As lovely and flexible mortar artillery is, since they constantly fire the moment something is spotted in range they're also constantly sending a "hey enemy artillery! hit over here!" message. Another downside is that the mortars can't actually replenish ammo/health when they're firing, and every friendly unit around them suffers artillery damage, too.
Looks like a perfect cheap way to bait enemy counter artillery and have your own artillery ready to counter counter artillery... Also, mortars have enough range not need to be around your own troops so you know, just don't let them nearby other forces
this operation is a manifestation of "unstoppable force crashing an immovable object" both as an attcker in the first stage with fleet of tanks and defender against relentless american attack
Ive gotten a tooltip in a loading screen i believe that says the HQ regiments can be useful in the backline as well as the front because they improve artillery responsiveness and accuracy among other things, i heard you mention that you werent sure about it effect them or not
@@grudgebearer1404 yea, hq improve precision. With HQ BMP my T-55 sqad can destrou squad of Abrams, but they cannot do it if HQ too far from them. And as i can see, HQ aura working on all squads, even if just touch units of squad, but do not cover all units.

I use them for baiting out the enemy Arty, so still a useful unit.
I usually move them once they fire a few barrages

They improve reloading time, aiming time and suppression recovery that I am sure.
They probably improve precision too but I ain't sure of that

I had a love-hate relationship with that operation (the americans just killed my vet Hinds at the very last minute while they were zergrushing)
love it
I had to watch when it said freebird
Pretty sure you blew up my neighbours
lol
You’re German, you should be used to it.
