This is one of the most underrated songs in BO1. Everyone gives the high praise to 115 and beauty of annihilation even though they are great
I’d honestly say for me, Pareidolia blows those two out of the water.
The WaW ones are the most memorable but there are so many hidden jems like pareidolia. Shangri-la wasn't super super popular so it makes sense not as many people know about this song
Abracadvre was it? Was one in my top list for me beside this one and 115
I honestly think Coming Home is my favorite out of all of them.

Cod zombies is the entire reason I started listening to metal
I was 3 when I saw my parents play Kino back in 2010. I thought I liked lighter music like pop or something, but when I heard 115, I realized I didn't actually like pop. I was listening to pop because my mom would always play it, and I never heard anything else. When I heard 115 I didn't just like it because it was something new, but because I actually enjoyed it. And ever since I was 3 I was listening to heavier and heavier stuff I could find at my age. I was 9 when I found Slipknot, 12 when I heard Meshuggah, and now 14 when I heard Motionless in White, Trivium, Flaw, and so much more.

Honestly and same with doom etenral but doom eternal isn’t even heavy metal kind of it’s literally like chainsaw music it’s amazing what mick Gordon put together. Sad he wasn’t in ancient gods but the music still slapped like Uac and Blood swamps.
I grew up listening to linkin park, the big 4, A7x the heaviest got was slipknot, korn & opeth
You know, listening to this song like 9 years later really shows me how ahead of its time it really was. Downtuned 8-strings, single string riffs, and odd proggy harmonies. Damn.
Meshuggah? Nothing the album came out in 2002, wayyyyy ahead of it's time, their new shit is heavy as fuck too

At least in something as mainstream as cod. This type of music had been around for a while before that.
@@TougePackHD oh I'm well aware, I'm just talking about how prevalent it is now, compared to back then. Furthermore, everyone likes to credit DOOM 2016 with having djent in it's OST but then forget this song and game.

Also I realized after uploading this there is an official instrumental version that I WISH I knew about since I can hear a few things I did wrong now listening back to that (I did this whole cover based off of the version with vocals so some parts were hard to hear). Regardless hope y'all love the cover :)

I hope this becomes a series like your DooM covers did. CoD zombies music holds a special place in my heart as some of the music that got me hooked on metal, and there are some bangers to pick from (115, Beauty of Annhilation, The One, etc.).
Was scratching my head like "damn why don't I recognize this??" Then I figured out it was from Shangri-la which is my least played map from the Black ops 1 zombies, would love to hear you cover some more of these!
