@@CosmoWeems tough call. The fact that the BW is insulated with furnace, & water tank makes it fit my 4 season need. Adding insulation and H2O tanks are really tough mods.

    Thanks for showing this camper!
Good things that have come from the increased camper demand/inflation are all the new small manufacturers giving us choices, innovation, and quality WAY over the mass produced stuff. And now that knowledge is being passed on to the "budget" models. Looking good.

Wow honestly this is something amazing because literally nowadays with all the shipping constraints and inflation, some of these Camper Trailers are getting to the price of a compact car!
Not to mention this way to can build and grow with this Trailer to make it yours along with probably getting it faster without all the bits and bobbles that will inevitably break
I got a fun throught, the image that shows the back cooking area removed,
what if there was a way to fold that cooking area to the side similar to the old land Cruiser seats that fold to the side
    or
even a modular layout where you can slide/ lock the cooking/prep area down into the trailer similar how people in Truck Shell campers
sleep on one side with their stuff on the other side for easy access.
    The potential is limitless!
Great job hope the Road Toad lives on!!

I really like the idea of the open layout "cargo" version. I could see customers coming up with all sorts of clever pop-in/pop-out/lay-flat storage and kitchen setups.
That is the one thing I like about some of the "budget" manufacturers is their huge fan base sharing customizations.
Starting with a budget camper with good bones is key. These look like keepers!
    Thanks!

Cary and Craig are great people!
I've bought 2 trailers from them. The amount of care they put into everything inspires me, no exaggeration...they are completely focused on quality and solving problems before they exist.
Perfect, no -- none are. I did have a warranty claim on my first camper. It was solved with no questions asked, and the repair was done right, and right on time. The problem I had on mine, yah. Reengineered. Fixed in the their next generation. :D

@@CosmoWeems Still above ground and enjoying the Earthly views LoL ... We got our booster and flu shot... then, in November, left in our Honda Pilot to "follow fall" to Texas, Florida and back again - We adopted the Honda Pilot micro-campervan setup as shown in "Chris and Emilie's" RUclips channel
      (ruclips.net/video/RQkJ_ZJE4tg/видео.html)
It was an easy to do setup that basically makes a Pilot into a teardrop camper. It was great traveling the 4,700 miles without towing our T@G as we did last time,
Our kids thought we were nuts, but then, were so surprised to find out just how comfortable our bed was as well as the efficiency of our "kitchen" setup! (We saved over $200 in fuel costs getting 33mpg on eco mode... spending the money ahead of time outfitting the Pilot with two great 3.5" single inflatable mattress pads from Outdoorsman Labs and a memory foam pad we already had. We also bought "Roadies window tents" that kept our SUV ventilated and protected from the rain.) We did not follow their clothing storage, but used our packing cubes instead and stacked them in the space behind the front seats.
Ps. I wonder how far the Tesla got towing the Camp-Inn before needing a charge...

Thanks for a great intro... Oct now and even at $6,835 for the RoadToad Abode, your no-wood design is awesome. Does the RodeToad Totes come with the same insulated walls and roof? The toy-hauler aspect appeals to me

  • @bephoebe

Hi Cosmo: Thank you for yet another wonderful and informative video. I love these teardrops. When I saw the Totes I immediately thought, 'that is the one for me! I am a big fan of flexible space and simplicity. I especially like the easy-clean interior and the gear tie-downs. My question for you is, how did they do the wiring in this unibody? Are there covered conduits on the walls? I am thinking about how I would add to the electrical system after purchase. Thanks again.

Wiring for the taillights is run, I believe, underneath the trailer. Interior electrical in the totes is entirely in the passenger side rear corner, with the shore power connection on the outside just under the r. taillight.
I'm putting a small storage/headboard at the front of mine that will have 12v and USB ports. For the wiring I'm just running it along the edge of the floor using adhesive plastic "wire hiders".

Hello. No I have not seen a Bean! I will say this about that. Its important to evaluate your needs and make sure the rig you are getting meets your needs and is nice to be in as well as live out of. Then of course there technical construction etc. to consider. Support and builders years experience ranks high on my list too. I am very happy with my Vistabule 6 years into it. Ventilation is very important to me. All seem to be at the pricey end of the spectrum...but really nice. Love to hear what someone with your extensive experience level would think. Keep up the great work!

