So on the subject of Posieson's blood being red. Gwendy explained in a video that the reason his (and Athena's) blood is red is because when they tried to make it gold it looked like mustard. So yeah, Posiedon having red blood was a stylistic choice.

@@itsmxtwist Have you seen that short someone made of the 600 Men rushing out of the Underworld while Hades just sat at his table holding onto a vase with Persephone on it for dear life looking absolutely distressed and confused? XD
At the end of Get in the Water, the Odysseus we know and love is "on the brink of death" and he "draws his final breath". As you quickly discovered, the man who emerges from the water and returns home is no longer the one who set out from Troy.
First of all your Doofenshmirtz impression was great! Second, a lot of fans are with you on the Ares theory! I for one definitely believe it, because to me there’s no way Ody could’ve defeated Poseidon without SOME outside help. Whether it’s Ares or the souls of his 600 men giving him the boost, I’m here for it. Great reaction as always Mortius!
I'm of the opinion that Ody is capable of defeating Poseidon. Its not unheard of in Greek myth for the gods to be beaten by demigods. Which Ody is by technicality. But I think it's more likely that the stars aligned and Ody had help at the same time. Remember Tiresias's prophecy? "I see you on the brink of death, I see you take your final breath, I see a man who makes it home alive, But it's no longer you" I believe Ody's humanity died in the last song and all thats left is the demigod.
Fun fact that Jorge posted when Odysseus says “you didn’t stop when I begged you” the _No Longer You_ theme actually plays very faintly because that’s exactly what happened, Odysseus lost the man he was at the start of this when he didn’t stop, even when Poseidon was begging him to
THE WAY I WAS SCREAMING WHEN YOU PAUSE IT IN THE PART WHERE ODY SAYS "You're gonna call off that storm" and the way WHEN YOU SCREAM I WAS SCREAMING TOO!!!! YOU JUST GAVE ME BACK THE SAME FEELING WHEN I SAW IT LIVE!!!!!
People have speculated that the red is Ares helping out, but I prefer the idea that it's the Monster. Poseidon came prepared for the wrong person. He was expecting Odysseus. Odysseus died in the Underworld when he abandoned his humanity. All that's left is the Monster.
Agreed, and it’s probably what it is, since it’s like the whole point of odysseus’ character arc to become the monster, to be no longer himself when he comes back home. Like he truly drew his final breath and full on became the monster. And, idk, maybe monster odysseus is more than mortal. Guess we’ll have to wait for Jorge on this one
Steven Rodriguez’s raspy vocals when he was getting stabbed went ridiculously hard, like that first “STOOOP” is just insane, and that high “HAAAA” riff he did wow
For a bit of support on that Ares theory: fun fact, if I'm hearing things correctly, 600 Strike features a snare drum, which is one of Ares' instruments!
In case you haven’t noticed, at 12:36 if you listen closely to the background, you can hear Tiresias’ motif. Like he said, Odysseus never got home, but the monster did.
Right? Idk what it says about me that I'm not at all horrified or disturbed by this, I'm just like "Fuck yeah, get him Ody." Athena should be done recovering in the God Hospital any minute now, so the cot will be nice and warm for Uncle 'Seidon to take her place, he'll be fine.
during the point where Odysseus says, "YOU DIDN'T STOP WHEN I BEGGED YOU." it plays calypso's motif I'm pretty sure.....which I know you know the original story.....I think you know why Jorge did that....
"Super electronic [version of Odysseus's instrument, the guitar]" WAIT didn't Jorge say that the instrumentals, as a rule, are accoustic for the mortals but electric for the gods? Does Odysseus's backing instrument turning electric symbolize the power he's about to unlock!?

Re: Ares' involvement in this song - It's wild to me how many people want there to be some other god's involvement beyond Aeolus when there's absolutely no musical indication to support it (which we always get when other characters like Athena or Hermes are hinted at). So many folks in denial about Ody's loss of mortality and fully giving himself over to the monster, even after he summons his own backing vocals just like other gods and monsters...
