    Great job on getting the land cleared out. That is so nice they gave lawn mowers they are not using. wow I see why your back is sore you got a lot done. The sweet potato actually looks good. Wow the chili’s are doing good and the zucchini to. I love the sunflowers they look great. When you’re working if you have some rubber boots that would be good in case the snake is around. The growth is amazing it all looks great the daisies look good as well. I can’t believe how big after one week. Great garlic harvest that is beautiful. I am excited for you your hard work is paying off ❤

      Thanks so much Angel. I do have rubber boots but because of arthritis in both my ankles, they make my feet swell with heat and humidity. The snakes here are only garter snakes and harmless. They are actually good for the ecosystem because they eat harmful pests that try to eat the garden, lol. I will say however, that I certainly have way to many of them. It's like snake haven here 😆

    Hi Krista, my goldenrod looks quite different--I will try to show it before it finishes blooming. I love your naturalized hostas. They will continue to get more showy each year. This video gave a good overview of lust how much you've accomplished. I admire your vision and efforts!

      @AlmostaGreenAcre-zs5eu  Месяц назад +1

      Yes, I would love to see your goldenrod. I did some research awhile back and there are over 100 different varieties of goldenrod. I think mine is Canada goldenrod. This is what google says about it: Historically, goldenrod (Solidago canadensis or Solidago virgaurea) has been used on the skin to heal wounds. It has also been used as a diuretic, meaning it helps the body get rid of excess fluid. The name solidago means "to make whole." I do plan on harvesting it this year because I want to make some lotions and perhaps soap and shampoo. My daughter suffers from psoriasis, as do I, and this would be helpful. Thank you for your kind comments and I agree about the hostas 🥰

    Great video Krista, well done with the grass mowing and your garlic is fantastic. As for the large work horses, my first thought was to grow plants up them, like Clematis montana or a climbing rose, or you could add shelves and make a flower ladder, placing pots or trays of flowers at the different levels. Or as they are so tall you could do a combination of both, pots and trays closer to the ground for easier watering and deadheading and clematis or rose growing higher. My only worry would be the wind that whips around your site. I'm looking forward to seeing the goldenrod in bloom.

    • @AlmostaGreenAcre-zs5eu
      @AlmostaGreenAcre-zs5eu  Месяц назад +2

      Thanks so much for stopping by. Those are all excellent suggestions for sure 🥰 I will be doing a lot of vertical planting but I don't know where I will be placing them yet. I do have a Morning Glory plant that I can take some cuttings from in order to bring more diversity to different parts of the garden. The wind for sure is an issue and I do get hurricanes that come up the eastern seaboard of North America. I most likely will place 2 x 4's at the bottom and perhaps anchor the legs down into the ground with some bent iron.

    Hi Krista! You have really been doing a lot of work and your property looks so good. How hot does it get where you live? That is so interesting you have that one different pepper. A garden surprise! Whoa, who would want to be weeding and come across a snake! I'm not afraid of them but I wouldn't like being surprised like that. your garden is really growing. Hi Barby. The weather here for spring and summer has been like a roller coaster. For about 4 weeks the day time highs have been ranging from mid 80's to low 100's with major humidity. The night time temps however, were so low that I couldn't get my garden planted until end of June because it wouldn't be above 50. It seems to be cooling down again. I don't mind that I have the snakes but being startled by a 2 ft one caught me off guard, lol. Now that I know its there, I'll be on the lookout. Thanks for your kinds remarks 🥰
