At first in my 1.6 I would do it to redline then drop the clutch, but after only a few (different days) I found my clutch was massively slipping and £300-400 later I had a new clutch. Something a friend also with an MX5 showed me is to increase the revs to 3-4k rpms, then drop the clutch and floor it once the clutch is engaged. First try like that and I had a better burnout than I ever did by taking it to redline then dropping the clutch, and two of those and several months later my clutch is still strong.
Exactly this, redlinedumping is extremly big shockload on all the drivetrain components, the miata might be able to handle it because its quite light and doesnt have that much spinning weight on these daisy rim wheels, but on other cars you could easily break your transmission or differential doing this with upto redline, because remember it creates even more torque than just driving t redline because the flywheel stores all that reving energy as kinetic energy and than releasing all of it at once, basically like having 500-600hp for a split second. if you guys have some old tires like 5y+ than i would recommend putting those on and trying it with them, they are old anyways and should be replaced but more importantly they have probably dryrotten atleast a bit meaning they are more like plastic than rubber meaning less grip meaning better to learn burnouts in :D
Does this eat up your rear brakes? I know most of the load is in the front brakes but I would assume the rear brakes are still working against keeping the wheels from spinning. How can you get your rear brakes to not kick in at all? Is "line lock" a good idea?
Most of the brake force is heading to the front discs but the rear brakes are working against the engine and will heat up. If you're doing extended burnouts this will wear down your pads. Engineering Explained has a video on doing a burnout in his S2000 with a thermal camera
Probably does have an LSD but it is still very possible to light up both tyres on an open diff Miata. I had an NB2 with an open diff and occasionally I could leave two lines when I do a burnout if the surface was perfectly flat. I got all excited one time thinking I had the sought after 4.3 Torsen but quickly realized it was an open as soon as it rained and I went for a rip on some corners.
Glad to have found your channel! Can't wait to see future videos/Miata videos! You've also inspired me even further towards wanting to own a Miata and upgrading it! Nice video otherwise!
It's probably really silly for me to be trying this either way, but since I enjoy having fun in my Miata, I figure I'd give it a try, lol. I certainly have no problem doing regular burnouts and getting my car sideways, but for some reason, I tried doing a standing burnout, and it just seemed like my clutch was just banging, while feeling like the car was basically going to stall. I did my best to let the clutch out as fast as I could, so I was wondering if I still need to let it out faster (I'm not side-stepping, just pulling my foot back), and then I just try my best to jump over to the brakes as quickly as I can, so I honestly wasn't even sure what I did wrong, lol.
It's not a bad LSD, most people change to a Torsen LSD when the original one dies but you have to change more than the diff to do the conversion. Most people that have problems with the stock one is when they add more and more power than the stock 6" diff can handle and BOOM. I plan on getting myself a Miata one day but have to get rid of my Forte Koup first.
COD WIZARD burnouts aren’t good for anything in your car. Only do it while drag racing for a very short time or if you don’t care if you break something in your car and want to have some fun
Na it just means that you have to take it easier on your car, or upgrade your cooling. Even expensive performance cars will blow their engine if they sit on high revs for too long, way before the tires are finished
i will do this (when i get one) on the last day of school when i leave the school car park. also does anyone have any advice/price for insurance in the us for an mx5, my dad says that i will not be able to afford insurance.
happy guy it's going to be around 200-300 a month for insurance. because of your age. I'm 22 clean driving record and I have a 2012 Audi s4 and I pay $388 a month
Im 19 with a clean driving record and i have a 2000 Miata and i only pay $100 a month so it really depends on you insurance provider + what you have on it + how long youve been driving
Your English is niet zo good man. Might wanna try next video in Dutch. I think it sounds better because dat Nederlandse accent in that English. Many Dutch people have it, I don't :D. But it kinda irriteert me... But thanks for the uitleg!

anyone ever notice how he magically puts on a jacket at 0:45 and then takes it off in a millisecond
+Randall I'm a wizzard :D!
should do a miata drift tutorial :D

I came here to know that too. (I know it was 4 years ago)