Stupid curiosity, on a variety of versions of many myths, it's implied that although the gods are immortal and unable to die, they're not invulnerable, they can get hurt and feel plenty of pain as much as a human, Zeus has permanent scars from the Titanomachy and his fight aganist Typhon, and it includes dozens of gods. so Yeah, despite Poseidon being unable to be killed, he had his left eye and throat permanently damaged because of an annoying mortal :D
I had a similar reaction when I first watched Odysseus stabbing Poseidon...I just froze and was in shock. It is so powerful, with Jorge and Steven's vocals in that part. I still get shocked by it each time I listen it to be honest😅 Thanks for the amazing reaction as always❤
My theory on what happened in 600 Strike is sorta based on both the Ares theory and what was mentioned in you and Casper’s reaction to the livestream. Casper mentioned that Ares alone probably couldn’t have helped Odysseus alone simply due to power dynamics, and that makes enough sense. But my theory is that while Ares helped Odysseus beat Poseidon though sheer brutality, I also think that Hades had some sort of play in all of this, simply due to that he is arguably not only on par with Poseidon’s strength due to being the brother of both Zeus and Poseidon, but I’d argue that it is also the reason that Odysseus even had access to the 600 souls of his dead crew.
A potential component of the Hades thing is Hermes. Hermes is a guide for the souls of the dead! He has some authority in that domain. AND we know Ody has his FULL godly support.
Jorge posted a short showing that Tiresias' motif from "No Longer You" was playing in the tail end of "600 Strike". It starts around when Ody says "You didn't stop when I begged you" right when you paused to talk about Tiresias' prophecy
If it's true that Odysseus is in an Ares quick-thought, it's fun to think that his quick thought wouldn't have its own motif, it rather adjusts the motif of who he is "quick-thoughting" to make it angrier, with Athena, her motif was played by an ehru instead of a Piano, and with Odysseus, his own motif was adjusted and it sounded a lot grungier and angrier
Dude (gender neutral way) I’m pretty sure EVERYONE got good bumps when they heard this. I, however, got MORE goosebumps from Ody *nearly* singing *RUTHLESSNESS IS MERCY UPON OURSELVES!* I don’t know why, but I found that a tiny bit more bone chilling than Poseidon’s reprise of MONSTER!!
My current running theory is that, based on the name Six Hundred Strike, not strikeS, and the line “look what *we’ve* become”, Odysseus is sorta like, possessed by the crew, who are lending him his power, and were placed in the bag by Hermes.
I think the red is because of two things 1-color contrast for the cover 2-make us believe it was odisius..if it was gold we could have known since the start

I was waiting for this video and you did NOT disappoint 😂 the animators went completely NUTS. Jorge also went nits with this whole song and idea. Also he and Steven vocally. I'm just done and bowing in awe.
Props to Mortius for giving me more insight into these than I ever thought I'd get because I would never have known Ares had his own version of Quick-Thought. Sure he looked into it deeper than it was since I thought his eyes turning red was to symbolize Ody being full monster. But you always learn something new from Morti thats for sure
I think through this whole journey the biggest problem of Ody's is that he confuses being ruthless with being absolutely cruel. Because JEEZ, that was an actual torture right there. I know everything he went through got him here, but still. The man truly became the MONSTER😢
I was not expecting Mortius to have such a great Doofenshmirtz impression, but I have been blessed-- I have said this before and I will say it again: the last minute of this song is life-changing.

Time started to become normal again. Rain droplets hit the sea, lightning struck, and waves thundered against Ithaca.
“You Idiot.” Said the God of the Sea. About to get beat the ****** up.
KUDOS!
This is one hell of a fanfic /pos
I'm gonna start sobbing, i love this comment so much
Thank you all. I just started typing what I was thinking and then it kept on going and it became this! Thank you though, I fell better knowing someone like what I wrote. Have a great day! 👍
Bro cooked so much what
A detail I've noticed but no one else has commented, but remember that only gods can summon their own backup vocals, but odysessus summoned 600 back up vocals. So sick
Maybe this backs up the theory that the souls of the 600 men where with him and helped him take down Poseidon
@@devinwhite5064more like: the human part died, all that's left is the monster
You know its about to be a Very bad day when the hero doesnt want the villain to die yet
Fun fact that Jorge posted when Odysseus says “you didn’t stop when I begged you” the _No Longer You_ theme actually plays very faintly because that’s exactly what happened, Odysseus lost the man he was at the start of this when he didn’t stop, even when Poseidon was begging him to
4:11 I wasn't ready for the Doofenshmirtz impression to be so good like wth
He sounds so nervous when Gwendy showed up in the animatic credits 😭
For a bit of support on that Ares theory: fun fact, if I'm hearing things correctly, 600 Strike features a snare drum, which is one of Ares' instruments!
