Holy Wave mentioned Peel Dream Magazine in a post on ig. I immediately loved them after listening to the first 10secs of Wish You Well. Love that feeling.

Sharing old photos is something you should start doing with every video. I just got the first Melena's record. Still haven't heard the second one but you turned me on to their third last year. Good stuff. The band "Fin Del Mundo" has a new release in October I'm excited about. I just pray to the god of the bible before listening so I can be blessed with the gift of interpreting tongues. It's pretty cool. Not sure you'll get that kind of deal from Lucifer.
Peel Dream and Parsnip look interesting too. Thanks Bruh.

I just wanted to showcase my 88 year history wearing toupée’s. What a long strange trip it’s been. I listened to one of the tracks on the upcoming Fin Del Mundo album (at least I think it is going to be on there, might be wrong) - sounded good. I will always feel blessed that I finally embraced Lucifer with all of my heart and officially named Him my co-pilot.

Hilarious intro! Some might say you're the Anton Chigurh of the VC, presenting No Indie For Old Men, intedning to digitally penetrate with your proverbial "captive bolt pistol", new music into the foreheads and ear holes of your victims. My only issue is that it leaves me wanting more releases than my ability 'to pay' ;) All kidding aside, it was cool to see your evolution from young nipper to current Vinyl Douche. It's a great look, it suits you and the channel; I wouldn't change a thing (not that you're intending to). The overall sound of the Star Trip - Velocidad (2024) most intrigued me; I also liked the album cover art, which seemed to me to evoke four different Sloan album covers...I guess I like that graphic style...no idea of there is a name for it. Cheers!

No Indie For Old Men. I’m going to keep that in my back pocket for when I need it. Glad you dug the Star Trip - I’m often hesitant to talk about music with non-English vocals because so many people need to sing along. Thanks for hanging out (and enjoying the opening). Cheers!

@@TheVinylDouche By all means, keep it in your back pocket. 👍 Though both my folks were English speaking, maybe having been an English minority here in Quebec, leaves me more open to language differences. That said, I do not have a ton of non-English in my collection. One of my faves is Titán - Elevator (1999); they hailed from Mexico City. I particularly used to play the funky track 'King Kong' within a party mix. The album kind of has an eclectic, lounge-y, funky, 90s electronica a la Beck, Moby, Dirty Projectors retro thing going on. It remains a vinyl white whale for me. The Dining Rooms - Numero Deux (which I do own) is another I liked from back then; around the turn of the millenium; this one is more downbeat / trip-hop / groove oriented, atmospheric...with only occasional smatterings of french language. It's quite a vibe though. Outer limits of my tastes but I really like them both. ✌

Hi Sam - while it is true that I am always looking for sing-along songs, it is also true that sing-along songs are not the ONLY songs I'm looking for. So Party Dozen might work for me. Spanish lyrics is pretty much a red-flag for me (any non-English lyrics) but otherwise another great batch of records. Thanks for showing them!

Hey Randy. Yeah, a lot of folks can’t do the non-English lyrics. Completely understandable. Party Dozen worth a look. Thanks for hanging. Cheers!

I always assumed the bad toupees were on purpose, like the Elton John outfits in the 70s and 80s. Parsnip - definitely now on my list (as also in my taste profile).

Shave that noggin' and see how you feel. Been doing that for over 2 decades now. It's effin' liberating! And you get the bonus "Fuck Weather" mentality....

Thank Satan for all the people willing to say what we were all afraid to say. I really loved those samples from Party Dozen. Will check it out to see if I can handle a full album’s worth of that skronk. The new Dummy got completely past me. This is why I rely on you, Sam. I’ll try to grab this one on vinyl. Star Trip sounds good too. Can’t wait for more Adventures In Toupee Shopping. I hope the interest rates are better over there than here. Great stuff, Sam 😎✌🏻

Satan rules. Party Dozen is worth a look for sure - but I can see where it definitely isn’t going to work for everyone. Might want to become a Dummy cassette completist. Just for fun. I’m kind of surprised that everyone thinks I’ve been wearing a piece since I was in kindergarten now. My little bits just seem to keep falling flat. Thanks for stopping by. Cheers!

I think you should just lean into it and become a Hims spokesperson. Don't pay them. Make them pay you. They get a free plug--and you get free plugs. Loved the Dummy, but I was mostly bored by Peel Dream Magazine. The other thing I liked last week was this four song EP from this postpunk-ish group called It Thing. I found it on Bandcamp. Great video. I always thought it was your real hair, if that makes you feel better.

It is my real hair. Another joke bit that apparently fell flat. But, I may reach out to Hims regardless. Sounds like a good deal to me. I’ll take a listen to that It Thing EP. Thanks for hanging. Cheers!

I have recently been getting a lot out of your episodes. I have listened to a lot of extreme metal in the last two years and the harsh vocals and the noisy production on many releases started to become too much.
