According to Rich Karlgaard in his book, Late Bloomers possess six strengths in life that give them an advantage over those who experience early success.
The six strengths of late bloomers are:
Curiosity - the ability to look at the world with more interest
Compassion - seeing the struggles and pain of others with empathy
Resilience - knowing that you have what it takes to fail and keep trying
Equanimity - the ability to stay calm, composed, and even-tempered no matter the situation
Insight - seeing how something is valuable and impactful
Wisdom - knowing what matters and acting more prudently
These are all hard-won abilities that each late bloomer in life must develop over many years of experience. The benefit of being a late bloomer is that you can call upon past experiences and knowledge and use them to your advantage. Хобби
The idea of a being a late bloomer resonates with me completely. Thank you for the great breakdown and video.
Me too! I am really learning some great ideas that I am excited to share with other fellow late bloomers! Glad that it resonated for you 😊🙏
This is a great video on the late bloomer topic with good takeaways.
I’m an INTP googling “late bloomers” soooo…clearly he knows what he’s talking about. 😂😩
Great review and encouragement.
Interesting. Two of my favorite composers (Wagner and Bruckner) were late bloomers. Wagner didn't write anything that we appreciate or listen to today until he was in his 30s. Bruckner didn't write his first symphony until his 40s.
But boy, when they finally bloomed, they turned into big fat roses!
Yes it’s amazing we can achieve later in life if we keep at it! I think you’d enjoy this book a lot my friend 😊🙏🏻
I'm 43 and tho I don't give myself for the littler things I've accomplished, I feel like I haven't accomplished much in term of what others have accomplished at my age. I hope I'm a late bloomer but at this stage I don't expect much. Lol.
You will get there my friend. Honestly I was 43 when life started to shift for me and I finally feel like I am ‘getting there’ at 45 years old. Hang in there my friend 😊🙏🏻