The snare drum is not one of Ares’s instruments, that’s just a thing people say for some reason.
13:10 Hermes also says in Dangerous that no MORTAL can pass Poseidon’s storm!
If i didn't subscribe earlier the nickel joke definitely would've gotten me!!😂😂😂
In case you haven’t noticed, at 12:36 if you listen closely to the background, you can hear Tiresias’ motif.
Like he said, Odysseus never got home, but the monster did.
12:57 funny you say that, because Tiresias’ melody is hidden underneath this part of the song.
“Not until I hit 50k!” *proceeds to hit 50k within an hour*
Mortius reaction after six hundred strike: that was hard to watch
My reaction after six hundred strike: that was so satisfying to watch
😂😂😂
Agreed. I was fixated on it.
during the point where Odysseus says, "YOU DIDN'T STOP WHEN I BEGGED YOU." it plays calypso's motif I'm pretty sure.....which I know you know the original story.....I think you know why Jorge did that....
It's Tiresias motif actually
"Super electronic [version of Odysseus's instrument, the guitar]"
WAIT didn't Jorge say that the instrumentals, as a rule, are accoustic for the mortals but electric for the gods? Does Odysseus's backing instrument turning electric symbolize the power he's about to unlock!?
Gives extra credence to the Ares theory
But isn't electric guitar also in remember them
@@crunchybanana252Yeah it shows up a lot throughout the musical, I think it just generally symbolizes Odysseus being cunning or ruthless.
My favourite part is when he screams "STOP" just those VOCALS!!!! That face you made is exactly how I reacted too.
16:25 it really was a lot right?? Now imagine how we felt after hearing the entire musical until that part in one go?? I was shooketh, AND HAD TO GO SLEEP!!! HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO SLEEP AFTER THAT? i feel you Mortius 😅
Mortius I want to see your reaction to 600 syrike so bad your reactions make me laugh because i know the torture Jorge is going to bring you 😂
For real
Literally 😂😂😂
Fun Fact: In the end of 600 strike when it shows how bad Poseidon got stabbed it’s show blood around Poseidon’s eyes… this whole ass King Of Ithaca has done this twice now
Thank God it's finally happening, ive been waiting for this. (Cries in non-Patron)
Edit: I've been waiting for this moment, for the perfect time to str-
Edit 2: 150 likes in 1 day? Noice guys.
Same here same here.
Real
Facts
Real
Heck yeah
Since I don't see it... Popular fan theory: Poseidon's screams go along with the song so well because they are music to Odysseus's ears.
Goddamn that makes so much sense
15:29 the silence speaks volumes
Mortius at the end: The man was too stunned to speak
I knew your reaction would be amazing lol totally worth the wait. This was my favorite saga 100%, the songs hit SO HARD and I've been listening to them on loop. "YOU DIDN'T STOP WHEN I BEGGED YOU!" This line is CRAZY and SO good. Aughhh, love it. Awesome reaction.
I didn’t think about Odysseus leaving scars on him. I knew gods could get fucked up but I didn’t realized it could be permanent.
@duckshuntjj6318 if you consider Typhon's myth, Zeus has to have ring like scars on his arms and legs because he was freaking dismembered lol
FINALLY SOMEONE TALKS ABOUT POSEIDON’S SCREAMING! Thank you! That’s my favorite part of Six Hundred Strike! 😭
Hades helping actually makes so much sense.
A potential component of the Hades thing is Hermes. Hermes is a guide for the souls of the dead! He has some authority in that domain. AND we know Ody has his FULL godly support.
Thanks to Orpheus, we do know that Hades appreciates a hero with an O name just trying to be reunited with the woman they love so yeah, I buy it
Jorge posted a short showing that Tiresias' motif from "No Longer You" was playing in the tail end of "600 Strike".
