WA7ABU 145.29 is probably the most active and widest coverage 2m repeater over the salem area. I monitor it a fair bit and theres always someone listening on there.
Still working on learning that but um getting close 😉 i have a sw-3b that my paddle lives with and im trying to get to where i can actually recieve fast enough to make contacts.
That is an impressive go-bag! My go-bag is about the same size, but not near as diverse. I opted for more power with a FT-857D. I still have limited digital capability with FLDigi on my Android phone. I have a DigiRig Mobile soundcard for my large Dell laptop that is full radio software that is a separate carry item. I am fairly well stocked with cables for computer interfaces, gps, power, nano VNA, LDG z11 pro II tuner, and antennas. I have three antennas: a rubber duck, MFJ coil with buddiepole telescoping whip, and Chameleon Emcomm III portable. The Emcomm III seems to be effective 40m and up, but about -6 dBr to my 130ft Ultimax 80m-10m EFHW based on ancedotal signal reports. As I better equip I will probably dump the Nano VNA.
Yeah that sounds like a great setup. I would eventually like a 857d since i have run into some issues being qrp only but i can still get out pretty far and it saves on batteries which is nice. Have you looked into the armoloq manpack frames for the 857d? Thats what i would want to use for it if i had one
Maybe, maybe not. My rational is that an emp could certainly break a good deal of my stuff, but will it break all of my radios and electronics?... idk. Thats a big question
@@JackTradeMark Thanks for the quick response. I thought that might be what it was. I take it that bag gives you all the room you need for your radio gear. Does your laptop fit in there, as well?
thanks for sharing fantastic station 73 from kb2uew
Thanks for sharing always useful to see what others pack and how you do it. 👍🏻 73 de M0AZE Mike
Great video, you managed to get a lot of equipment in a reasonable size bag!

Happy weekend into OR-State...💯👍👍👍🙋♂
Very useful and informative video. Thx & 73 de KK6IPR, Charles in Fremont, CA.
Nice go kit!
Well thought out GO bag. I am in your area periodically, which 2m repeaters work best around Salem?

@@JackTradeMark Thanks Jack.
Everything except a set of paddles for CW,an ideal mode for QRP.
