Thank you for making a short video of the entire process! I really appreciate your systemic approach to brewing in your content. Quick question: what powder is it that you use as yeast nutrient?
Isn't using the fruit skin bad as it contains pectins which then turn into methanol? I heard about it and I'm not sure, I wanted to try out making fruit mead but the methanol thing has me worried.
Since it's 'that time of year', where we can buy bottles of 'Federweißer' (still fermenting 'grape cider', that is sold in bottles that allow for pressure release) everywhere here in Germany...I wonder if I could just use that as a liquid and forgo adding fermentation yeast. The Federweißer already had active yeast in it, after all and it should be the right kind for this type of beverage.
Love your videos, like many others your IG was what got me started. I know you like the short video format but having to pause to read and get a good look takes away from the vibe.
I added the 1tsb of cloves too soon with the apples and honey so now its fermenting … will this make taste too much like cloves? I heard it can be very potent!!!
Seeing this soda slowly transform into something else is so fun to watch unfold. It makes me wonder, what other sodas would work well as a mead? .....root beer?
Root beer was originally a "beer" to begin with, prohibition seen the no alcohol content so sugar and in some cases spices was added as a substitute for the alcohol
It all depends on the recipe. Little to no residual sugars? It will be "Dry" like a champagne. An abundance of sweetness? "Dessert" wine. Something in the middle? the terms "Medium" or "Semi-sweet" will be used.
@Blakeplaysgaming there are loopholes 😉 just depends on if the person is willing to take a risk or not. You are allowed to "gift" brewed/distilled alcohol.
@@friedoompa-loompa2876 Good point. Doing some more research myself and found there is "brewing sugar". I only asked because I have quite a bit of sugar left from a 50lb bag I bought for kombucha and baking.
Not all Honey is the same. There are different sources of pollen that bees collect from. Wildflower, Clover, Orange Blossom, Meadowfoam, Mesquite, Tupelo, Buckwheat etc. All look and taste slightly different from each other.
I’m going to make a more detailed explanation to hopefully answer all of your questions
Ever hear of Himalayan mad honey? Wonder what would happen if you made mead out of it
what kind of pressed juice? Im assuming apple?
@@SwordlessNinjaI believe it was like apple cider
…when?

Man, that looks freakin' DELICIOUS!!!! ❤️
I’ve been making mead for 10 years and still can’t get it perfect. Excited to learn from your vids
I am currently brewing me some now made it 2days ago looking forward to this one, also using that local Newzealand manuka honey.

This looks great! What are the quantities of the ingredients?
Apple silk mead toobz. That's most definitely what's up!!
Dude jorb is dumb lash

Can I add store bought beer into fermenting mead or sugar wash?
Hey man did you sale your wine online I will love to buy a bottle
Did you have to sanitize the fruit in anyway first? Or can you just add it to the vessel?

Question: Wouldn't it be better to puree the apples?
Dumb question, if any methanol is produced during the process, how do you filter it?
What was the brand of yeast nutrient you used
I'm excited and curious about the Mt Dew mead

.....root beer?

So is this honey wine or mead? And what's the difference? (Technically)
How to do this with out my mom catching me?
Stupid question probably:Is mead actually sweet? Or sweet for people who are used to alcohol?

Where do you store all this?
His wine cellar
But it's mead@@writerofxenos
Dumb question: Is there any way of acquiring any of your product?
No it’s illegal

Looks incredible. Can you make it with just plain white sugar, sugar wine?
Yeah, but I don’t think it’s gonna be any good. Plus plain white sugar doesn’t have any nutrients

Sugar is sugar, honey is fructose.
@@ilikemyrealname You could definitely use that extra suger to backsweeten it at the end!
@@midwestrob8408 Eyy thanks for the tip!
Raw honey is NOT that dark at all though. That was bought from a store. Don't lie though.
Im keeping bees for years. And can say that raw honey can be dark, can be even almost black depending from what plant nectar was collected.
Have you ever seen raw honey?
Wrong.
