    i thought of mapping a room like this after watching a LIDAR video, and then 30 minutes later find this haha, a brilliant idea, good job!

      Hi, thanks for the compliments.
      when I had built this robot, lidars were not available for the Arduino.
      I have an improved version of this robot, but never had time to make a video...

    Hey, great project!
    I have a question: Does the arrangement of ultrasonic sensors used in the video cover the whole side? I mean, how is it compared to a rotating ultrasonic sensor, or lidar? How much range do you get(in degrees)?

    Do you need a mega or will an uno be enough?

      hello, the Mega is necessary because it has more Ram and a greater number of inputs for sonar and motors

      @@erictravel6184 Mega is simple (many I/O) but future only with ESP (minimum , I will try also PLC ) - I test my delivery robot now (room and road ) - GPS, ultra sensors, compass , level sensors, road and grass detectors - I will put movie with problems, diagram and code

    Ottima idea per mappare con i sonar. Credi sia utilizzabile questo metodo anche in un ambiente esterno?

      Grazie! Io penso di si, ma tieni presente che questo tipo di sonar ha la portata di 3.5 metri, oltre la quale non riceve più l'eco. Se lo usi in un prato, devi gestire questa mancanza di dato.

    Ciao. ho visto il tuo progetto Sto facendo un progetto simile per la mia laurea in ingegneria. potete per favore aiutarmi con questo. sono così depresso perché sono nuovo alla robotica e alla mappatura. sarebbe un grande favore se mi aiutaste

      Grazie, ma per il momento non distribuisco il codice perché é in fase di miglioramento. Comunque non é niente di particolare, ci può arrivare qualsiasi tecnico elettronico.

    So many ultrasonics... Maybe lidar would be cheaper

      15 ultrasonic sensors=$17 vs 1 lidar= $80.
