Not every laptop over 1000 has a dedicated gpu. Look at the price of a macbook. Those don’t have dedicated gpu’s either. Or a 1000 dollar dell xps. Some also don’t have a dedicated gpu. My laptop was €2000 and its got a i7 12700u and a rtx3060. I know its overpriced but i love it and with my personal experience its worth it. Its not about the price. Its about the user experience

Professionals who want to save on costs will opt in for the integrated graphics, while others will spend more for the dedicated gpu. The T series offers both options, so it depends on the model. You can customize.

@@jarikooper6325 i know they exist, but i believe they are pretty much a scam at such pricetag, they can afford to do it but they don't and market it has (for professionals), i know not everyone needs a gpu but it is very helpful for performance and overall value

I have a p series, it has a gpu and I don't use it for gaming, it spends more time rendering blender and gfx in resolve, these are professional laptops, not toys.

MacBook is arm based, and to me i believe every laptop over 700 dollars should have a dedicated gpu since it improves graphical experience, I'm not talking about just gaming but video quality, interface, editing, ect... like if you're spending that much it better be good at basic to professional tasks (not the extreme), but that's just me there are people who want a nice quality build ect....

Hello. I would definitely ask your professors as to what they'd recommend as they know what kind of work you'll be doing throughout your 4 years of study.
From what we've seen, students don't need extremely powerful laptops, but if you plan on also working while studying, or just want a powerful machine for future proofing purposes (or to game on the side), we'd recommend something more powerful.
I would suggest a screen size of 15 inches or more as a base and something with a dedicated gpu and at least 8gb of ram (higher the better). There are some higher end T series models such as the T16 that might be a good fit for you.
Otherwise, we'd suggest the P series, which are more powerful workstation laptops designed for professionals! You can either get newer models, or discontinued models that are still great but more affordable. P1, P16, P16v or P15 are some options.
