- KINGSLEY NORTH -
Kingsley North is a lapidary store in Michigan's U.P. They make a great cab machine and sell many other brands too. They have a huge selection rough rock, tumblers, grit, jewelry supplies etc. at good prices. I buy most of my coarse grit from here in 45 lb. bags. It's the best price I have found. If you buy using the following link, I make a small commission.

This is the cabbing machine I use:

- THE ROCK SHED -
I buy a lot of lapidary supplies from The Rock Shed. I don't make money from your purchases there, but they have good prices and good service. This is where I buy my finer grits and polish.

I also have an Amazon storefront. This is where you can find other products you may have seen in my videos. As an Amazon Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases. It doesn't cost you extra.

That’s an awesome pendant !
Pretty cool.
Gorgeous
So beautiful!
You can use a piece of hanger wire to make the jump ring
I usually use silver when I make smaller jump rings. I think hanger wire would look sort of cheap. Besides, our hangers are all plastic.
No jump ring , use cord or leather
Was going to suggest a leather cord too
Very nice 😊
Wow, I love rocks.. that is pretty.
To make a bigger jump ring, just use metal wire, I've done it with several pendants, and it works like a charm.😊❤😊
I make much smaller jumps rings, maybe 1/4 inch in diameter out of 20 gauge silver wire. It doesn't seem like that small wire with a big diameter would stay together very well. It should probably be soldered together. How do you make yours?
Big enough to just loop through a silk cord. Fold in half, like a point, poke through then loop the ends through and knot.
Ah! Someone else told me to make a simple bail knot. That must be what they were talking about. I feel silly not thinking of that myself.
Another amazing polish, Rob. Somebody will be lucky to have that.
Awesome work, Rocking Rob!
Nailed the polish on that one!
Very Beautiful 🤎
I want it. ✌️🇺🇸
I love watching the magic you do with these beauties! 🤩
Agreed…beautiful nice find…
Really cool. Appreciate how you used the hole to create a place for the chain.
Really beautiful pendant❤❤
Great find, great fix, and great flash!
I LOVE PETOSKYS!! Great job❤
Beautiful, great Christmas gift!!!
Très belle pierre 🥰
You have all the cool rocks, that's not fair lol 😆 😂 🤣 😜 😊
absolutely beautiful! i’d love to have a piece like this (or any for that matter)
i know what to tell my fiancé id love for the holidays/any event usually celebrated with gifts for the next year 🥰
eta: how lovely it must be to live in an area where you can find these naturally! a beautiful hobby for sure. when i’m more mobile i plan on trying to find local fossils to my region and so i love consuming your content. it’s such a wonderful motivator to keep my interests and dreams alive. thank you so much for that.
You're welcome! It is great to live where I do. I thank God every day for that.
Great result on that polish. Nice stone. Couldninsee some quartz crystal ling in a cpl of the pattern areas?
There is a white crystal sort of thing on one edge.
Beautiful ! And nature had started the spot where you could put a silk cord to complete the look !..❤❤❤
Yep, I took the rock's hint on that one.
Beautiful
she's a beaut!...they are so fun to work with aren't they?
They sure are. Great transformation in almost no time.
You don't need to jump ring all you need is a piece of satin cord and use a basic bail knot!
That's great news. Now I just need to learn what a basic bail knot is. I was picturing a cord or chain going through, but the hole is perpendicular to the direction it should be.
I have a Petosky Stone necklace that I bought for myself for my seventieth birthday. It’s a little reminder that even though I am now officially old, I will NEVER be as old as my beautiful fossil! 😄
Nope, you're a newborn in comparison!
Hi...wie super daß ich dein Video auf deutsch hören kann 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏❤️...Gruß aus Biblis
I want too.
آفرین استاد خیلی عالی درود برشما❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉
Put it on leather.
But it would hang perpendicular to the way it should hang.
Show us what you come up with, please, pretty please 😘
Maybe, but I'm not sure how interesting that will be.
@@MichiganRocksI have faith in your creative genius!! 😊
That looks nice, Rob! Have you thought about putting in a countersink in the hole (or rounding it) to make it a bit "softer" of an edge for anything going through the hole? Maybe it's not that sharp and that might be risky for the material.
I don't think I've ever made a pendant with a hole like this, so I haven't really put much thought into it. I could put some silver grommets in the front and back. The problem with rounding it is that it would be difficult to polish that rounded over edge. I don't know if it would look bad unpolished or not.
I wouldn't use a jump ring. A silk cord with a knot on top to help it lie flat. Add some small beads and knots for a little more texture and you have an awesome piece,
Thanks. I'm better at stone work than making jewelry.
Love your work and your videos! Can a perpendicular Dremel be used to cut that hole in a stone even without the natural dip you started this one in? (with a diamond tip I imagine.)
I drilled the first 1 mm hole with a Dremel. The only problem might be getting a big enough bit for the Dremel. Here's a recent video I did on drilling holes. ruclips.net/video/hxSzB65Mneg/видео.html
What type of drill bit is that?
It's a diamond core bit. I recently did a video showing various drilling techniques for rocks. ruclips.net/video/hxSzB65Mneg/видео.html
@@MichiganRocks Thank you. I'll check it out.
Thanks

666?
Are those rocks only found in certain locations? Can you find them in texas?
They're mainly found in Michigan.
You could also use a black or brown cord making a knot to lay flat. No need for a vale…
Someone else explained how to tie the proper knot. It's easy, so I'm kind of embarrassed I didn't think of that.

Wait, why do I have a voiceover in my language? (french) Is youtube adding features that nobody asked?
I just noticed that feature had been added when I uploaded this. I did a little reading and found that you can opt out of the dubbed version and listen to the original.
@@MichiganRocksI'll check how to do it. It's so weird xD
@@MichiganRocksbut it's going to be useful if they can do that for something else than english
Beautiful, great Christmas gift!!!
