I'm American and I agree with you that Anna was better. I think Khorkina was overscored on some events because of her star status. That happens a lot in gymnastics, unfortunately.. I love the Russian and Romanians artistry on floor and the USA's tumbling.

Poor Anna Pavlova!!!! She deserves the silver not the bronze! Khorkina deserved the bronze!!! Anna Pavlova deserves to be on the podium!

I just came from watching both their floors, and I will gladly tell you Carly's was better. Khorkina is one of my all-time favorite gymnasts, but Carly's floor was absolutely better executed - both in the dance elements and the tumbling. Khorkina's vault was landed with bent knees and chest facing downwards. Her score was very fair. If anything, Carly was the one who was underscored - on beam. I disagree about her leotard, but I fail to see how that's relevant. I agree with you on Pavlova.

LOL why did Khrokina change her leotard?

It sucks to see that Svetlana said her loss was only because she was not American, because she looked so happy to be on this podium. A shame she never won, she was at her prime in 2000 and was robbed

I disagree, her loss was because Carly was just better, it had nothing to do with nationality

I have often wondered if Svetlana had been told about the vault redo before she went on bars. What would the results have been? I know we will never know but I do agree 2004 Carly did better that day plain and simple

Zhang Nan deserved the bronze medal in 2003, but not here. Anna Pavlova was better than her, and she was underscored on vault by about a tenth or 2. If her difficulty was the same as Carly's, I would've said she deserved the gold because she was the best in terms of execution that day. Also, yes Carly won fair & square, but she was not memorable unlike Pavlova & Khorkina other than her Patterson dismount

    Carly so cute 😍😍😍

Maybe not artistically but she had greater difficulty on 2 events, which would allow for some error, and have her still win Gold fair and square over Svetlana Khorkina, who acted like a spoiled brat making those comments about how it was rigged, I mean at some point you're gonna get beat and she had a great gymnastic's career but you can't stay number 1 forever.

According to what? Your useless opinion? She performed cleaner, more difficult routines. She wins. The end.

How come there is only one Romanian in the all around?

    • @ashleyguerrero2752
      @ashleyguerrero2752 2 года назад +2

Around this time is when Romanians start ro lose dominance . They manage to win gold medals but the dominance an individual athletic support begins to crumble which resulted in their dismal performance in 2008

Well, actually they qualified in 2nd and 3rd. Sadly, Oana Ban who had qualified in 3rd, was injured on floor during the TF and didn't compete in the AA.

Pavs should've won gold. Khorkina or Patterson could win either silver or bronze, but Nan was really overscored on the floor.

  • @olive12121

Oh go compare their floors and then tell me Carly is better than Khorkina.
And then go compare Svetlana's execution and deductions in form on her vault and her actual score and then tell me she was not underscored.
    Also Carly's leo is horrid.
Also Anna Pavlova deserved the bronze, completely.
