Doing magic for 16 years straight. This trick killed my knowledge ego. I salute the genius who made this. This is one of the rarest magic where the secret is way more fascinating than the trick itself.
Sam Schwartz is a total genius! I’m glad it fooled you!
Greetings all! I know you’re gonna dig this one!
Must be the best card trick i've ever seen, thanks a lot !
@@slashroar Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Let me know if you have any questions about the stuff at the 'secret link' :)
Really great trick and performance flawless as usual. You’ve almost broke Brian 😂
Your performance / adaptation was incredible! I'm going to have to watch this a few more times to understand it better. But dang! Watching Brian's brain have a light bulb moment, followed by shattered glass, followed by a floodlight coming ablaze... Bravo!
This is the rare condition where the method was every bit as good as the performance.
This is absolutely diabolical. I love it!! It's not often that my mind is blown from the trick ***and*** the explanation....!
Right? The method is super genius
After watching this I realize I'm too dumb to be a magician. I would absolutely screw this up.
@@dameonk nothing about smarts maybe some comprehension skills but it's mostly practise practise practise
I love when the explanation is better than the trick
This might be the single greatest thing I've seen on this channel! This is brilliant!
Thank you! I agree, it's possibly the best thing I've shared on the channel. It's all downhill from here, lol
@@JoeDiamondLive Don't worry, I won't tell Brian you said that. Thanks again for sharing!
This would have been actually impressive if the back of the cards were a solid color so we know they arent marked.
@@joneinarmattiasvisser6113 marked or not, has nothing to do with this presentation.
I feel like Penn when he almost threw his chair after being fooled by Kostya Kimlat. This is better than most of the stuff I see on Fool Us. The fact that you could do this trick blindfolded is amazing. This has to be the greatest trick that an unskilled person could achieve with a deck of cards. I can't think of a better trick that requires no sleight of hand.
Thank you 😊
@@JoeDiamondLive this killed my brain lol. Props to you! I love it
@@dylancooper4993 thank you! I’m glad you love it!
he just did it on Penn and Teller
@@daveborn1971 I DID! This is the exact video that caught the eye of the producers!
Was watching Fool Us and as soon as Joe said "Cut about a third of the deck" my mind went back to this video. Great job, Joe!
Thank you! Glad you came back! This is the exact video the producers loved that got me the TV spot!
I love this trick. It pretends to use a few different staples in magic. Yet it does it a completely different way. I like how one card actually is the key for the other. The method is a beautiful dance. Thank you so much!
Right? Such a brilliant method. The creator was a genius.

Several are saying it's the best trick on the channel, and I'm honored :)
@@JoeDiamondLive it is!!!!
@@JoeDiamondLive It is, it is also the first trick I have ever done, as soon as I saw you doing and explained it I picked a deck of cards and started practicing it. Thanks.

I meant this trick is in multiple books ...
This is an absolute top drawer card trick that I intend to practice till it comes out of my ears. Thank you so much for sharing the kill for secret... so good !!!!

@@JoeDiamondLive i love this so much like. *chefs kiss* its perfect
This is brilliant, just brilliant. I'm a big fan of "mathematical" card tricks which have a good method instead of just counting cards. And I love the idea of planting a pre-set deck in someone's home with a way to check that it hasn't been disturbed before you return. This will be one of my go-to effects. Thank you!

Okay, full disclosure here. I know nothing about magic tricks (though I do enjoy them), but this video appeared on my feed (thank you RUclips!), and holy cow, what an incredible video! Now I'm intrigued by this trick, and I need to watch this about a dozen more times to try and understand it! Thanks much for sharing your incredible knowledge Joe!
Hope you try it! This trick just got me on National TV: ruclips.net/video/Kql5oar-UIE/видео.htmlsi=dl2eUZ7_u6ntW2nC
I must have watched this 15 times this week, and I'm still enthralled. This is the most elegant mind reading trick I've ever seen. It's gorgeous in its craftsmanship. Most of my friends and family are engineers and other analytical people, and this will now be a trick that I perform exactly as it is here, complete with the explanation. It's an even BETTER trick when you know how it works. Thank you Joe, Brian, Dez, and the whole Scam Nation team.
Thank you! I agree, it’s definitely one of the best mind reading effects ever
Possibly the best trick that's ever been featured on Scam Nation. And what makes it sooo good is Joe Diamond's brilliant presentation, his patter ("Now I couldn't possibly know anything about these cards..."), his misdirection, (" You've shuffled these too, yes? No? Shuffle them now!") and - most of all - his wonderfully engaging style. This trick goes immediately into my repertoire, complete with all Joe's patter. Sorry, Joe - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! Thanks to all concerned for this fantastic post.
No worries. I do the presentation right from the book. I hope it works for you! 🖤
Amazing! First, my copy of Simpatico arrives in the mail, and now this gets posted! On the same freakin' day!
I’ve been doing card tricks for about 14 years and this one is not only the best effect ever but there are no moves at all. No double lifts, pinky breaks, etc. Anybody can do this with a little practice. I seen you doing this on fool us, and was mind blown. Thanks for sharing Joe ❤
Thanks for watching! This is the exact video that got the attention of the producers of FOOL US!
@@JoeDiamondLive Awesome dude!
Jeez, Brian. Couldya BE any more amazed? It's a great trick.

