- The audio you hear comes from track one of "The Haunted Mansion", a 2009 CD album that I bought in a store on Main Street, U.S.A. when I was in Disneyland in August 2011.
All of the pictures in this slideshow come from DoomBuggies.com, and are placed to compliment the audio you hear.
The song that pervades the entire attraction, "Grim Grinning Ghosts", was written by Xavier "X" Atencio (lyrics) and Buddy Baker (music). X Atencio also wrote the attraction's script, i.e., what the characters say and the general story that is told.
Here are all of the voice credits for those you hear talking/singing:
The Ghost Host - Paul Frees
Coffin Occupant - Xavier Atencio
Madame Leota - Eleanor Audley
Organist's playing - William Sabransky (based on what Gaylord Carter played)
Constance Hatchaway (the bride) - Kat Cressida
THE SINGING BUSTS (left to right order):
Ned Nub - Jay Meyer (the soloist on "start to shriek!")
Uncle Theodore - Thurl Ravenscroft (you know him, the low one)
Rollo Rumkin - Verne Rowe
Phineas P. Pock - Bob Ebright
Cousin Algernon "Al" (derby hat) - Chuck Schroeder
--
Mummy - Allan Davies
Oracle (saying "What?") - Dallas McKennon
Soprano "Harriet" - Loulie Jean Norman
Tenor - Bill Reeve
Knight - Ernie Newton
Executioner - Bill Days
Prisoner - Candy Candido (voice of the Indian Chief in "Peter Pan" and the Crocodile announcer in "Robin Hood")
Ghost Hostess/Little Leota - Leota Toombs
I'll be posting the other tracks on this CD, with info and pictures, in the days leading up to Halloween 2011! (And be sure to watch an episode of a certain show called "Luna Eclipsed"!)

