Just restored a sidebar that my parents passed down to me. It was from the 70s so the stain and handles were very dated. I chalk painted it in a cream color and replaced the handles with glass knobs. My first time chalk painting. I am thrilled how nice it came out
The more I watch you, the more of your personality comes through. You have a great personality, you are a great Mom and wife, and last but not least, your passion for your craft sure shows!
I just found you this week and am TOTALLY in love with your style. I am so glad I found you. This is what my husband and I want to do when I retire next year. Thank you and God bless.
After watching this video I decided to paint my old dresser gray and drawer knobs silver like you did and it looks great! Just the right touch of glam! Thanks for your tutorials, you are straightforward and get the job done - I love that!
Thank you for your amazing idea of challenging those in furniture refurbishing field. Each time someone responded to showcasing their response, it opened my eyes to that proverbial "Ah-Ha" moment. I grew up with my parents doing the same esp during the 50s. Dad built bookcases, & several other items but recall esp a headboard with two shelves for a few books, the radio etc. Dark blue paint. Light blue quilted material near the front meeting the mattress. Mother spent hours chemical stripping a very old family kitchen cupboard & painted the interior...pink, which I have today, except for the pink. I painted the interior dark green again. Because I don't have my own house at moment, my treasure is sitting in proper a/c'ed unit awaiting the time that I can make necessary repairs & place her within a home for daily use, right where she ought be. So thank you, again for reminding me what I can do to keep engaged in this life. And as side note, I view it as possible income in future when the eagle as no egg to deposit each month for me. 😘 🌿🌺🌿
Loved all the things you made, I’ve watch so many of your videos the last few days and am so impressed how you transform old worn out furniture into beautiful pieces. I have a broken shoulder at the moment and a lot of time on my hands. Thank you for keeping me occupied and taking my mind off the pain.
My husband paints cars often and has the really expensive paint guns. It doesn't matter if it's a professional sprayer or not, cleaning them properly is an absolute must...Great Job on all your projects
I think the colors on the last project look like a peacock. I love bright colors and enjoy the occasional pop like this had. I also really appreciate you taking the time to fix the little kitchen toy for your kids. So much more meaningful than a plastic one from a big box store.
Hello from South Australia 🇦🇺 I think we’re kindred spirits! When you said you are forever changing your rooms and furniture around, that’s me! When you said you NEED to be creative, that’s me! Today was the first time I’ve watched you and I will be for sure watching you again.
Fabulous, the simplicity of the wreath made it stunning. We used to live in Arizona the decade of the 90s this made me homesick for the desert. I found the best yard sales and thrift stores their. Thank you keep uploading.
Angela all your project but I especially like the little kitchen that you got for your children at the yard sale and I like how they try to mimic you and your kitchen that is really sweet and your friend Alma Bransford may God continue to bless your family and your channels thank you so much for
Thank you so much for watching. I have Ssooooooo many more project videos for you to watch in my trash to treasure pkaylist and I have new ones coming out every week. :)
Gives me inspiration to paint my lower cabinets grey. I bought a 100 yr old house with half a kitchen, so one side has no cabinets. I bought an old Hoosier type cabinet, refinished it, and painted all white. I am thinking of painting either the sliding doors or just the bottom grey. I love that look you created! Thanks.
Ms. Desert DIY...Thank you so very much for your congenial personality. That was the inspiring glue of this video. I am also really encouraged to carry out the creativity that I have had on hold for so long. AND...I AM GOING TO DO IT! YOUR IMAGINATION IS AMAZING. i ESPECIALLY APPRECIATED THE BLACK CALLIGRAPHY CANVAS WITH THE CHECKED BOW, even though all of your projects kept my attention. THANKS AGAIN DESERT DIY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR LITTLE ONES!
Anna, you are wonderful. Thank you so much for taking time to brighten my day with your kind words. I cant wait to hear about the projects you are working on :)
I'm a new "friend" here... almost a year later ... and 💖LOVE💖 your videos. You do beautiful work and are such an inspiration! Thank you for all you share!😊
This is the first time I've seen one of your videos... very creative, and I adore your old soul. 🙂 The things that you take the time to slow down and notice AND APPRECIATE, It's just beautiful. You are a breath of fresh air in a very troubled time for us all. You remind me so much of myself. Several of my friends use to tell me that I am the oldest young person they've ever met! Lol Thank you for the ideas!
