Excellent tips as always 👍 This makes me want to rearrange and update my cage 😁 The only "problem" that I see with modern flight cages is that the biggest dimension is usually the height and birds tend to fly horizontally so basically they don't get much flight room despite having a big cage. It's mostly hopping from perch to perch and climbing around what they do. I wonder when will the manufacturers start offering cages where the width is the biggest dimension, then height then depth. ...and you can always get a cage custom made (like we did) or make one yourself.
A lot of bird owners aren't aware of this fact. Birds fly side to side not up/down. Actually most bird owners dont really know anything about birds, sadly.

I have the same cage for my cockatiel! He absolutely loves it! He also goes crazy for Java wood perches, all of his perches are natural wood or platform, the stainless steal bowl help me so much ! I have the seaweed mat one stuffed with paper,planet pleasures,bird kabobs, and the piñata ones

Honestly I just find sticks out in the woods, boil them, and drill in the hardware myself. It’s waaay cheaper than buying perches at pet stores. Just make sure to bake or boil the sticks to kill any bugs that may be living in them.

can young conures eat fruits already? i got mine yesterday and unfortunately i can’t find anything on the internet, i’ve seen all your videos and your the one who taught me and guided me about having a conure. My red factor sun conure is about 13 weeks old and eats by himself already. Can i feed him veggies and fruits already? Thank you for everything!
What do you feed him :)? A bird's good diet most contain veggies! For the fruits part, they're more like treats because they're high in sugar so, I think veggies will not be a problem for your bird's age
Congratulations! Hand raised or group bred? Learn all you can about their health, behaviour and diet - this will help you with bonding and training (warning signs, illness symptoms etc) 24 hours with no hand contact too, let them settle in without as less stress as possible :) different toys (shred/foraging/soft&hard woods) - no cozy huts, no mirrors and any soft material check daily for threads, if your bird eats it remove it immediately! Change around/change out toys every now and then to keep it interesting, interact daily, take out any dowel perches and swap them for a variety of natural wood/calcium perches! No millet or treats left inside the cage, find a good avian vet and good luck!

I have these exact cages, well only one but everything in here was incredibly helpful for my search of perches. I made the mistake of not buying enough before putting my birds in(cuz I got them recently) and I’ve searched local pet shops but haven’t found anything good. Conveniently forgot to check the nearest petco 🤦 at least I’ve got a good idea for what to get when I go now
So I recently got two flightless pigeons (they can kinda flap around, but nothing much) and I got a tall cage. I was thinking to either flip the cage on its side, so that they can walk around more or to make a spiral of perches like stairs. The problem with the latter is, like, what if they fall and get hurt?

This ended up being one of the rare impulsive decisions that ive made because now I have a Green Cheeked Conure who brightens up my day. Your account has really helped me in answering most or my bird questions. Im looking forward to providing my bird with a long a healthy life :) ps: my birdie is a bit of a picky eater, how did you introduce new fruits and vegetables to your conures?
She actually has a video on it! But some tips you can do is: -Try different types of shapes in sizes (example: Chopped, shredded, Grinded,Etc!) -pretend like your eating the food too! Birds consider you a flock member so if you eat it they’ll most likely wanna try it to -mix it in with chop,Or with their diet! -you can also try and use it as treats for like a day I’d recommend watching the video though, it has more recommendations!

I wonder why bird cages are constructed the way they are in general. I’ve been looking for a wide flight cage, 40+ inches, but they only seem to make them with the bar spacing for big birds. The medium and small birds enjoy big cages too so why don’t bird cage manufacturers make them🥲

I wish they made this cage on a higher and turned lengthwise so it was all up high. Then my bird. An use it all. Instead of having some of it be practically on the floor where birds don't like to be
What's your opinion on making bird perches? I live near the ocean and gets lots of drift wood which is very smooth branches washed up to shore. And i made 2 perches from it but i wasn't too sure, I sanded them doen just to be safe but I still was a little iffy on them. Also how much seed should I give my bird? I have bought pellets as well which will be it's full time food and I also have rabbits so I have lots if veggies for it too. -Thanks! 🐦
Any tips on how to stop a bird from biting who has its wings clipped? The store I got my birb from clips the wings for safety reasons. He bites really hard whenever I get my fingers remotely near him. He is about 6 months old. He has been hand raised and hand fed by the store.
I was supper lucky my mum works at an animal shelter and they were donated a bunch of new cages so they were getting rid of their old ones and my mum picked one up for me so I was able to save around $100

I noticed, that you keep the paper in the cage under the crate. Doesn't this create a lot of cleaning /scrabbing of the crate? I am putting a double news paper on top of the crate. I change the paper every morning. Takes only 10 seconds and voila a clean cage. Tell me please, why you are putting it under the crate?
Because that's where the cage has the little table to put and remove them, also what if the bord goes to the bottom of the cage? It can get covered in poo or eat some leftover food that may be contaminated with poo and stuff
Oh i recently got the same cage for my ringnecks! I love how big it is for the price, I just hate that it doesn't have the doors that lift up, for food cups :(
@@oblea2652 guillotine doors are only dangerous for birds that know how to open them, but not many birds can. The prevue flight cage has spring doors on the side, and they open really easily. So you have to figure out how to keep them tied down, otherwise, once a bird figures out that they exist, they'll be able to get out.

Conures love digging. Remove the grate from the bottom and put wood chips in. Nice for their feet and easy to clean too.

Any recommendations for a nice corner cage? Been trying to find a nice big cage for my green cheek but everything I find ends up being too big like it was meant for a cockatoo.

I noticed, that you keep the paper in the cage under the crate. Doesn't this create a lot of cleaning /scrabbing of the crate?
I am putting a double news paper on top of the crate. I change the paper every morning. Takes only 10 seconds and voila a clean cage.
Tell me please, why you are putting it under the crate?
Because that's where the cage has the little table to put and remove them, also what if the bord goes to the bottom of the cage? It can get covered in poo or eat some leftover food that may be contaminated with poo and stuff

Oh i recently got the same cage for my ringnecks! I love how big it is for the price, I just hate that it doesn't have the doors that lift up, for food cups :(

@@oblea2652 guillotine doors are only dangerous for birds that know how to open them, but not many birds can. The prevue flight cage has spring doors on the side, and they open really easily. So you have to figure out how to keep them tied down, otherwise, once a bird figures out that they exist, they'll be able to get out.
