His music is good to me and its a type political and traditional. l know not country will like his music bcz this type of music it talks to those who are in power. This music it tells u that were not happy with your ruling power.
I llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll love yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy your music from:Katherine
having seen Fela originally in Nigeria in 1976 at The Shrine, I can agree that this isn't a great performance of "Zombie"...however, Dele Sosimi played with Fela and is a very good musician...I have seen him perform Afrobeat at a high level...and it is crazy to suggest that no one should try to play Fela's music...
Seems to me that if Fela Kuti had a legacy worth passing on, it had more to do with inspiring people to think for themselves and be critical and creative, than with slavishly following every last detail of his arrangements. Sure, he was a taskmaster but he had his own vision and wanted his musicians to bring it forth. Now that he's dead, we have the records if we want to be zombies (!) and copy him - or we can pick up the ball he was forced to let drop and we can run with it.
@Wavecurve I sense that that is a rhetorical question, and that no answer I would give you would have any other effect than to make you angry, so I'm not going to rise to the bait.
Ok, how about doing something about it yourself, track down a tribute act and encourage them to play in your town - worth a go at least. And i was only kidding in my comment, aint my fault Americans are so highly strung, anyway, if you want it go get it.
yeah. it's pretty bad. they're rushing it and not even hitting the riff correctly....irregardless of who's playing it, mate, bad is bad...no getting around it.
Dele Sosimi is still playing Zombie to this very day with his heart on his sleeve. "Yeah Yeah"

I understand what you are saying, but with all due respect I think it is divisive. This is exactly what the babylonians want.

Anyone know of a Fela Kuti tribute band that plays in South Texas? kind of a long shot, i know, but figure its worth a try.

@Wavecurve As if the point of music was to exactly reproduce somebody else's performance...
this must be another remix?
kayvisa terry no it's not, it's the closest tribute to the original thing
@Wavecurve I sense that that is a rhetorical question, and that no answer I would give you would have any other effect than to make you angry, so I'm not going to rise to the bait.
Horns came in too early, and didn't do the whole solo. But with all due respect this is a tough piece.
YOU ARE OK, BUT DONT BE SO ARROGANT, SURE YOU GOT THE VIBE COS YOU WERE THERE ON STAGE, PLUS YOU GOT ALL 12,000 + viewings.
do a video of mass
hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
you should transform yourself into mrconstructivecriticism before someone punches you in the face.