I have been binge watching all your videos! I am so hooked!! Long story but hd to start over in life. Had to buy all new furniture in my new place. Well I got habit restore and goodwill finds. Have evry intention of painting all of it and making it mine. Thank you! ❤
I loved the story of the father making the kitchen for the daughter, my dad used to make me things that would last...my fav memory was him carving me wooden boats and using pop cans to make the propeller so it made waves in the water as I pulled it along 😊
Love these projects! That one where you used paint & then wax & then...wait, I forget what you did but it was 😍gorgeous😍! I think it must have been the second one for your daughter’s room? I just love that you’re keeping things out of the landfills! Once I clear out some of my junk, I’m hoping to be able to get back to flipping items - for fun *and* profit. (But mostly for fun!) Keep it up, you’re very inspiring! 🥰
Just found your channel. You have inspired me to do a few of these and to look for treasures for my home. It seems like chalk paint, spray paint and some elbow grease will make something beautiful! Thank you so much for your creativity. I used to love flipping and crafts and just stopped. But you've inspired me to get my mojo back! Keep doing what your doing. God bless you and your family!
@@DesertDIY I'm working on a metal chair that has a padded seat. I'm spray painting it with an outdoor spray paint from crylon and upholstering the padded seat with a vegan leather. I'm also going to add a much more comfortable padding to the chair. Thanks for the inspiration! 😉😉😍😍😙
I love the compilation style videos I literally just found your channel and I'm loving it!! Thank you for all the ideas I love that table your said you got from your mom!! How gorgeous and inventive!! Love your channel ♥️
PS I'm so glad you said that you constantly changed your house around I let me husband listen to that part and said see?? I'm not the only one he says I drive him crazy with that lol he will come home from work and walk in and be like really?? Again?? Lol
I totally understand the NEED to be creative. I can get a little obsessed with keeping a piece of furniture to rehab or something to craft or crochet or sew...you get the idea, lol. Nice projects! 👍🏻😊
I love the color!!!❤️ We so need that right now! You make everything you do look so effortless, I guess it's because you love doing it! Thank you for sharing with those of us who can't!🤟
I'm renovating an entire double wide. (The windows fell inside, the walls still hoot when it's windy and when it rains... the water flows down the stove front.). So, I'm working on the small bathroom's walls, floor, ceiling and Rust-Oleum paint the tub and sink. Imagine, people slashed the corners, cabinets, windows and walls. It was so filthy, most people advised not buying it. We love our home.
I'm a single mom and about 8 years ago I had to start all over (right after my son was born). So with very little money I bought or got for free furniture for my home. Good quality but that orange wood stain yuck lol anyway I made due with the plan to paint, etc... Well I'm finally getting to it. Its like I have a whole new house and I'm pretty proud of myself. It helps with motivation and creativity from videos like this, thank you!!
Thank you Candice. My ability to give furniture new life actually comes from having a single mother who had to start over with nothing. We even had to use the 3rd row seat of our old beat up van as a couch for a while. We used to pick up furniture from the side of the road and made due with that, but we were happy. Now I have turned those memories and skills I learned as a kid into a business. Single moms like you make strong, resilient children :) im so glad you are finally taking time to make your house a home. You deserve it.
I also agree that the fabric resembled a bird. It turned out pretty. I must say that you are very talented. I just found your videos and I am thankful that I did. Have a blessed day.
I'm in Arizona too. Thanks for sharing all your projects. They are so amazing and you are so talented. At least with your videos I can relate to the stores and pick things up as I need them.
Yay!!!!! Yes, its hard when people name all these places to get supplies and you are thinking "whaaaaat???". I try and keep my stores simple. Home depot, lowes, Walmart. And they all sell online, too! I bet Amazon carries all the supplies I use as well.
I will be doing some videos with it very soon. My tripod broke so it took me a little while to get my new one since store are still closed for shopping here.

Thanks for watching! It only works on glass, so sometimes you have to use tape still. And everyone's projects approaches are different, it doesn't make my choice any better. If you prefer tape then tape it up, girl! :)
I really like your videos where you put things together like this period then when you link it in the description below we can go really check it out if we want to. Thank you for doing this
