    What's great about these spiritual sexual practices is that you can actually full on directly experience them and feel them working, just as the sages have described throughout history. It's really kind of in your face evidence of a metaphysical/mystical aspect of the human self. It is what converted me from an atheist to a more spiritual person

    Used to do alot of this during training Aikido.The Japanese call it the Hara.One very interesting effect which happened only once to me was being able to see people's intentions just a split second before it happened.But that split second seemed really long.I saw something like a clear tube of light come out of the Sensei head towards a student ,who was intended to do a wooden se ok Rd exercise next , then the same tube come out of the tip of the sword to my belly.It was a sword avoidance exercise ,so I just moved around the tube.Split second later the teacher thrusted forward and missed me.

    its crazy ... i did it for second time while john was explaining in the video ....and I have never expereinced this before....lice scales while exaling are rubbing at a point and I can actually sense heat there.... and mind got into a deep state for 5-6 minutes straight without even realizing that video has finished and I was still enjoying observing my body inhale and exhale and feeling that heat point .....awesome awesome...... I wish I could get his full course ...damn you are a legend man

    This is the best explanation on developing dantian on YT. Thank you comrade :) Integrating “Sinking the chi” into my being made me feel the liquid mind analogy you use very accurately. Pretty much literally feels how “mind essence” shifts from head to belly giving whole new perceiving experience on its own. Sadly it’s amazing that 99% of people live in their heads like bio robots without knowing it can be otherwise. Will practice your approach for some time and report back
    Edit: So I’ve been practicing for the past week and it’s interesting how the sensations in the belly change and wrap around if you let them. Today I let my awareness shift naturally from middle of belly to the upper back of pelvis buzzing there for a bit. After doing that it shifted back to around the middle of belly pulsating there a bit then moving to front of belly producing more acute sensations.
    I think it does it if you check on your belly muscles tension regularly and consciously relax it easing the density for energy movement within the pelvis area

    Great video man. I would like to see more of these “nonsexy” videos on about how to evolve your spirituality and level up as an individual over the sexual attraction or sex related stuff. That’s just my opinion though. As you already have PLENTY of those. Overall, keep the great content coming.       To add to this video, one way to evolve the sexuality is to address your own emotions. Feelings of unworthiness, lack, despondency, boredom, sadness, depression that aren't acknowledged or addressed tend to cause the self to try to find outside means to distract oneself from these feelings and one of those means is pleasure. The sacral chakra is like the seat of emotions. And if your emotions are not uplifted, you'll resort to seeking pleasure to cover up those feelings. Those negative feelings can be dissolved by focusing on them with love until you cry out the pain and then they dissolve.

    The gentle sitting awareness meditation helping relax the kind and drop the breath lower probably has a lot to do with why I was in such a great condition back when I was sitting zazen daily for 15 minutes for about a month before my son was born. I need to work on my consistency again now that my son and daughter are a bit older.

    I felt a sharp pain that released when I was locating with the index finger technique. Then I placed my hands with the left palm on top and thumbs as you suggested and felt the energy running in a circle with the thumbs as the top of the circle

    Thank you so much for your videos! I feel it makes Thaoist practise to be much more easily accessible, because of your personal experience with it.
    Is there a reason that you have missed out the "MINGMEN" here? So we just move the awareness up and down, instead of in a "circle" and it never touches the back (mingmen) at all here? Thank you if you can answer!

      Thanks, I disregarded ming men here because the connection between qihai and hui yin is most important initially. People tend to struggle to feel the mingmen area until their practice deepends.
      There are other techniques that work with all 3 centers, and those are great as well. But this technique is a very solid point for beginning.

    Thanks for the great video Jonathan! One question - what are your thoughts on belts and belt buckles? I realized as I was finding my qi high point that it’s right behind my big belt buckle - do you think that would interfere with anything?

      If the belt is tight it can interfere with circulation, but if it's a comfortable fit then nothing to worry about.