RIP Paul Frees (1920-1986). You are truly a legend.
He probably now lives at the Haunted Mansion.
Fun fact: She also was the one who voiced Malificent and The Evil Queen.
....But you all already knew this....
You mean Maleficent and Evil Stepmother.
She only voiced The Evil Queen in the audiobook
This was awesome. I absolutely love the ride in Disneyworld!!
THIS CHAMBER HAS NO WINDOWS AND NO DOORS, gets me everytime 😱
8:40 The party starts.
Actually, the audio between the two Mansions are almost identical, except the WDW version is a little longer, due to it having the library and staircases scenes.
In both the video description and in the annotations when she speaks, I say that Madame Leota's voice is Eleanor Audley. I'm not sure where you're looking, but I just double-checked.
Whenever I hear the Ghost Host's voice, I immediately picture him as that creepy white floating head from that one Courage the Cowardly Dog episode...
i love this ride in disneyland it is such a good ride i love how the guy says im your host ur ghost host and there's no turning back now i love the guys voice and i love the music but i want to go to disneyworld and see what haunted mansion is like over there
Next time I’m at the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland I’m going to play this version because I remembered riding before it became bilingual. Nothing against Spanish but for me it kind of takes away from the ride.
Thank you!
Yeaaaaaaaaaaahhhh.
I got X Atencio's autograph! He even sent me a Christmas card!
@pipeorganfan26: Gee, thanks for the input. The main feature of this "video" is the audio. The point is to listen to it, and the pictures are just extra.
I have a copy of this CD. My parents really love it.
i'm using this to make dubstep!
great collection of pictures...I came for Paul Frees ... I stay for the slide show.
lol you know what was funny?? when I was at disney land I was eating this sour candy
and the part when I was in the elivator the saliva of the canda went in the wrong pipe and I was screaming at this part 2:22
For Example This Is what it was like
Scary Voce: 2:12 of corse theres always my way..
Me: continues eating sour candy
THUNDER AND LIGHTNING CRASH
Me: saliva goes in wrong pipe *screams
2:22 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH xD
At the 5:27 mark the top of the right page is the spell Dean Jones' character finds in the handle of an antique bedwarmer and when he recites the words it brings to his eye and ears the ghost of Blackbeard as played by Peter Ustinov in the Disney movie "Blackbeard's Ghost."
Did you just now make this up?
well actually the "Librarys stocked with priceless first editions only ghost stories of course" and the rest of that sequence and the different stairs are not in the Disneyland HM
2:22 Sounded like an Eagle had a hernia! XD
My cadaverous pallor just laid an egg after seeing my comment after 3 years! 😛
My favorite movie is
The haunted mansion
As far as movies go, it was kind of meh.
Floppy the 🐘 from wonder pets loves the haunted mansion
Random...
i have been on that ride im going to disney land in may 18
Is there a specific track or cut you want? Maybe I can get it to you digitally.
Okkkk.
Nothing was actually added, everything was recorded during the original recording session. You can find the original ghost host demo recording here somewhere. The only huge difference I can spot is that the foyer dirge is in a lower pitch at Magic Kingdom.
I don't know if it's the exact same audio as the Disney World version. Why don't you read the Wikipedia article? I'll put a link in the description.
I love this so. Haven’t been to the happiest place on Earth in quite some time. It is October of the year 2017. Good time to make a long-overdue visit once more...
That would be nice : D
Maybe somehow. I can't think of how at the moment, but maybe if I was in the zone with the right software (which I don't have right now), I could do it.
I gotta get this album and replace the 5 minute version of Grim Grinning Ghosts on my Disneyland/Walt Disney World playlist with this and the rest
@SteffBatgirl: Thanks! I tried finding relevant images for all parts of the ride soundtrack.
Uhhhhh oooook?
SWEET
No, I do not have the script. I don't know where you would find that, but the Doom Buggies website might interest you.
This helped me build a spooky house on the Sims 3. Of Course I had to listen to it 3-4 times to get inspired.
Yeees?
Well, the audio on this CD did come directly from the Walt Disney Company's archives/masters.
My number one favorite ride at Disney...
And Cinderella's mother, before Susan Blakeslee took over the role. Yes, I did know. :)
I don't drink but I wouldn't want to ride this ride while intoxicated lol.
Great video, but the voice of Madame Leota was Eleanor Audley, not Leota Tombs, Tombs was only the image.
When and where?
I enjoyed the ride in Haunted Mansion, the 1st time I go to Disney with my family too. But this isn't so scary
@athienauf: It's one of my favorites, too, though I'm not sure what my overall favorite is...
yes.
Good luck with that.
Don't hold your breath. I've got a lot of other stuff I'd *like* to do, if I could find time and/or motivation.
coooooooooool Coooooooool.
IMAGINATION !
ART...TRUE ART....
Do u by any chance have the entire Disney World script? I found the disneyland script online but its outdated...
Jeff
I just meant "what was different".
@VIPStatusKodamz: Yes, it is!
I wonder what the audio editors added for WDW that isn't heard here.
Hits hits hits hits?
Does anyone else agree that this COULD be remixed with the Luigi's Mansion theme?
I agree
That would be cool
It is pretty cool!
Glad I could help!
he also reminds me of the anouncer from that undead overun gamemode in red dead redemption.
Is this the same as Magic Kingdom? I wanted to put it on a cd for my friend...
I'm glad you liked it; if only I had created it!
Ohhh any.
Can you please up the whole CD?
+kevfla No. The other songs on this album can be found in various other locations on RUclips already.
Lets All Skate shall we
I have a 1974 LP version of this, and not with Paul Frees. Thurl Ravenscroft narrates. And Donald Duck in Trick or Treat stories on the other side. Thanks for the upload.
Very interesting.

FUKIN BEUTIFUL.....
It looks awesome
Nice!
Cool
Please tell me the song from 07:38 - 08:39 the piano song. Thanks!
That's the music that plays in the attic. It's the Bridal Chorus by Richard Wagner, but in a minor key, and arranged to mesh together well with the tempo and chord progression of "Grim Grinning Ghosts". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridal_Chorus You can probably find more information at DoomBuggies.com

Hatbox ghost laugh at 7:57?
Too feminine. It's meant to be the laugh of Constance, the bride.
Can anyone hear Walt's voice?
Where?
@@dogman15No I'm asking, I heard a theory his voice is in it somewhere.
@@jacklesc3133 Walt's voice is not heard in this video. If you listen to the entire thing and think you hear his voice, let me know and I'll take another listen to that portion and give you my opinion.