I was clapping all the way... One of those rare tricks where the method is even better than the effect! Absolutely wonderful!
Right? So good! Thanks for watching!
That is an absolutely brilliant trick. I was thinking like Brian and Dez the whole time, and the actual reveal makes me love and hate this effect all at once.
Thank you 😂
I spotted it immediately & was hoping it was what I thought it was! I only recognized it because I do have all f the card colleges books & the light books & the card college videos! Yes, I’m a Robert Giobbi fan.
LOVE those books! So good!
I have Card College Light and have read this trick, and it still fooled me. The misdirection with the third packet is genius as I could have sworn all three packets were shuffled. Brilliant stuff. And I can totally imagine Mr Burger slaying magicians with this in that special way only he could pull off.
Can you tell me name of trick in card College ??
@@hansen704 thot echo, it is in both light and regular card college.
@@rafelingd thanks👍….
Wow, this is a great trick! I like that you can practice it on yourself and still blow your mind.
Yo, I'm dead! This trick is phenomenal. A magician fooler if I've ever seen one. No sleights, minimal setup, nearly completely self working. I'm very impressed!
Thank you! It’s been a favorite for years 😊
Sweet gods of misdirection, this one is brilliant. I had also NO idea, but will put this in my routine now!
Awesome 😊
Terrific! So elegant and clever! Thanks, folks ❤️🙏
This trick is amazing, but the hardest part of it all is making sure you have the piles placed back the way there supposed to go without forgetting which is which. The bottom pack goes on the top pack, and the middle pack goes on top. When performing it and talking it can get easy to forget which ones what. Lots of practice
Yup! I always practice as much as possible
@@JoeDiamondLive We have a member of our local magic club here in Kentucky who says that he practices a trick 'a thousand times' before he performs it in public. And I'm sure he isn't exaggerating because he's won our annual close-up contest several times. Point is...practice, practice, practice, then...practice some more.
I've always been hoping for a literal hands off trick, this is so good
I absolutely love how mindblown and amazed Brian is from this effect and method. I absolutely love it!!!
This is why I am into this! Thank you for this method, thank you Brian, Joe and Dezrah for your enthusiasm!
Thank you for YOUR enthusiasm 😊
We all know brian hams it up for the show but in this trick he's seriously getting mind blown
I use to do magic tricks. From cards to rubber bands to coins, cloth and more. I actually found the channel Scam School by sheer coincidence and was already into magic so I loved it. I knew a few moves and tricks they showed but learned so much more from them that I didn't before. While I don't practice it anymore I still love to watch it, and will occasionally fiddle with a string, a band, or something.
This is one of the best tricks I’ve ever seen, not just on this channel. As someone who loves puzzling out tricks and coming up with methods this absolutely crushed my brain. Thanks for teaching this Joe!!
So glad you enjoyed it 😊
OMG! What an amazing effect! Thank you to Joe and Brian for sharing this GEM with us.
Thank You 💎
This was so powerful. Thanks for sharing it with the world.🙌
This is now officially my favourite opener trick, the little seasoning by removing the joker and show the deck, that's perfect.
Thank you! I’m glad that little touch I added spoke to you 😊
This trick, the 6 and 9 perspective trick and the small card trick are tricks that I do and will be performing when I go out. Absolutely amazing stuff
Thank you! 😊 so glad you use so much of my stuff
Woaouh !! This is probably the most spectacular trick I've seen on this channel. Amazing and SOOOOO CLEVER !!!
Congratulations and big thanks Joe Diamond
Thank you so much 😊
Absolute quality content! Thank you sooo much!
Also I love the positivity and fun you guys alwys show there.
Thank you! 😊 so glad you enjoy it
I had to watch it a few times to really get it.
One person is allowed to shuffle and then picks the top card (Brian)
The other person checks the top card and then shuffles. (Dez)
By shuffling and then picking, the card stays at the top of that chunk, and that chunk goes to the bottom of the deck.
The number in the Dez pile tells how many cards are in Brian's pile + 10 because of the arrangement before the trick began.
The magician has to set up the pile beforehand and keep track of where the cuts are going and orchestrate who gets to shuffle vs checking the card and how the deck should be arranged at the end. Amazing trick overall.
Woooowwww!!!! Just wow 😲🔥 someone just used 100% of his brain. Wow absolutely loved it ❤️🙌🏻
😂thank you
Wow, this trick is ingenious!
This trick is amazing but the whole process of how its done is even more amazing!! 👏👏
This trick is so good, it was explained to me in full detail and I had to rewatch the entire video just to understand it.
Yeah, it takes a few run throughs to get it locked in, but once you have it, you're golden!
Don't feel bad, I also immediately watch the entire video, again.
Riiiiiiiight?!?
@@JoeDiamondLive My praise may mean nothing as a bystander, but your ability to revive the oldest methods has always astounded me. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
@@Rambo.cc.1188 it means everything to me! Thank you for your interest in my work 🔮
