Funny Man Jeff Allen Gets Serious - Drugs, Alcohol, and Jesus

  • This is an amazing story of God's grace. In this video, Jeff Allen, who is usually known for being very funny, gets very serious. He shows brave vulnerability in sharing what he has done before coming to Jesus Christ in repentance and faith. Please take the time to watch this video. It might not be appropriate for children. There are no swears, but the content is very heavy. One thing that I really like about this video is that God used the book of Ecclesiastes to bring Jeff to salvation. Being candid, I must admit that I don't think of Ecclesiastes as one of the top books of the Bible I would share with a non-Christian to bring them to faith, but it goes to show that "the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword" (Hebrews 4:12), and "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16). The "All" in that sentence means ALL! Praise God!

Jacob, God is real and God will do for you what He did for Jeff. Show this video to a local Christian pastor and explain what you are looking for in God. The pastor will help you, and God will meet where you are.

Be careful not to blindly put your faith into a man to bring you closer to Christ. If you fail to find what you need in the first pastor try another then another until you connect with an individual that you can be discipled by.
      God bless you.

Yep good message. I was divorced because of my apathy and drinking after three kids and twenty years I certainly believe if you stray from obedience you enter into disobedience...and pay a huge price. Remember though if anyone of us was perfect there would be no need for the cross...

I've heard and watched his testimony so many times. Honestly, God knowing how much I love stand up comedy knew that Jeff Allen's testimony was what I needed to hear. I can honestly say that it wasn't some amazing sermon I heard in a church, it wasn't a vision from God, it was his testimony and his way of explaining why Christ did what he did for each and everyone of us that led me towards God and the grace he offers in my life. Thank God for using him as a tool to reach guys like me.

Not into religion...but this man is awesome..and whatever it takes to find your way out of the hell you bring upon yourself is 💯 percent exceptable ...if we are the children of " God " and made in his image..and we tested children in our image ...does that not make us God's????...Jesus has told us this ..but if you haven,t read your Bible , but only listen to your " preacher " you would not know this ...read your Bible remove the lying " preacher " ...if you have the faith of a mustard seed you can move mountains
All the power of God is in you....start moving mountains my brothers and sisters

Interesting; that was the first lie ever told. We can't be like God. He created the sun. I've got my hands full building a fence.
"Genesis 3:4-5 Then the serpent said to the woman, you will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be open and you will be like God knowing good and evil."
We have a sense of justice, morals, love, etc like God. From my understanding, that's the image we share with him.

You’re right, Jeff. Apathy and believing Satan’s big lie that he doesn’t exist. Those are the big ones he uses , in one form or another. Knowing that those are tools of Satan, however, allowed me to lay those tools down and walk away. Those are Satan’s tools. Leave them .

@JeffAllen Thank you. For sharing your story. Amy Grant wrote a song “Better than a Hallelujah” You are far far from being alone as a lost soul on His last leg dangling at the last thread of the rope. There are millions. And God rejoices and His Heavenly hosts erupt in wild cheering at the saving of one lost soul. If you, Zach Williams, Bart Millard and more don’t share these stories…like your golf buddy did with you… souls are forever lost. Jeff, God & His holy angels had to have given this video a standing ovation. I did! Well done good and faithful servant. Love your humor, it brings me to tears… but so does this video!!!

Some things so similar to my own story. But I almost did kill my wife. We divorced after 10 years. She remarried maybe 10 years later to someone who killed her and himself. I’m broken because I didn’t try to share the gospel with them. That was the first thought that entered my mind when I heard what happened.

Please please, don’t let His death on the cross be in vain, he did it willingly to pay for our sin - since He is fully God and fully man - , which we couldn’t pay by ourselves, no matter how much we do or how much money we have…
In God’s eye, your single soul is worth more than this whole world can offer…
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:37
There may be many ways to Rome, but only one way to salvation:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

Jesus embraced the company of the marginalized and displaced to make a point. All humans are flawed, but their humanity is integral. The message this person is making, however, is, no matter how much he hurts and demeans and oppresses those dependent on him, it doesn't matter, Jesus forgives. This speaker's message is act as callously, thoughtlessly, violently as you want. Never reflect upon your choices. Be violent, as long as you can get away with it. Christianity's original message strove to comfort the battered wives, the indigent, the impoverished. Whoever this guy is, he has perverted that. He wants the world to see him as a victim, while he beats his wife and children, overpowers them, and uses his violence as a claim to victimhood. That's bullshit.

    • @tmth.stevens
      @tmth.stevens 2 года назад +1

You don't understand this message. ALL humans are wicked and sinful. You are just as bad a sinner as the worst rapist and child molester. He mentions when Jesus said that if you are even angry with another, that you are subject to judgment. The smallest evil thing you have ever done is enough to condemn you before God. God is Holy and Just. As such, God cannot and will not abide with sin; any sin. This message was NOT saying that you can hurt other people as long as you can get away with it. True repentance is a "turning away", or a "casting aside" of your sin. This is not to say that you can be perfect. "As it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one;" Romans 3:10
. You are not righteous in as of yourself ever on earth. the only way you can be righteous is if someone else takes your punishment.
Jesus came down from God's right hand, was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life that no other human could do. He was perfect. A spotless lamb. Jesus then bore YOUR sin on himself and took your punishment that you rightly and justly deserve. Don't you ever think that you do not deserve it. You are a wretch; from birth you have been a wretch and you will be until you die. You have to understand that Jesus removed the guilt of YOUR wretchedness before God on judgment day. When the believer stands before God, having turned away from his sin and repented, God will not judge him for what he has done but what Jesus did. On judgment day, the believer is covered by Christ's "imputed righteousness." This means that while you cannot make your way to heaven on your own, Jesus did it for you. You are now "made righteous" through the blood of Jesus Christ that He shed on the cross for you
"We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away." Isaiah 64:6 (Even your righteousness is worthless)
"For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive."
1 Corinthians 15:21-22 (You were born in sin and cannot be sinless)
This man is absolutely not condoning what he did. He's using himself as an example of how wretched he is. We all are. God can save even the absolute worst people. Even you.
"Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them."
      Hebrews 7:25
