Great video! And obviously, one could start the process with writing an out of the money put . If assigned, the completion of the wheel strategy with the writing of the covered call would be accomplished. The double the dividend now becomes triple your dividend. Money machine, cha-ching!
Treasury yields and other safe cash-like investments are raising high returns, yet most investors believe this is a good time to buy stocks than gold despite crash. I'd love to spread across $400k into profit yielding dividend equities and end the year well, but unsure of which to get acquire.
Due to my demanding job, I lack the time to thoroughly assess my investments and analyze individual stocks. Consequently, for the past seven years, I have enlisted the services of a fiduciary who actively manages my portfolio to adapt to the current market conditions. This strategy has allowed me to navigate the financial landscape successfully, making informed decisions on when to buy and sell. Perhaps you should consider a similar approach.

Watching your videos, I sold my first ever cash secured Put on NVDA ($135 strike) on Monday. I collected $380 in premium. For me, make $380 on a trade is fantastic. That's 2.8% in 4 days! If I can do that every 4 days for a year, then that's an extra $34K+ per year. That's pretty cool! Thank you for sharing. You have opened my eyes to the possibilities!
I love the idea of reliable dividend income, but sometimes it feels like I’m leaving money on the table. I’ve heard there are strategies to boost dividends without just waiting for the payouts
Yeah, there’s actually this simple options strategy I’ve been looking into. It’s called writing covered calls. It’s a way to squeeze more income out of the stocks you already own, and you still get to keep the dividends. It’s not for everyone, but when done right, it can double your returns
I’ve heard of that! So basically, you sell the right for someone else to buy your stock at a higher price, and they pay you for it. If the stock doesn’t hit that price, you just keep the cash, right?
Exactly. Plus, even if the stock gets called away, you’re selling at a higher price, so you still make a profit. It’s like getting paid twice-once from the dividend and once from the option premium
It can be tricky, which is why having someone guide you through it can make a big difference. I’ve been working with an advisor, Joseph Nick Cahill, and he introduced me to this strategy a few years ago. It’s helped me increase my income without taking on too much extra risk.
I am 18 months into 1.6% average some down weeks and many up but average 1.5% .. I think 2% is hard but very doable.. I hope to be at 450k mid next year and will be doing it full time then
I sincerely hope for your sake you're miscalculating. "1-2% per WEEK" is 104% per year. If that is your honest expectation of your returns, you need a reality check.
@nbkw48 He will find his real return once NVDA tanks and he is sitting on shares at a 50% or more loss. Then he can subtract the loss from all the premium and see. If you started selling puts early in the cycle you would do well, but if you started near the top you'll be in for a huge loss or dead money while you hold the bag.
Market is down still, I've been looking up strategies and apparently both bull and bear market condition provides equal avenue to accrue massive gains, and a news article particularly mentioned a 54 year old that made $180k in 5weeks, how do I learn these strategies, my portfolio has been stagnant for months.

Thanks for your video. 0.4 delta has a higher chance for the CC to end up IT and the shares will be called away, especially if it's a quarterly call. Do you manage roll it then, or let it be called, buy again at the new higher price and then sell another CC?
Yeah, I was thinking same thing. He keeps saying he's a conservative investor yet he's promoting 40 delta. The idea of covered call, as presented by other youtubers, is to sell the call at 14 delta or thereabouts so the chance is low that the security will actually be called away.

I am still learning so might be wrong here, but selling CCs on NVDA that are a few dollars OTM means you are going to lose all your shares, right? In the video you are selling $120 Calls with Jan 2025 expiration date, but today (10/28/24) NVDA sits at $143. Since NVDA such a good, growing stock, wouldn't selling CSPs be a better option?
