  • Hey there! It's been a long while since my last video , but I'm back with a rather ambitious project marking a fresh start of sorts.
    I spent a lot of time and effort stepping up the quality of my videos and I hope it shows.

    Ouch! Losing a RPI4 in these times is a real bummer.
    Those cheap XL60** or LM25** buck convertors are a hit or miss. Especially when you are using them close to their max spec. There's a reason why they're so cheap. I would never risk costly SBCs or MCUs with those.

      Yeah! The new one seems to work better , but I'm open to any other suggestions, might be useful for future projects even!

      What about modifying them for safety? Adding decoupling capacitors?

    This is a really cool project, I've also built a vaccum cleaner using a total of 7 sensors including ultrasonic sensor and ir sensors, servo motor e.t.c and an arduino mega as the brain of the bot,i will develop something like in this video in the future.Nice work :)

      Glad you liked it!
      It took me more than a year and a half to get to this point as i was learning everything from scratch and was busy with other things .
      But you could build it yourself in less time!
      I don't know the final cost yet as I am still working on it

      It will not have enough processing power to do advanced functions like mapping.

    Maybe a silly question but you could have just replaced the SD card on the old RPi and insert in the new one, could have saved a ton of time to boot OS and install ROS right?

      That's true , But my SD card got corrupted when that happened (I didn't mention it in the video) So , I had to format and reinstall everything again :/

    I think the problem might be power surge , might be also the motor back emf! Have you taken care of those. Split the videos and elaborate on circuit, specially on ROS

    After a long search, i found a useful video about ROS. Its very Impressive work . As i am new to ROS . I am waiting for your next Video.Please share me the link of the motor your using for odometer .

      Thank you! The Nema 17 stepper motors I used were from Amazon , the exact ones aren't available anymore but you can search for them on Amazon or websites like robu.in . The ones I used were cheaper as they came with lesser power (Notice the reduced thickness).