    Great video. Thank you! I would love to know how this practice compares to a previous video that you did on filling the Dan Tien. In that video, you emphasized contracting the perineum 3 times and then exhaling into the qihai point. Does the technique in this video serve the same purpose?

      I watched that video aswell and I'm also curious why they are seperated, is it possible to combine these techniques and work with both of them? In general there are multiple ways to fill the Dan Tien, I wonder if is alright to use different methods in ones routine

      I practice a mixture of various systems/lineages. I've studied with many teachers and I basically take the most effective techniques and concepts I've learned from all these systems and combine them to create my own.

      You can do as many as you want. 36 breaths makes for a good quick session.

    Hi I’m wondering if this goes with my satiphattana practice because it’s also energy base. Should I stop doing them and only this practice or so my practice and do thsi after so it doesn’t conflict the energy does that make sense?

      I’m not sure exactly what is involved in your practice. This practice is to develop the dantian, different than most mindfulness practices. If you want to build the dantian, do this practice.

      This is an energetic technique to build reservoir of chi. It will enhance your physical vitality, but only lifting weights will build muscle.

    One question. In case we want to visualise the lower dantian area how large is it? I had heard once that it is small as a dot. For the most part though I have been reading that it is the size of a ball of tennis. Could u pls elaborate on how large is it.

      For most people there’s nothing there until you build the energy field through daily practice. visualizing it won’t really get you anywhere. Once it starts to build, you’ll feel it quite tangibly and you’ll feel for yourself how large the field becomes.

    Curious about your opinion, I do the active breathing one the opposite as you describe. Do you see any problems with that? As in am I at risk for stagnation or like potentially inhibiting progress.
    So, I breath in and expand the perineum then exhale as I draw it up. (Gently)This send energy up to the Dan tien. What do you think?

      It's fine, the process becomes intuitive, formal practices are just training tools to get you there.

    Thanks so much for this video. I am a bit unclear on one thing though. How does the yang energy get filled within the yin container? Is this something that happens naturally or does it need to be guided?

      It is guided by holding awareness in the Dantian, bringing awareness up from the hui yin point and in from Qihai helps to 'harvest' the yang energy

    Is it normal for the first time to feel buzzing in dantien for extented period of time? I felt my legs and chest vibrating like an echo from dantien. I woke up at night to this. I have active kundalini and this seemed to arouse it big time, maybe? Or could it be just excess chi since my heart and head burned hard. I did some reverse dantian breathing and that seemed to help quite a bit.

      It is normal if you are energetically developed. Don't use too much force in the practice, relax the mind or else the chi might be drawn up into the head.

      Use this one, it's an update. Too much squeezing of the perineum creates tension and potentially stagnates energy.

    jon wight? ur name hell no u look just like guile with a more realistic hair cut.
    i have gotten my other Dantians to work (mid and forhead) i never had much luck with my lower Dantian after 15 years i now finely able to "feel" or see it down there but its so unresponsive and so mall its small like a pebble (in my case its hard to find mostly because im 300lb
    hell i know i have blocked enegery and so is my heart to point it hurts..

      You can keep the tongue on the roof of the mouth, I don't recommend squeezing the perineum.

    Fantastic video! So clearly explained. Seems really similar to the yogic practice of merging apana vayu (downward moving energy) & prana vayu (upward moving energy, sorta) at the navel, which allows the energy to enter the sushumna (central channel) and start really “powering up” the pranic system

      Maha bhandha accomplishes this (done cautiously),
      I have understood working with Nadi Shodhana, Breath of Fire, Breath of Nectar (Sattwa Yoga on RUclips) and various Mantras work for this as well.
      David Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri) has various books talking about yogic processes like this. Sattwa Connect online is also a great library for Yog-Vedantic, Tantric, and Kriya Teachings

    In a different video you say to also squeeze the pelvic floor three times when doing this, basically doing kegels. This is the video I mean:

    It's okay to learn and change your teachings, but I think it would be useful to address the difference and change the title of the old video to reflect that there's a newer video on the same topic. I spent about a month kegeling because of that video and then I see your video about kegels being bullshit and this updated dantian method without kegels.
