I am Russian, I listen to this music for over 10 years, all the time just amazed at how perfectly it's done. One could say that concerts are well-rehearsed, but after listening to different performances it's clear that's not the point. In fact, all the people on the stage - it's just one single organism, one soul. So f...... good!

Completely ahead of his time. He ranks among the greats like Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Zaire's Luambo Makiadi (Franco) etc. He sung about Africa's problems but politicians considered him a thorn in the flesh. Fela you will always be remembered for your music. Extremely talented musician with the versatility to play so many instruments.

I have shared this before, and it's so damn great I'm sharing it again. FELA!!!!
I can't do him justice but his message is so powerful I'm going to try and reproduce it here - what he has to say about rich, corrupt "VIP" politicians:
    Him not know hungry people
    Him not know jobless people
    Him not know homeless people
    Him not know suffering people
Him go they ride best car
Him go they chop best food
Him go they live best house
Him go they waka for road
You go they commot for road for am
    Him go they steal money
    [Chorus]
    Na "Vagabond in Power"!
    Him be wrong man
    Na "Vagabond in Power"
I say him be wrong man
    Na "Vagabond in Power"
I say him be wrong man
    Na "Vagabond in Power"
I say him be wrong man
    Na "Vagabond in Power"
