Good trick overall but that's got to be one of the worst forces ever. I'm not mathematical genius but even I was like "No, you wouldn't get a different card had she selected 17 or 19 because you'd be counting back from further away with more cards so you'd always end up on the 2 of hearts" as soon as he did it and tried to explain it away
When i thought this couldnt become more wholesome than already was here comes another magician dad with his daughter and makes it even better. Now i want to watch a magic show with these 4 doing tricks where Josie and Molly are the protagonists and the dads the assistants. So nice!
I'm sorry, but ever since Brian's epic Twitter meltdown over mayonnaise ads I can't stop thinking about it and laughing every time he uploads. I know everyone has bad days and I still have the upmost respect for Brian, but still. I can't stop laughing! lol

You get caught up in the moment of "ooh, magic trick" to realize that when it's being preformed, of course. The magician's magic words aren't "alakazam" but usually, as Brian calls them, lies. Keep people distracted and they won't notice. A LOT like the video on stealing watches from Modern Rogue
I liked everything except him explaining that if Josie had chosen more cards it would have meant a different card. When I perform I find saying something like that actually draws attention to the thing you dont want them to see. I always try to remember to not run unless I am being ♧♡♤◇.
What is audience etiquette if you work out what is going on? I knew immediately from my maths background that the magic number was wrong and he then asked if you understand that you had a genuine choice. It seems harsh to ruin their performance, and the rest of the audience's enjoyment, just because you've worked it out as the assistant.
i do wanna point out that not everyone will be comfortable with being put on the spot like that, so please just be mindfull to only do this if you're confident that they dont mind
15-6=9. Any number minus the sum of its digits is 9 or a multiple of 9. The 2 of Hearts is forced from the get go, based on the fact you limited to between 10 and 20. You would have taken away 10 cards if it was 19 cards, and you would be careful to make sure it wasn't 20. If it were 20, you'd remark how special it was that Josie had picked exactly 20 cards.
LOL I love that Molly went along with it for Josie's performance but was calling her own dad out, fortunately he was prepared for such things.. Also Josie's patter gets better and better over time, love watching her transformation into expert magician!
Speaking from experience, I can’t wait until Josie looks back on this video when she’s in her 30"s……same way Brian looks back on his scam school days….hey man we all went through it…it’s just fun to see it from the other end now LOL
Just wondering. If you end up with more than 19 (!) cards, you could do a false choice, where you half the amount of cards and finally stick with the first half of cards even adding more choices to the process. "Remember, you decided which pile we use..."

That force was so obvious when he said you could have had x card or y card. Just because of that sentence i realized it was a force because its obv you would have less cards. The only thing is because of the tape mistake I actually thought Molly was part of it around 3min looked like she moved a card down but it was clear she didnt palm anything. Cool trick
Silly thing to be wondering, but the two sided tape. I just see it getting dirty as it picks up everything it touches. Also, how do you smoothly set up so that you take the deck out of the box leaving the duplicate in. Sleight of hand, sure, but as an amateur...
I think the trick is better with the run down. The hole time I was thinking this was some kind of misdirection for his daughter to slide the card out. Especially since he messed up the first time.
Brent's favorite utility item for magic is definitely double stick tape. He's really opened my mind to the stuff. Excellent effect, and amazing episode.
