Overheating with the 460 is common when they sit for a long time and don't get used. At idle it probably wouldn't overheat because there is no load and the water pump isn't creating that much suction pressure until the rpms are increased and the hose collapses. Change the thermostat and the intake cooling hose and add an external oil cooler if it doesn't have one.
As a buyer, if the salesman says we haven't taken 15 min to test any of the systems what I am hearing is ''we have tested all of the systems and none of them works''. It looks really cool though for the real price.
The overheating probably happens when climbing hills most likely. On flat land most vehicles don't have to work that hard, but climbing a hill that's different. I mean this would probably be OK if someone wanted to buy it just to park it somewhere and live in it. I mean overheating is an issue for an RV. I would figure out what causes it and see what the fix would have to be. I mean when you buy used stuff like this, especially ones that are in "good shape" you have to ask yourself why the person sold the unit in the first place.. some people just want something newer, while others may look nice and appear to be fine on the outside, but may have big issues. LIke this one could have an internal problem or a head gasket problem that could be causing it to overheat, and that could be an expensive job to replace.
Great job presenting this rv.....not too many honest salesmen out there.
