The Dudley Boyz (aka Team 3D) signed and debuted for the World Wrestling Federation (now known as WWE) in late-1999. The duo was already massively sucessful in ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) based in Philadelphia.

Evidently John Laurinaitis got in Vince McMahon's ear and made the call not to re-sign them to a deal. The Dudleyz would end up in TNA before returning to WWE in Aug 2015.
