."?
This was awesome!
Sid and Lex were my heros growing up
I STILL remember when I saw Luger for the first time - when he first showed up in the NWA (JCP), claiming he wanted to be a Horseman.
Holy crap Craig “Pit Bull “ Pitman !! I haven’t seen him in ages , He was one of my favorites as a kid . I also had his action figure, it was a lump of rubber but still cool I thought.
good vid, buddy
Did Bagwell start smoking 10 packs a day for the last 3 years???
Somebody should tell Buff Bagwell not to hit the crack pipe when it's hot. What's up with that lip Buffy?
Puff Bagwell lmmfao.
Seeing Lex Luger like this breaks my heart.
Did Butch Reed have a health episode? What does Lugar look like now?
The torture rack doesn't look painful.
Looks more painful for the person administering it than the recipient lol.
I remember getting and autograph from lex in 1999 he was alright to me ...
It’s funny the Narcissist character Lex played when he first came to WWF was really his personality.
Loving this one thanks for sharing very important information giving thanks blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
Leuger was a great heel. He was Over big time in WCW and the NWA.
HANNiBAL: yet again you’ve done a wonderful job, I’m glad you included the clip of Lex today because he’s such a different guy to who he was.
Nobody can shit on him on fairness, and it’s only jealousy because he was pushed into the top spot from the get go…
That wasn’t his fault, who wouldn’t have an ego, he was young, Jacked, 6”4 had women falling all over him and was immediately a fan favourite because he was teamed with Sting.
That’s not his fault, he’s in such a wonderful place now and is extra humble after suffering tremendous losses in his life.‘bless him and you for doing this.
Once again I would just like to Thankyou for doing these shoots, you know when to shut up, you don’t try and get yourself over and make it a 50/50 conversation with the guest like so many fake fame hungry cockroaches who think it’s about them and they just rattle off question after question without taking that time to sit in silence and allow the guest to elaborate and give further information and you also listen and delve a little deeper whereas many just move straight to the next question on the list…. Bravo 👏
What is Buff on?
Thanks
THAT WAS VERY ENTERTAINING AND SAD. 😜😅👀😥👀👌
Weird seeing people mention his WWF run when this guy was a Horseman when the Horseman ruled
Luger's character as "The Narcissist" was nearly identical to his real life persona. He became his own mark.
Butch Reed sounded like he was struggling to stay awake during his comments.
Damn man, it’s sad to see Marcus Bagwell all fucked up and slurring his words. I’ve got family that was strung out on pain pills and they sounded exactly like that. They would always claim they were clean and weren’t partying anymore, but I knew it wasn’t true. I hope he eventually beats his demons.
I think bagwell was trying not to tear up since hes sees lex in a wheelchaor now.
10:00 The subtitles say: "I got pie because it was pound that's not gonna buy him guys cuz pro car the thing". What?
Narcissus was his best gimmick for sure. Mr Perfect made their WM match even tho Luger said Perfect went blank in the head. You can't trust Luger tho. He contributed to Elizabeth Death that fucking mutt
Buff doesn’t always tell the truth. He just said that lex was the first bodybuilder body on tv. That’s a lie. Lou Ferrigno was on tv back in the early 80s.
Does anyone know wtf Buff is saying?
Who's the guy with the barbell commission shit on I don't recognize him??
Duke the Dumpster Drosey ( Garbage man) thats when characters had people jobs. TL Hopper, Dr Isaac yankem, The goon etc
TL Hopper was a plumber
I'm Buff and I'm on that crack stuff!
Lex has to be one of the most underrated wrestlers of all time. He never got the push he deserved imo
Lex having an attitude is a myth started by people who were jealous of him. Not that he was the most super nice guy, but he wasn’t the giant evil person that jealous people say he was.
So I guess everyone is lying then? Stfu 🤡
@@kingmiller1982 no, because not everybody in this video buried him which you’d know if you watched it. And look who did. Freaking Sid, Consider the source. Then Kevin and JJ back to back who recently sued each other.
There's that Jimmy Garvin backstage camcorder video and Lex and Hawk seem to be getting on pretty well so who knows? I always thought he was a natural Heel like he was with JCP before he left the Four Horsemen. He had a natural arrogance about him in his promo's, and he should've stayed in T4H longer, with Barry being pushed as the top Face IMO...
Pitbull pitman #oss #GracieCamp
Like Buff Daddy's description of Lex
I got pitbulls autograph in eden nc way back in the day
Bruiser Brody actually had Luger crying in the ring. Luger finally actually ran out of the ring in tears.
He didnt cry but he was affraid. In his words he tought brody might actually be crazy lol. But they patched it up that same night. People didnt smarten lex up that brodys gimick was wild craxy man.
I couldn't understand what Buff was saying. Can you get him an interpreter next time? Or maybe a closed caption.
The closed caption on RUclips can't even understand what buff is saying
Had Buff been drinking?
......the more shoots I hear about Lex..... its just facinating how everyone is basically kinda like, "he was an arrogant jerk, but he was upfront about it so it was cool with me" lol Some of those clips of him being a jerk to fans are absolutely brutal
Luger never seemed to like anyone. It seems people don't remember him fondly or really hate him. He seems to have left a neutral impression.
Lex's face looks a little like Mick Jagger.
I love the task master
Super star Billie Graham was the first buff
& Jessie ventura...Tony atlas!
Pitbull is a super cool guy.