EE on manual burnouts
your car definitely doesnt have an open differential

@@jmracer86 felt that one 😂
Will this mess up my back brakes?
Good as I am getting new tyers next week

Nice! You should definitely buy one. I went from a BMW 120D to a Miata and I still think it was a good decision. Thanks 😄

you must change your blinker fluid. if your problem still exists, try replacing the old muffler bearing. i am sure it will work
@@illegalnights 😂🤡💀😭
Definitely the blinker fluid if you never changed that
try draining your rocker panels from 20+ lbs of water (in not joking about this btw)
Does this also work an open diff?
nice video. How hard do you press the brake? 0%-100% (for ex. 20% is coming to a stop sign)
+Alex Cheng I would say initially 60% and after that you can feel how much pedal pressure it requires.
its just such a nice feeling when doing a nice juicy burnout or rooling burnout going into some drift or donut :D
thanks! :) still you can do a burnout in a FWD by doing the same then just pull th e-break instead of the normal break ;)
What about the rear pads ands rear discs temp and wear ? There is still pressure being aplly to rear brekes !
Had this video planned for tomorrow. But what the heck, here it is! :) #Skids!
I'm due for new tires this spring and I have a spare set of rear brake pads so, I think this will be a thing later today.
Lsd of gelast diff? Ik heb je miata maandag nog gespot bij de jumbo en je Jazz op t'holland. Je video's zijn wel nice!
+Daan Koning Open Diff!!

Best explaination so far for me
Hey Luca what year Miata do you have ?
Hi, it's an 89 1.6 Miata
+Luca Car Mods did it come with an lsd ? That's odd I thought they didn't have lsd until 94
+pos miata They all have an LSD but the 90-93 miatas (he has a 90 miata which was sould in 89) have a viscous LSD will 94+ miatas have a torsen LSD
+SupportNoob damn that' sucks I have a 92

Thanks for this tip I will try it next time in my BMW and also would it help turning the traction control off.
No first of all turn the traction control off. burnout don't turn traction control off
Do you think that i Can do it with front real wheel drive ?
Yes but, instead of holding the brakes, you will use the E brake or hand break
How come the car doesn’t stall ?
Very nice video I am searching for this soo long :) Subscribed allready ;)
Are you from the netherlands?
You are dutch for sure. Lel, im too btw
ik ook
lol
Ok does that damage the clutch is my question
if the clutch is in good condition then it won't be damaged, but if it is already worn out it will burn out quickly.
its awesome for the clutch....... dumbfuck
What about ABS? Can i do it when i have it enabled?
Is it a limited slip diff in that miata?
yes ! watch my burnout with my 90hp miata! (ok I cheated with the wet road)
Hp ?
I’m 6-2 possibly 6-3 could I fit comfortably in a miata most of my height is my legs
Arsenic Ant yes I’m 6’0 and I have long legs and I have plenty of headroom
Colten Phillips is that with stock seats
yes
Yes, I’m 6’4 and with stock seats with foam removal you can fit comfortably
Andrew Harrington which gen? I heard the nb has the smallest interior
Wouldn’t that kill the brakes tho

Nice! Im 14 and i really want my first car to be a Miata,But im so tall i think i will not fit -.-
+Guido Arredondo you will ;)
Just bolt some bucket seats straight to the floor! It will fit 😄👌
+Luca Car Mods Hahaha yea but i really want one but im scared i wont fit lol
+larbag100 im 6-1 and im only 14 o.o
i'm 16 and im 1,9m high and i own a miata.. no problems what so ever...
I would try at lower revs first. Lol
thanks alot
be carefull you dont blow your diff
Thats what happened to me :'(
best out
if your tires outlast your engine, you need a new car

can i just say thats a really shit burnout
its good for a 20 year old 115 crank hp car
Lol iv do better then that in a 60HP FWD automatic But now i do really mint ones with my 198HP Ford falcon :p
What is it with some of you guys... You just have to be better and call others shit, typical american.
Marijn Donders competition is in human nature
You do not need a manual to do a burnout... Failure of a video for information purposes. 🤦🏻♂️
