what an amazing man ,,, so amazing as the character Brian Lane , love this character to bits ... great to watch... then we jump to Hollywood and he's in the massive movie The Mommy wow , says alot , when someone goes from British drama to Hollywood , its some achievement, well done Alun!
He gave a fine portrayal of Keith in the film. The character was ill-fated, to be beaten up by Thorpie and his cronies, but Aluns final scene was the clue to the relationship between Jack and Doreen, who may well have been Jack's daughter, rather than his niece. A gutsy display of northern grittiness.
A fine actor, and his contribution to the film is excellent. I especially liked his final scene where he shouted the indication that perhaps Jack was Doreen's father, rather than her uncle.
Keith was one of only three characters which were likeable in the film, along with Doreen and the landlady of the Las Vegas. Alun is a fine actor whose role may have been small, but significant nonetheless.
There’s a look Carter gives Keith, intimating “how much can I get out of this bloke?”. That’s why Michael Caine’s performance was so good. He knows a villains mentality. Totally ruthless, clever and seldom very humourous.
Agreed! He was wonderful in New Tricks. What a loss to that show when he left. Seems it was a rift with Julian Simpson, the writer/director. I'd have gone with a new writer/director.
I absolutely love this guy Alun Armstrong, a man who has never forgotten his roots, unlike one particular person, who I will not mention, but you can make an educated guess. I think he is supremely talented. Rock On Alun.
Well l sent a letter once asking him if he had ever worked with an actor l was writing a bio about, and subsequently wrote another 4 times to him, each time l never got a reply🤦
@@IanP1963Sorry that happened. Perhaps you sent your letters somewhere where he never even heard about them. He's a busy, wonderful person with a family. And you never know what's going on in someone's life. So keep that in mind instead of posting things like this.
A wonderful actor..
Master of the house ❤🎉
Master of the house great song great singing

Just starting to get to know (and love) Alun Armstrong! Hadn't heard of him during my life in Canada ....
Have you watched him in New Tricks? He is adorable!
Love this guy. I find him inspiring. Not sure why but there's just something about him.
The thing about him is that he's beautiful and sexy and a version of perfection.
Has anyone seen him in the TV series New Tricks? It very entertaining.

Loved him in KRULL.
That was an underrated performance.
He is right most people hate their own town but to be fair often with good reason.

See him on stage in Les Mis

@James Unsworth The brilliant Alun Armstrong would definitely not appreciate having his name dragged into a slur on some unnamed person.

He was born in the Plain. South View Gardens or thereabouts.
Great character actor. Just realised he could be Neil Diamond’s twin brother.