It starts around when Ody says "You didn't stop when I begged you" right when you paused to talk about Tiresias' prophecy
I can’t wait for your reaction‼️
If it's true that Odysseus is in an Ares quick-thought, it's fun to think that his quick thought wouldn't have its own motif, it rather adjusts the motif of who he is "quick-thoughting" to make it angrier, with Athena, her motif was played by an ehru instead of a Piano, and with Odysseus, his own motif was adjusted and it sounded a lot grungier and angrier
12:48 IM SO GLAD IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO GOT CHILLS FROM THIS!
@ nice nice!
His reaction is music to my eyes
Real
Yes
Odysseus is now one of the people that Poseidon WILL NOT mess with
Odysseus, my dude had a literal GOD begging him for mercy
Ahhhh THIS REACTION ON MY BIRTHDAY! I’m winning today!
Happy birthday!!!
@ ahhh thank youuuuu! 💖
Happy birthday!
@ thank you so much! 😇
My current running theory is that, based on the name Six Hundred Strike, not strikeS, and the line “look what *we’ve* become”, Odysseus is sorta like, possessed by the crew, who are lending him his power, and were placed in the bag by Hermes.
Oohhhhhhh I love this theory
The halls shall be painted red with the blood of those whom do not belong.
I love how before OARs reaction was half way through, you hit 50k. Im so happy for you. Glad i actually got to catch a premiere
My new headcannon that Poseidon's screams were so melodic because they were music to Odysseus' (and my-) ears :)
@8:30 Odisseus was "possessed" by the souls of his men, this is how he got the power to do the "600 strike" move
A man will do whatever it takes to get home to his family, even fight a god
I'm so happy you caught the flecks of gold in the blood -- a lot of people haven't and i thought i was delusional!
Literally Mortius during all the song: 😧
10:58 the reactor was too stunned to speak
I think the red is because of two things
1-color contrast for the cover
2-make us believe it was odisius..if it was gold we could have known since the start
I'm sorry but the Doof impression caught me off guard, i was CACKLING!
Bro this reaction was down right Hilarious. LIKE BRO. I LUAGHED MORE THAN I NEEDED TO AT THIS TIME OF DAY this was so worth the wait, also I like that you noticed that he stabbed his throat AND. *I will be buying those headphones mortius,*
In TikTok, some creators had fanmade snippets of how Are intervened in "600 strike"... I felt chills hearing Ares acknowledging Odysseus's monster.
“I’m HoLdInG iT hOsTaGe UnTiL 50k!”
50k before 1 hour of video release
I was not expecting Mortius to have such a great Doofenshmirtz impression, but I have been blessed--
I have said this before and I will say it again: the last minute of this song is life-changing.
4:30 killing me with the Dr. Doofenschmirts quote 😂😂😂
1:17 “I’ll watch the last saga when I get to 50k”
1 hour after the release the video: BOOM 50K
I've been SO excited waiting for this!!! Also, I saw someone at some point refer to Poseidon's screams as "scream harmonies," and I love that, lol.
THE SCREAM THAT CAME OUT OF MY MOUTH WHEN I SAW THIS
Odysseus died the monster remained 15:09
I did mention last week that Odysseus and Poseidon buried the hatchet in this song; ... only... I left out, the "where" Odysseus left it and after he was done using it on Poseidon.
Poseidon uses Divine Might
Odysseus uses Plot Armor
Poseidon: Well shoot.
EDIT* How did Odysseus make Poseidon look like the good guy? (In appearance only, what he says is villain dialogue for sure.)
Plot armor, nah it's the power of friendship
"I'll hold the last saga hostage until I hit 50K!"
Me, staring down the 50.2k sub count an hour after this vid comes out:
Epic: Does some fucked up shit
Mortius: Exit stage right, pursued by tears
YESSS YESSS ITS HERE I've been waiting for this moment, for the 600 strike!!!!!
2:43 I legit rewound and turned up my audio to hear the pupper. 🤣
Congrats on Officially Hitting 50k!!!!
I've seen a video where it's Ares using quick thought on Odysseus and going, "Show me what my sister saw in you" or something along those lines. I like the thiught of Ares helping him out