What a brilliant routine so fun to follow the ride
This is brilliant! As a magician the method fooled me nearly more deeply than the trick itself. I think what I love the most about is the beautifully timed arrangement of revealing and receiving the necessary informations.
Thank you 😊
This is nice. It's a bear to explain but easy to actually do it.
I think that's where people, especially me, get tripped up. Don't worry so much about understanding the mechanics at first. Just follow along with a deck in your hands and it simply works!
I literally cant get over this. Powerful powerful stuff. Love magician foolers like these
Me Too 😊
Such an awesome trick. I had to watch the video several times to even be able to reproduce it! It boggles the mind. Thanks Joe! Someone below in the comments asked if you could alternate suits while doing this for a possible additional layer of obfuscation. I thought this same idea. Just assign, let's say, all the odd cards to the spades and all the even cards to the clubs (or use black and red suits, doesn't matter). Setup the exact the same and when it comes time to find the first card, pull out the lowest cards you see that are spades and clubs. This adds an extra wrinkle in there that may benefit from some extra patter. When I tested this for instance, I pulled up a 5C, 6S, 5S and a 3C. I can spend a little extra time here to "divine" the card. I know the clubs are even and the spades are odd so I can eliminate the 5C, 6S and 3C immediately in my head. I'm left with the 5S which is the lowest card of the spades and clubs AND follows my test of even or odd. You then can continue the trick exactly the same and it works perfectly. I'm not sure this really adds anything to the trick, but it might allow an interesting extra twist. I'm sure you could go even further with your own unique stack that you memorize ahead of time and use that way, in which case you could show the cards in their entirety, but obviously having them descend to a finite point is the easiest way to quickly grab their card.
I don’t think you could because the top random 11 cards on top will confuse you once it’s shuffled in then you won’t be able to know what’s what
@@timscoviac So I'll write out the steps here. With practice this is absolutely doable.
1. Stack the deck from top to bottom in the following way: 11 random cards, As, 2d, 3s, 4d, 5s, 6d, 7s, 8d, 9s, 10d, Js, Qd, Ks, then the rest of the deck in random order.
2. Now remember, at this point "Diamonds Even, Spades Odd", and memorize that completely.
3. Perform that trick exactly as outlined in the video. You won't know if it's a Spade or Diamond at this point but you do know the first card selected is one of those two suits. That might weaken the trick or you could have some fun with it.
4. When you are ready to find the first card, start to go through the upper third of the deck. As soon as you see a spade, if it is not odd, then continue on. As soon as you see a diamond, if it is not even, continue on. If you hit an odd spade, outjog the card momentarily as if you have found a possible result or just remember the rank (so let's say it was a Ks, think KING). If you hit an even diamond, do the same, outjog the card as a possible selection or now add to the array of ranks in your head (let's say it was a Qd, now think KING, QUEEN).
5. As SOON as you feel you have made it through the third of the deck think of all the ranks you mentally filed away (or outjogged) and quickly find the LOWEST rank of all these cards. THAT is your first card! If you ended on a 6d, for example, now the sequence in your head would be KING, QUEEN, 6. The 6 is the lowest and you know it is a diamond because it is even. In fact, as you find lower ranks that fit the rules, you don't even need to think about the higher ranks.
5. Add ten to this rank and that will give you your next card, counted from the bottom of the deck.
Again, I'm not sure this adds much to the routine other than to complicate it, but maybe it would allow you to show the deck more cleanly.
interesting twist. it would certainly slow you down, since it’s way more difficult to find the lowest card with odds from one suite and evens from the other, but maybe you can still be fast enough to not raise suspicion. another downside is that you can no longer do the mentalism misdirection, since you don’t know the suite of the card anymore
I find the magicians tools and methods so much more fascinating and beautiful than the trick itself. I used to hate magicians, because magic tricks always felt like a middle finger. When these things are explained it feels inclusive, and I find the tricks so much smarter and fascinating now. Thank you for making these videos and sharing the knowledge.
Thank you 😊
That is absolutely brilliant! Thanks, Joe!

It been a while and I had to watch it again. This time with a deck ready to follow along, now I got it. It is so genius. You can say hey you want to see a trick and when you get the cards you set it up before returning. Or it can stay prepacked to go as the first trick.

Very cool trick! I like how Brian keeps saying Joe is a genius, he got the trick from a book lol
Yes, all my genius is from old books I’ve read 🧠
I did this one with several family members around the dinner table tonight. I would have to reset the deck each time. They thought I was trying to memorize all the cards and where they were in the deck! Never caught on I was rearranging in a specific way.
