    I was behind this car today in the traffic lights and it really does stand out and look much better in real life. The rear LED lights are nicely designed and the side of the car looks sporty and not boring.

      the gt 86 it's actually a Subaru, and it's ugly (the front is horrible) and has bad brakes

    • @Toyota4Life
      @Toyota4Life 7 лет назад

      DRAKO9764 wrong. It has Subaru parts but the FRS/GT86/BRZ was created based on the corolla AE86 history. That car has Subaru parts but it was created for the Toyota brand. If I owned one I would rip out the Subaru engine and put in a 2JZ or a Toyota 2GR

    • @DRAKO9764
      @DRAKO9764 7 лет назад

      Toyota4Life - wrong :)) Sorry, but the Toyota GT86 can't be based on an AE 86 history because that's just not how the car industry works. It's supposed to reminisce the AE 86 yes, but this is a totally new and different car, it's like the Fiat 500 of Toyota with the exception that it's actually a Subaru, so it's actually the Fiat 124 of Toyota because just like the Fiat 124 being manufactured in Japan by Mazda so is the Toyota GT86 manufactured by SUBARU! I know Toyota owns part of Subaru. Quote from wiki "The 86 is a series of sports cars jointly developed by Toyota and Subaru and solely manufactured by Subaru." Plus the Subaru is rarer as just 1 Subaru is being built for every 8 GT86!

      80386 - I agree, I've got the Honda hrv and it seems like the name of this Toyota car is the same but instead c-hr Toyota. Nissan in the front and Honda the back. I think the Honda hrv came out first before this car. I love my hrv but my sisters Toyota Yaris has had faulty problems from one after another.

    there is actually a number of us who like clocks of 80s japanese cars. in 00s they could've been old fashioned but now they are rather traditional. similar thing merc had with their analogue clocks that were featured even in W211. after all, what's wrong with clear, precise and easily visible clock in the cockpit?

    • @GreatOne0815
      @GreatOne0815 7 лет назад

      But: the Mercedes analog clock looks classy - the Toyota clock looks just cheap. But what is really strange is, that they introduced that cheap digital clock in the 2012 Auris Model, while the privious versions didn't had it. IMO all the Toyota cockpits since 2012 are looking much "cheaper" than before.

    • @nnyjoh
      @nnyjoh 7 лет назад +3

      +Michael Kehm clock in Maserati or Bentley is classy. the one in Merc is as classy as a road kill. only 2006 - 2012 auris did not have this classic clock. and that is actually one of the cheapest looking toyota interiours ever! corollas before did have clock like this, as well as the most of toyotas in 80s, 90s, 00s...

  • @jamesdearie5665
    @jamesdearie5665 5 лет назад +2

    I have had 3 Toyota Rav automatics with a 2 litre petrol engine and torque converter automatic. Non turbo engine had decent performance and the gearbox was as smooth as silk. However am ready to buy my next new car. For me the looks of the CHR hybrid are really amazing and it's interior looks so modern and hi tech. At the moment I have a 2 litre turbo diesel with the DSG automatic box. It's a solid reliable comfortable and safe car. Being a retired ex VW mechanic I can honestly say I will miss it. However I have only had two issues with it. After 2 years from new the windscreen needed replaced under warranty due to it delaminating. My other negative experience was with the DSG 7 speed dry clutches autobox. It was reliable and super smooth 90% of the time but could be jerky in town traffic. I decided that it was time to go back to a petrol automatic and really loved the look of the CHR. However for me there are several negative points about the Toyota that have delayed my decision to order a Dynamic CHR Hybrid. The 1.2 turbo engine doesn't interest me. It's just to small. However you then have the hybrid 1.8 non turbo, with the love it or hate it CVT automatic. Most big motorcycles have more bhp than the 1.8 engine. Its performance is basically the same as the 1.2 turbo. 0 to 62 mph in 11 seconds is pretty slow . Top speed is also very low. However I don't drive fast and have my grandkids in the back so performance is not the most important factor. However refinement is very important to me and many road tests have pointed out that the engine revs highly when pushed as the CVT gearbox catches up. I have yet to have a road test to really see if I could live with a CHR hybrid long term. The other car that I am interested in is a BMW 2 litre twin turbo Active Tourer with a super smooth 8 speed traditional Automatic gearbox. On paper the BMW beats the Toyota on every point except for looks and economy. It's pure luxury on the inside but is a bit boring to look at. However the BMW will have no problems with driving up and down highland glens fully loaded or overtaking on fast motorways. It also has a better sat nav and a CD player. I don't fancy sitting on a motorway in the Toyota starship enterprise with huge lorries two feet from my rear end intimidating the life out of me. Anyone got the hybrid CHR who can offer some reliable advice.

    • @theRealAV8r
      @theRealAV8r 7 лет назад +4

      I meant just the appearance. They both have a similar high lined body style, but the Juke just looks cutesy and weird, like a cartoon, while the C-HR looks techy and cool, like a scifi vehicle. Even six years ago Nissan could have done far better.

    • @shambu2012
      @shambu2012 7 лет назад

      Juke is in it's own class - look at Nismo version, that's it. This CH-R is not better or worse - it isn't contender and targeted at different audience. However I agree that Juke should have had Qashqai like dashboard and conveniences. In any case Juke is very enjoyable car to ride.

      Making windows smaller, obstructing visibility, adding more and more multimedia features is a great reason to then upsell you on safety equipment, like blind-spot monitoring, dynamic cruse-control, 360 cameras, parking sensors, auto-parking.

    Stop telling about electric range on a hybrid vehicle. That just tells how little you understand the system and idea behind it. You don't compare them with electric cars in range, but how often you are driving in electric mode. In C-HR you are 50% or even more in electric mode in city type of driving if you have basic skills how to drive a hybrid. And yes, that's exactly 1,5 miles if you drive 3 miles. But drive 10 miles and that's 5 miles. Are you getting it?

    £28k for a top of the range Dynamic model, and then £1600 for leather and a decent stereo. The range topping Prius is a lot cheaper than this, comes with head up display, and rear anti-collision sonar. It's also far more efficient as a hybrid, although it's looks are arguably more divisive. Also can't believe you have to fork out for the Dynamic to get LED headlights and rear lights. These come as standard on even the entry level Prius.

    Bold styling, it looks like it was designed by Honda, and it's actually way better looking than the Honda HR-V.

    I mistakenly thought it was a new Honda because of the civic style rear taillights and the interior screen.

    Thanks, but no thanks. Did I hear correctly, the hybrid struggles to do much more than a mile in EV? I've watched another review of this car, a hybrid, and quite frankly the road/engine noise was drowning out the commentary

    I'm surprised Toyota hasn't been sued by Nissan for this car design. It is basically a direct copy of the Nissan Juke. They just changed the headlights and tail lights
