I use a weight at the top of my ruler to weigh it down, as Jordan fabrics showed on their web site......it works well for me for keeping the ruler from moving as I cut. This video is so well explained you can’t mess up........good luck....

If I'm using other colours than suggested, how much fabric do I need for each colour. Trying to find it on both Sugaridoo and Bernina websites and can't. Not on any other form of social media. Carine Esterhuyse, that depends on whether you are using the same colors as Irene. She is using the rainbow colors with a dark gray as her accent and light gray (silver is the color by Kona fabrics) as her background fabric and the bright yellow (papaya in Kona fabrics) as her pieces in this row. This is row 5 and the papaya is the fifth color in her stack of rainbow fabrics. (Yup, she is starting with row 5 and not row 1.)
Ditto what everyone else said about the link not showing up on USA blog-however, it is up in German and Dutch. I printed off the instructions for the cutting of each color-just to get an idea of what we will be doing.

I always use just the measurements on my ruler and ignore the mat measurements because there can be slight differences.

Vera Goulart the blocks are 8 3/4 before sewing them together because that is the length of the sashing Irene used to join them.
