I laughed out loud when Paul did one of the takes that is the actual take they use in the Ride, and then followed it up with, “I think that one was right on the money”. How prophetic he was.

What a gem! The voice of Paul Frees was a staple in my life! I grew up about 15 minutes from Disneyland in Huntington Beach and they gave deals on yearly passes to the locals, so we practically LIVED at Disneyland! I can't imagine anyone else voicing our beloved Ghost Host! 💜✌️👻

He did a lot of old time radio.
But the really cool one (I collect his work) was a show called Studio X, and later changed to "The Player".
15 minutes or so each, and Paul does all the voices.. each episode might have 3 or 4 characters.
He was about 28 when he did them. A quick Google should give some of them up easily, if you were down with hearing them?

Some people are blessed with deep, mature voices. Ever heard of Ben Patrick Johnson? He started his voice career (movie trailers, radio station imaging, etc.) in his early 20s but sounded like a man in his 40s or 50s.

Imagine if Disney just decided to randomize what takes are used throughout the ride.
Think about how bewildering it would be for a fan going into the mansion, only to hear the Ghost Host’s lines sounding *slightly* different. You can’t quite tell what’s different, but you know that something’s off. It would be subtle, but incredibly effective.