I'd like to think with age you aquire knowledge and humility from lessons learned. You have to remember, wrestling isn't like a normal job. This is a me first ego driven business. Only one spot at the top, either your beating people down to stay on top or your beating people down to step on and over to get to the top. They ALL have done and said shady things they wish they could take back. Also in the business you are not friends with everyone. Personalities clash that's normal. Like it or not the more different types of personalities in wrestling the better. Lex didn't have the greatest promos or even wrestling "skills" but he was a specimen and a different personality.
What's wrong with Buff Bagwell? Is he sick?
What was wrong with Bagwell?
I heard someone gave him the date rape drug.
Butch Reed seems a little resentful of the popularity that Sting & Luger had.
Yeah, I was surprised he didn't say they were ray siss
Super Brawl Saturday.
What kind of disgusting, despiblsxc.....DESPICABLE!!!!
That Billy whats his name show, I'm the total packack I will rip him apart, I'm Pissed Now!
Nikita Koloff - Austin before Austin
my goodness i wish there was video of owen rubbing food on lex's face in manilla...i mean unprofessional and disrespectful maybe. but still would be fun to see
I think Lex is a nice guy buy but it's still questionable on his involvement with Elizabeth if he hadn't have been on the drugs as well he would have been able to have looked after her and made sure she was ok.
But that's always going to be a mystery
She was a big girl. Do you expect he was to watch over her 247? He says he never encouraged her to take them and I believe that. But if she was going to do it, she's an adult and he can't stop her all day every day.
When wrestlers show up to do an interview and their high, like Bagwell obviously is, they should postpone the interview until they sober up.
This is probably as sober as you're going to get with Bagwell during lockdown he'd admitted to having pain pill issues in the past. He had already canceled on us one and wanted his pay up front so when you finally get him in front of a camera you're not going to tell him no hold on lets do this another time when you're more sober. His girlfriend set up the camera for him she felt he was OK and he told me he liked the interview. I personally would rather have Bagwell like then than a sober wrestler that gives one word answers like I've had many times. It's their responsibility how they want to show up for an interview not mine.
@@TheHannibalTV I hear ya, I was kind of half joking, he aint the only one who does that shit. The only reason it pisses me off is because I like hearing their stories, but when they come in there high, it changes how they tell certain stories.
Seems that there are two Lugers: the self-adoring jerk during his wrestling years, only out for himself, never for the business, and the Luger after he got out of the business and got injured and found G-d. (Ask Jim Cornette what he thinks about that). To me, Luger was a much better bodybuilder, juice and all, than a wrestler. He never had much style or grace in the ring, his repertoire was very limited to clotheslines, slams, and the rack, and his mic skills were average at best. The match he had against Bruiser Brody was embarrassing. Brody could be a jerk at times from what I heard, but he had skills and personality and he was all in, wrestling-wise. Luger was stiff and uncoordinated-looking in the ring to me, if to no one else. Sad to see him as he is now. He looks much older than he really is.
Well even the worst wrestlers had to go through wrestling school, which has been said to be very hard on the mind and body. I'm sure he like any other "bad" wrestler learned a bunch of stuff but he did not need to do certain things in the ring.
Does Bagwell have throat cancer?
It’s called crack throat, he burned his upper lip from hitting crack pipe before it cooled down also, he’s a scumbag
AEW is on the decline to many vanilla midgets and spotfest people want larger than life superstars like Austin/rock and Cena with good storyline’s/feuds and cool theme songs and promos
How big is your Vince McMahon shrine that you built in your vermin filled basement
Shades or no shades, Marcus Alexander "Buff" Bagwell looks horrible.
Lex lucky he was stings friend that friendship an his body was his only assets
Flexy Lexy should've had multiple WWF World Title runs.
whats funny is Sid was awful in the ring. watch him against bret hart or ted dibiase or shawn michaels. he basically stands there like a statue, while they wrestle themselves for 10 minutes. I love Sid btw as a character though. Just matches beyond 5 mins sucked
Better human being in real life than all those guys.
thanks for the reply. he seems like a nice guy from interviews for sure@@TheHannibalTV
Paul Orndorf>Lex Luger
14:18 A nobody jobber like Al Perez is all about how Lex was uncoordinated in the ring.
Al Perez was jealous of in ring Lex Luger.
Lex looked so much better than Al Perez that nobody cares about Perez if he was in the ring with Lex.
Look how much respect Buff Bagwell has for Lex cause both Buff and Lex had top shelf physiques in WCW.
Al was way more successful in life than Luger. Buff is a pos drug addict and alcoholic that also wasted his money like Luger. Perez was a family man that went on to do a normal job and has a pension. He was one of the nicest people I ever interviewed. Buff was drunk when I interviewed him and Alex was back living with his mother.
@@TheHannibalTVsee I mean everyone was jealous of Luger and warrior because they were given a push without them putting much efforts.
The reason Lex Luger didn't win the WWF title in 93 was because Bret Hart was crying backstage that Vince McMahon promised him the belt and promised him to make him a Canadian hero.
Low card Bret Hart was best as a mid card talent.
The same happened to him in WCW that Flair refused to job Lex because he thought a bunch of other bodybuilders will join WCW and expect a push.
Lex Luger may have not been a great guy in real life. But I doubt he was as horrible as people say. He definitely had attitude because of his good looks, physique and Super star status.
Never cared for Lex Luger he was a bum
