Wow Mischa, that's so cool. Who knew helis played such an important role in cherries. 😂 BTW, that's a great way for Cam to hone his hovering skills. Awesome stuff!👍
Been flying a few years now and haven't had the privilege to fly much around the Okanagan where I was born and raised. So amazing seeing my favourite lake Okanagan from the sky :). Thanks for taking us along!
Excellent camera quality and views from the cockpit. I need to go to the groceries and get some cherries. (I understand the stone of the cherry is dangerously toxic to humans)
Thanks. Andrew from Papua New Guinea. Reminds me of My 2006 trip to British Columbia Kelona. Had a dinner party on the lake and had a view of those massive and beautiful homes along the lake.
Semi arid desert.... Perfect for wine and BC fruits! Think of all the food you could air dry 🤣 we should have a satellite hanger in the OK just for this!!!! Nice job catching the sensei on that radio call Cam... Lol
I wish someone had footage of that super puma cherry drying! That’s nuts. I’ve only ever seen it done with 44’s before. Didn’t think it would be economical with all these turbines...
Nice video! How well does your digital attitude indicator in the R66 panel adjust to ambient light condition? In the video it appeared glaringly bright just after sunset, and rather dim under daylight conditions.
Interesting. South Africa use to use Super Puma in the air force and later on they used the same helicopter with an upgrade engine. Think it was dubbed an Oryx. I took a flip in one whilst being in the army with the doors removed and no chairs. You just sit flat on your backside with your legs hanging out of the door. Boot laces thrashed the heck out of my legs. Great fun. R4 rounds in the ears for the noise and all that.
Wow! I thought it would cost a bit to hire the choppers, but I didn't realize it would be that much! No wonder they have to charge that much for the cherries.
I farm Almonds in California and we had so much rain this year, i was wondering how the fruit farmers made out this year with all the late rain. You ever fly over crops to prevent freeze?
there is a reason to make a special cheap, slow flying helicopter for cherries drying, and field spraying. I wander why no one helicopter producer does not think about it
Why were there so many vibrations in flight? Even your voice is shaking in the video. I once flew with a BO105 with a new but unbalanced rotorhead. On the ground it was like sitting on a hurling washing mashine, but as soon we got in the air everything was fine. So I'm wondering what causes these vibrations in flight.
What does a client pay for this service? I'm sure there's a lot that goes into an estimate. Acreage, hazards, etc. I just want a general idea. Helicopters aren't super cheap to operate, but at the same time if it was too expensive I suppose the orchards would just hire people to walk the rows with leaf blowers....
Leaf blowers are neither efficient or fast enough to cover what a heli does. As of the costs i am curious as well. I expect somewhere about 700-1000$ per flight hour plous a few tens of $/ hr of on-call standby...
It's a different problem... with frost, they need to get the air moving so it can't freeze (laterally is OK) but for rain, they need to blow the water off... would be hard with fixed fans
He's my cherry dry! Put a smile on your face $2 million dollars wide. Fruit so good puts a chopper in the sky! Sweet CHERRY DRY!
Oh Yeah!
... oh, well done

FlyingMAir is another great channel to watch for Heli cherry drying.

Cherry Drying...another income stream for your business...great way for one of your commercial students to build time and earn a check. I LIKED IT.
Love the shot when you opened the door and showed the R66 in action!!
I just love your videos Mischa. What an experience Cam it looks quite intense. Super concentration needed there
We hear them up were I live all season long...and I am not even a cherry fan. Thanks for the video...very cool!
Thanks. Andrew from Papua New Guinea. Reminds me of My 2006 trip to British Columbia Kelona. Had a dinner party on the lake and had a view of those massive and beautiful homes along the lake.
I have respect for you and your Team as your videos are always appreciated and enjoyed
I imagine this was a great learning experience for Cam and your future students to see the video.
That's a really interesting skill-drill; the slow easy hover in a line
Another great video. I've been binge watching like mad.
My aim to do this one day:). Might have to fly over from Nz for a season.
Looks very dangerous with all the power lines, tall trees and hovering so low , No room for error. nice job!

Tim Parter you can adjust the brightness up and down. I don’t notice any issues.
Great Cherry drying music!
Ps. I love that out the door shot Mischa 🙌
Mischa, great video, and yes lightning and Helicopters are not a good mix
There are actually several videos on this here on YT.
Yep. ruclips.net/user/flyingmair has some!
@@mlctrez She produces good videos and articles. She also survived flying into the ground. Good stuff.
Love GEAK, followed her around the world every hobb meter click, Wicked, great video
amazing work

Andrew Scott we haven’t but I know companies that do.
That's fascinating, yes I will not complain about the high prices of cherries again. And here in Oz believe me when I say they are expensive :)
Wow amazing
Interesting process, great video
super interesting story, thanks for the video :)
So cool, hey Cam, where abouts from Australia are you ftom? I'm from Qld
Amazing video! Great show of the okanogan
great for practice
That’s Great 😃 to Save the Cherries 🍒 and HELP the FARMERS 🚁😎🚁
Cool
Super cool man thanks for sharing!!
Great video!
Wow I was wondering what cherry drying was.
Mischa, is there room for a satellite BCHelicopters outlet? Up in the Okanagan...Heyyyyy.....good idea?🚁🚁🚁🤗
Rick Jones ya could be fun. We have better plans cooking though. Stay tuned.

Wow. That was awesome. Thanks.
Great Video. It was very interesting & some great shots. (I wish you would drop the word crazy from your slang vocabulary.)
what wimd speed... mph, do you need to dry the cherries?
Loving cherrys even more now.
*HAARP enters the room*
" why is everyone looking at me so funny?"
Thank you Mischa🙂❗️
Cam, when you getting a real Mischa. MAnly man helmet?🤘🤘🤘🤷🏻♂️🛸🛸🛸
Hi! I'm new here. Might be a weird question but how can you afford so many helicopters? I see a R66, some Cabri's. Those are very costly... :)
Amazing Content :) Thanks for sharing :)
It is so cool I so want to learn to fly a helicopter someday
My question is, how much do you make per hour doing this?
That would rock🍁💕💕💕
19 dollars a kg in perth western australia
I'm surprised the wash from the rotors don't blow the cherries off the tree
Wow ...I had no idea cherry drying was a thing...Now I wonder how they aren't twice the price
I never know this was a thing! Only in the US though!, in the UK here we'd probably employ someone on minimum wage to shake each tree.
This is in Canada.

I am wondering the same thing. Hopefully they can chime in and let us know. Hard to believe a helicopter vibrates that much, especially a r66 turbine.
Who’d have thought this happened!
The best fruit in the world is grown in BC !
You don't see a CJ1 with winglets very often

2M to dry cherries? Those must be some expensive cherries when they get to the markets...
they are exported to Asian markets
They must sell a lot of cherries.
@yingmair
Rush to wait . Wait to rush
IF the cherries aint in the Flathead Valley..... They aint cherries!!!!
two unshaven clowns are playing
2.99 a pound is a bargain...I sell mine for 8 euro a kilo
No wonders cherries are so expensive
So back in the days before heli's,,,we had to deal low crop output or hire slaves to blow off the water?? Learn something everyday
"Hire slaves"
😁😊😋🍒🍒💖☝️👌
Never walk under the disc which is at slow speeds, my friend. (7:17)
You would think they would use large fans like they do to protect the grapes from frost in California.
