I’d like to think that when Gordon first saw Lamar he had a mini ptsd moment and started frantically searching for the nearest crowbar so he could bash her cranium in
oh wow !! the choreography! i swear I play through this sequence at least twice a year and each time i try to do it in a way that 1) looks interesting and 2) doesnt make the npc's shove me around XD. This video is like my dream ! You've done an excellent job
Thanks for noticing the efforts in choreographing this dialogue-heavy chapter! Was definitely challenging to keep the video engaging while showing as much of the dialogue, character reactions, and environmental storytelling as I could.
I love your descriptions man, they're so informative! Also, will you be hunting for Lambda Caches during this playthrough? I've found it's one of the harder achievements for HL 2.
Thanks! I will definitely try to get every single lambda cache in the game. The main thing I foresee problems with are the ones in Water Hazard, because it kind of kills the mood and atmosphere to stop for caches in the middle of the chopper chases. But I will do them for completion's sake.
I think you just have the best Walk-through video style on RUclips. You play a bit like me. Even if I know this game like my house it's a pleasure to watch your video and read the description. I know you didn't have to much time in future video but I would love to see more games with your play style, like Maybe Metro Series if you like theses games.
Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you find these videos enjoyable :) My goal right now (and for the immediate future) is to finish the HL2 series. But I do have the Metro games and haven't played through them yet, so that's definitely not off the table!
Alyx takes gordon to a lab, and he would reunite with kleiner, gordon last saw him when the black mesa incident first began, gordon would meet lamarr, freeman puts his hev suit back on and enters the teleporter room, alyx is safely teleported to black mesa east, while it wasnt so fortunate for freeman, the teleporter breaks due to lamarr and he would teleport to various locations, including breen's office, he would remeet the ichthyosaurus, and teleports back to city 17, barney gives him the crowbar and the combine now see freeman as a threat to them.
Fun fact: The “cat” referred to by Barney was a stray cat that Barney and Kleiner experimented with on the teleport. One experiment went badly, and the cat came back inside out, so that Barney “had to turn it back right side in again.” Fucked up shit.
Eli was on the screen along with another familiar face Felicia Yu:"My God! Is that you, Dr.Freeman?" Freeman nodded Alyx:"Hey there, Aunt Felicia." Felicia still looked young despite the 20 year time gap Felicia:"Hey Honey, take a look at this." Johnathan Riley:"What is it this-, Gordon Freeman?!" The man also looked young despite said 20 years, He had an aura around him which pretty much said he was a soldier. Alyx:"Hello to you too Uncle John." Dr. Kleiner:"I'm sorry but we must proceed, greeting formalities can be done later." Barney:"Hey Felicia how's the kid?" Felicia:"Hannah's doing all right." And with that they continued on like normal well as normal as you can be in City 17 The highlight was Gordon Freeman escaping Combine after being teleported outside. Done I still haven't gotten a reply from you if I should keep doing this and stuff like that I'll stop if you want me to but I think of this as world building.
The Mark V seems to be a downgraded version of the Mark IV. Sprint is now limited, and the flashlight is sharing the power with Sprint and Oxygen. (The batteries better not be powered by blood.) Then again, this is after the Black Mesa Incident.
I think those are two different timelines - the HL:A timeline doesn't connect with the events of HL2, since G-man pulled her out into stasis. I think HL2 is the "true timeline" where Alyx never heard about a Vault.
@@Sexy_Nutella I figured that out too eventually but I question even though HL:A is still a different timeline, is the world of it still canon like for example: - The construction of the Citadel - Vortigaunt murals between the events of the Half-Life series - A quarantine section of City 17 to keep Xen flora away Mainly the setting of it besides the events that happened but I'm not sure if that is true or not.
@@standardzombie3454 I think whatever happened in Half-Life: Alyx tied directly to the appearance of the Vault is part of that separate timeline. So those things you mentioned are likely still canon in the other Half-Life games
@@Sexy_Nutella Or maybe, just maybe Alyx does technically appear but we only see an exact copy of her that Gman created. So it seems like we see Alyx but at the end of Episode 2, the copy disappears.
this is a year late but i’m still going to comment on it anyway what i suspect happened was similar to The Elder Scrolls II and the concept of a dragon break. here’s what i theorize: from the moment alyx opens the box with gman inside, the timeline immediately branches. the first timeline is where she discovers the gman and is effectively skipped along the timeline to the next point (which i will discuss later). the second timeline is where she discovers the box is empty (as gman is a unique entity and does not exist across multiple timelines) and simply returns to eli, continuing on with the events of the story and eventually hl2 and its episodes. then, after eli is killed by the advisors, the timeline then merges again. this occurs when timeline 1 alyx kills the advisor and is taken by gman. this, effectively, becomes the new canon and now is the starting point for all future games. up until the merge (or the dragon break), both timelines could be considered canon. what we see at the end of ep2 is moments before the dragon break. this is a nice way to keep hl:a and hl2 and ep1/2 canon at the same time and have them take place in the same universe/timeline.
@@Sexy_Nutella Hey, at least now you can read Epistle 3 after that. It's no third HL game, but it's a hell of a lot better than the radio silence we got from Valve before that.

Barney would have had this reaction tenfold I'll bet haha
The music that plays when you first enter the lab is seriously underrated
It feels so melancholic