Thanks Tom. This is not unusual for trailer makers. The Pandemic has created lots of demand. Supply line issues are also delaying production. Its a global issue. On the tour of the Camp-Inn facility they talked about this. ruclips.net/video/WXiJyD8oSY0/видео.html On a visit to Vistabule ruclips.net/video/Gcd2ALUU1To/видео.html they indicated long waits too due to demand and supply line issues also. I know Vistabule is making major investments to speed production and we should see reduced delivery time this summer. On the positive side these makers are at the top of the pack and worth waiting for. 𝕋𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕜 𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕨𝕒𝕥𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘! ✅ Check my other videos ruclips.net/user/cosmoweemsvideos

I’m making this comment off the top of my head without more research. But just this week I watched a video on “ Playing with Sticks” and he was interviewing a gentleman about the basic “ Bushwacker” teardrop. My quick thought after watching this video on the “Camp-In Toad” is that with the “ Camp-In “ you are getting a much better build quality and quality control than with the “Bushwacker” and for the same price range.
I’d be interested in comments about the two.
    Thanks.

    • @CosmoWeems
      @CosmoWeems  2 года назад +2

Did they actually recommend a Bushwacker? Ha ha ha ha ha. Camp-Inn customer service, experience and quality is superior to Bushwacker on every measure. I camped with Brian and his Bushwacker trailer back in April. ruclips.net/video/Wflkp6t1vik/видео.html $10,000 and you have to fix it? Does not make sense to me. SO MANY better choices available. I would be more comfortable with $6000 and doing it right myself. Keep looking till you are comfortable and not settling. you deserve better. 𝕋𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕜 𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕨𝕒𝕥𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘! =𝓒𝓸𝓼𝓶𝓸 ✅

open shelf kitchen creates options- for me.
    Chill
I want to install small IceCo fridge 12v, run it off Bluetti solar/battery unit. The power sourced from the back I like.
    Water
And potentially install Atmosphere Water producer ...countertop version AC power ( research needed for vibration issues?) My Bluetti can handle power consumption . Create drinking water off condensation.
I like the spare tire mount and box. Looks aerodynamic.
Additionally a roof rack for weather protection tarp. Ya...
I have a EV so for me weight and aerodynamics look easier on my car battery range. Plus my Solargen can trickle charge my car if push comes to shove. 😆

OMG Cosmo.. you have just sold me on a trailer and cost me about 10 grand... I have been following you for about 3 years and since I can't jump in for the trailer of my dreams, the Vistabule, this is the one I am getting .. I live in Savannah, GA so going to be quite a hike to pick it up but I am no longer going to put off this bucket list item... I just had a birthday and thanks to you have now decided to treat myself...just a couple of questions ... I am a bike rider like you and wonder if there is a way to attach my swagman bike rack... I also have a subaru outback and want to get the trailer with the 14 inch tires so I can go off road and boondock...do I need to make any adjustments to make this work??
I know I can ask camp inn these questions but since you're video is costing me 10 grand I thought I would pick your brain first...
Wish me luck, I plan to sleep on it tonight and call first thing Monday morning...I am so nervous....
thank you so much for this video... you are a great salesman...(also own the jackery and other items you've shown.)

WOW! I would love to see you in the right trailer. To do that its a good idea to chew on it with a friend. to see how you camp etc. I roof mount my bicycle. I have a stool I can stand on to do it. You are on the right track with the larger tires. I do not know what suspension this trailer has. I would want to know that. Off road means different things to some. Its good to have an idea of what it means to you. Dirt roads will be no problem its the rough stuff thats the problem HNY =Cosmo

The specifications section of the Road Toad website shows the tongue height of the trailer with different size tires listed. I'm not sure the hitch height of the Outback, but it'll give you a starting point to look at. Remember the back of your vehicle may sit slightly lower when loaded. There is some adjustability in the suspension, so that can also help. And of course there's raise/drop hitches. If possible you want the trailer level or *slightly* nose-up, in case you want to sleep in the teardrop without unhitching.
Be sure to bring your bike when you pick up your trailer. The Camp-Inn factory is only 45 minutes away from the Elroy-Sparta state bike trail.

    • @jamesmoore9008
      @jamesmoore9008 2 года назад

There doesn’t seem to be a rear receiver option for the trailer. You could buy a dual hitch receiver adapter with a high rise for your vehicle where the trailer would hook up to the bottom one and a bike rack would hook up to the top receiver. If you Google what I’m talking about you’ll see what I mean.
